About the Singing Comedienne (Before Kara "With a 'K'") :) I also have heard a LOT of Women singers Intentionally ADDING Notes into a song, where these Extra notes were NEVER in the songs to begin with. And I have a SERIOUS PET PEEVE where Female singers try singing a song, by SCREAMING the words instead of Singing. I ALWAYS COMMENT THAT SCREAMING IN A SONG IS NOT Singing.The ONLY exceptions being when talking/story telling IN the song IS ACTUALLY MEANT TO BE IN THE SONG. Examples would include male singers like Bobby Bare, Porter Wagoner, Johnny Cash, even gospel songs like All the soundtracks on Wendy Bagwell albums, Charlie Douglas story telling album stories, Most of the songs/Stories Red Sovine, Johnny Cash, Boxcar willie, and similar artists And A Single Artist Male, that can do both, Just happens to have been favorites of mine, Meatloaf, David Bowie, Elvis Presley, even Elvis Costello, Roy Orbison, Glenn Yarborough, and similar artists. Some singers can Just do it all!!! No matter their gender!!! The other type exception of a song with a story to tell, is when actual Yodeling is part of the music, Like when DOLLY PARTON gets all worked up singing Mule Skinner Blues. and Jean Shepard does her well known, I won't play second fiddle, to an old guitar. LOVE these artists and other equally talented artists of our NOW generations.
