These vids are so awesome. Problem is, I have a wealth of info regarding how nab some great late draft steals, but I’m left wondering about those first few rounds where the core of the team is built. Like, if my league doesn’t count hits, am I going Kuch over Mac? Drai before both of them or no? What round are you drafting your first D, and who is it? Some basic/general draft strategy would be interesting, or comparisons of the top players. I know it’s league setting dependant and you have a vid about that, but yeah more wondering about your general approach, like if there are any personal draft rules that are applicable regardless of league settings. Value is most important but how do you determine value in those first couple rounds where every player is a stud?

michkov will be interesting. Torts has been pretty vocal about building a team that can plug and play when Michkov joins them.

I just need your advice. So my league this year has 3RW, 3C, 3LW, 4 defense, 1 utility, 4 bench, 2 goalie. So in total, I have about 9-10 forward spots. Should I focus on taking elite forwards early? Or focus on elite d-men? 12 team, H2H, categories, G, A, P, PPP, SOG, HIT, BLK, PIM, W, GAA, SV%
@billygordon72954 ай бұрын
Always try to get two elite dman.

Regarding montreal dmen. their pp is really struggling, there's a chance hutson takes over pp1 usurping mike matheson. might avoid matheson for that reason...while taking a late round flyer on hutson.

I feel like faber could be such a good fantasy dman because in the last season he only really was given ice time in the 2nd half. I dont see why he wouldn't be pp1 since the wild had such a great powerplay with him
@firedupfantasy4 ай бұрын
I think he could be good but he’s way too risky at his ADP. There are multiple guys going way later who have secure PP1 spots and far better peripherals.
@kyleenright37574 ай бұрын
@@firedupfantasy Who are those guys?
@sebsebastian-j2y3 ай бұрын
Faber is a great pickup that nobody thinks of. If you talk about goals and assists maybe he isnt the guy for you. It depends what fantasy pool u are in but blocked shots come into play big time since they are worth 0.5 point in mine. He might only put up 40ish points for NHL points but he will push you up to almost 200 fantasy points with BLK's and hits
@thetank56424 ай бұрын
With these players that you are avoiding, is it relative to adp? I saw my friend take Marchessault for example at pick 111. Is that still bad value for him?
@firedupfantasy4 ай бұрын
Good question. Yes it's relative to ADP. March at 111 is fine Everything is dependent on ADP in my book when it comes to players I'm targeting or avoiding

Reinhardt has been over a ppg in 2/3 seasons with the Panthers. Nothing has changed about his situation and he’s in his prime. If you wanna fade him, fine. But do better than, “meh, regression probably.”
@airhead33334 ай бұрын
It’s just hard to replicate a season like he just had. Time will tell
@firedupfantasy4 ай бұрын
I should have expanded a bit more on Reinhart here. My problem is his ADP and value. There is no upside to his current price and it just feels like a risky pick. I'm still expecting 35-40 goals. I expect 80-85 points. I just don't like his price.

Do you think sergachev is better than Reilly? Good video thanks for the input
@firedupfantasy3 ай бұрын
Depends on league settings, I'd say pretty similar but I like Sergachev's value more than Rielly on a lot of platforms

You're wrong about Stamkos. He's gonna light it up even more without Kucherov there. He should be a great pick late 3rd round or 4th round if you're lucky. Whoever is sleeping on him is an idiot. They're gonna be a top 5 PP in the league. just watch.
