Misconception #16 (Furthering #9): Mr.Mime and Jynx are counterparts. Many people think Mr. Mime and Jynx are counterparts due to their human-like appearance and types. In actual fact, Jynx is part of a trio with Electabuzz and Magmar since they all recieved pre-evolutions in Gen 2, with the pre-evolutions being next to eachother. Mr. Mime is in fact the counterpart to Sudowoodo. This is because they are both 'mimic' Pokemon. They are found in the opposite version to each other, and both recieved pre-evolutions in Gen 4.

FINALLY!!! Somebody points out why Flygon isn't a Bug and Dragon and that it's NOT a Dragonfly. This is why it should keep its Ground Dragon typing, cause it's not actually a bug, plus it's Pokedex entres clearly state a lot about it having a lot to do with sand and the desert, it's even called. "The Spirit of the Desert." So stop saying Flygon should be a Bug and Dragon, cause it would actually make sense considering what it's REALLY based on.

Alright alright I get it guys, yes I know antlions are bugs as well. I'm just saying, the demand that Flygon should be a Bug and Dragon wouldn't make sense either way, cause antlions still have revelance to sand and the desert, so it has to stay a ground type. And losing it's dragon type just so it can be a bug would also be kind of dumb and I just don't think Flygon should be a bug type in any way.

I've actually gotta contest the Unown one. "Legendary" only implies that the Pokémon has legends surrounding it, which Unown certainly has. There is no rule that says "Legendary" means genderless, one-of-a-kind, impossible to breed, or extremely powerful. A lot of these also tend to be "This Pokémon is ACTUALLY based off this animal/thing" which is an entirely pointless argument. The design process is a wonderful thing, a creature can be inspired many different things, gradually changing when the ideas from your head are drawn on paper, adding and removing parts which may or may not be based off anything at all. Zigzagoon isn't a raccoon or a tanuki. Zigzagoon is a Zigzagoon.

Exeggcute is literally categorized as the "Egg Pokemon." Ruby and Sapphire: This Pokémon consists of six eggs that form a closely knit cluster. The six eggs attract each other and spin around. When cracks increasingly appear on the eggs, Exeggcute is close to evolution. Emerald: It consists of six eggs that care for each other. The eggs attract each other and spin around. When cracks increasingly appear, it is close to evolution. D&P&Pt,B&W,BW2: Its six eggs converse using telepathy. They can quickly gather if they become separated. X: Its six eggs converse using telepathy. They can quickly gather if they become separated. OmegaR&S: This Pokémon consists of six eggs that form a closely knit cluster. The six eggs attract each other and spin around. When cracks increasingly appear on the eggs, Exeggcute is close to evolution. Do you do any research or do you just choose the information that you think will get the most views and dismiss all else?
@truegreen78 жыл бұрын
Exeggcutes are colloquially referred to as "eggs." The fact that the Pokedex constantly corrects the misconception that they are eggs, by outright saying that they are in fact more like seeds, shows that they are more like seeds. The Pokedex never says, "hey btw, these are eggs, just in case you thought they were seeds" but rather state, and I am paraphrasing, "Hey I know we refer to these as eggs when we aren't talking about them scientifically, but just know that we believe that they are more like seeds" also THEY LITERALLY EVOLVE INTO TREES!... It's just like "Killer Whales"... When we are talking about them in normal conversation we would say "Hey, that's a beautiful whale" but when talking about them scientifically we would say "These dolphins are bigger than their bottle-nose cousins" since "Killer Whales" are in fact dolphins. And I don't know how explaining the fact that they are eggs gets me more views. I just don't know were THAT came from. I hope you enjoyed the video nonetheless :)
@Veexliat8 жыл бұрын
***** First of all sorry for being impolite. But i dont still see that as an explanation. Sounds much more like a theory. Just like Killer whale is categorized as a dolphin, exeggcute is categorized as an egg pokemon, even in Japan. I don't claim to know why the pokedex entries are contradictory, but just because of that i wouldn't go claiming that only 2/7 or something of the pokedex entries are correct. And anyways, don't we usually take all the pokedex entries as facts (unless its says like "it is said to be...") so can we just say on the other pokemon as well that, nope, this pokedex entry is just what not-knowing ppl think of this pokemon, can't trust it, or why would this pokemon be an exception? And making sense isn't always a thing that happens in the pokemon world. With some of the type weaknesses and venonat -> venomoth, remoraid -> octilleryand clamperl evolutions evoltuins, I don't see why an egg pokemon rly couldn't evolve into a coconut pokemon.

*Misconception #16: Legendary Pokemon are one-of-a-kind.* INTRODUCTION: I've played Pokemon for a couple years now, and onlyrecently I have begun to understand that legendary Pokemon AREN'T unique (as in one of a kind), but rather, as Bulbapedia puts it: "a group of incredibly rare and often very powerful Pokémon". Rare doesn't mean one of a kind, just uncommon. Most legendries have ways of hiding for long periods of time. Kyogre(s) hide deep in the ocean, Groudon(s) deep in the ground, Rayquaza(s) high in the sky, etc. Perhaps it was never truly intended for legendaries to seem unique. This seems to stretch over both anime and game canons. This thought came up to me when I was watching The Mystery Is History. I saw the baby Lugia and thought "Wait, a baby legendary? Does this mean legendaries are actually a species?" Well, this seriously interested me. So, since I had some time on my hands from summer break, I did some research. I sort of blew my own mind, as I had not really given it much thought. As an introduction, I would like to state the fact that ithas never once, in the games or anime, been stated that only one of each legendary exists. Even a Bulbapedia article on legendary Pokemon (not an official source, but the most reliable around) states that “the other legendary Pokémon are simply just very rare and are not unique, but so uncommon that legends have been written about them (hence the term "legendary"). These legends can be heard spoken of in the anime or seen in the PokéDex. However, like real-world legends, these legends are commonly filled with exaggerations.” To understand this a little better (if you still don’t catch my drift), think about Dalamadur in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and how the Guildmaster talks about it. He says that it can sculpt the land with a single twitch, or that its spikes carved valleys out of mountains. After you beat it, he even says “the legendary Dalamadur”, as if there is only one. However, you fight Dalamadurs a couple more times after you killed the first one, and you even encounter a subspecies of Dalamadur. This means that there are multiples; however they are just extremely uncommon. In addition, although Dalamadur is powerful, it doesn’t “sculpt the land”, even after a vigorous movement (far beyond a simple twitch). The only time it destroys any part of the arena is when it burrows through the ground. This is an example of an exaggeration of the lore. The same happens in Pokemon. EVIDENCE FROM THE GAMES: More evidence for the existence of multiples of eachlegendary is shown in X and Y. During the Diance Event, the man who comes in after his servants try to get your Diance says "let's find MY Diance", meaning there are multiples out there, but they are just rare. Diance is also a "rare mutation of Carbink", a non-legendary Pokemon with plenty in the wild to find. Some Pokemon, like Latios and Latias are directly referred to as multiples. The PokeDex even says that they “travel in small herds”. Mew have been described as “once plentiful”, but are now very rare, once again stating that there are multiples. Trainers in battle facilities can be seen occasionally using Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion. Finally, it is stated that “a new Entei is born whenever a new volcano forms”, meaning that multiples are out there. Speaking about how legendaries are referred to, the PokeDexhas a very weird way of referring to all of its Pokemon. Almost every Pokemon (with a couple of exceptions) are referred to as “it”, as if they were individuals, even though they can be encountered as many times as you want. Take Sharpedo’s Dex entry for example: “It can swim at speeds of 75 mph by jetting seawater throughits body. It is the bandit of the sea.” You see? It uses “it”, as if it were one of a kind. Now letus look at Regigigas’: “It is said to have made Pokémon that look like itself froma special ice mountain, rocks, and magma.” Once again, “it” is used. This just shows that the PokeDexnever refers to legendaries as individuals either. In addition to how legendaries are referred to, there is another odd fact about the PokeDex. The PokeDex commonly contradicts itself. For example, Entei is said to have come about by a resurrected Pokemon when Bell Tower burnt down and a Ho-Oh revived it. In the PokeDex, it says that “this Pokémon is thought to have been born in the eruption of a volcano”. Some legendary Pokemon can be found living in multipleregions, and seem to be separate individuals. However, the legendaries that you find in Hoopa’s rings don’t count, as they are being taken to Hoenn on purpose, not naturally (meaning they appear by other means than being sucked against their will by a portal). I’ll list some of these Pokemon here (by memory): Regigigas: Hoenn, Unova, and Sinnoh Regirock, Regice, Registeel: Hoenn, Unova, and Sinnoh Lugia: Johto and Kanto Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres: Kanto, Sinnoh, Kalos Ho-Oh: Johto and Kanto Entei, Riakou, Suicune: Johto and Kanto Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza: Hoenn and Johto Deoxys: Hoenn and Kanto Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf: Sinnoh and Unova Heatran: Sinnoh and Unova Cresselia: Sinnoh and Unova Latios, Latias: Hoenn, Kanto and Unova Mewtwo: Kanto and Kalos Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus: Hoenn and Unova In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, both team Aqua and Magmaplan on creating a Blue Orb or a Red Orb. Tell me, if the legendary they were seeking were truly one of a kind, why would they attempt to create another orb for themselves if the legendary was already captured/defeated? Also, legendary artifacts can be found or obtained in regions where those legendaries don’t live. Why would there be more than one of each artifact if the legendary it summons/controls is captured or defeated? For example, DNA Splicers can be found in other regions besides Unova; Kalos and Hoenn. Why would there be multiple DNA Splicers if only one Kyurem, Reishiram, and Zekrom existed? In X and Y, Trevor asks you if you’ve caught a Mewtwoyet. If the answer is yes, he tells you that he has caught one as well. This is yet another time where multiples of each legendary are clearly stated to exist. Victini’s PokeDex entry states: “This Pokémon brings victory. It is said that Trainers withVictini always win, regardless of the type of encounter.” This clearly states that there are multiple trainers thatown a Victini, meaning that there are multiples of it. Kyurem is said to have come from space, so there could bemany Kyurem in existence, but only a few rarely make it to earth. Also, Kyurem can be shiny, have different natures/characteristics, IVs, etc. Finally, there is one more important piece of evidence.Almost every legendary can be shiny. Shinies are described as “a rare and unusual coloration for a Pokemon species”, similar to albinism. If legendary Pokemon can be shiny, than that must mean there are many more normal-colored individuals out there. In addition to this, each legendary has randomized stats. One Rayquaza may have a Lonley nature with bad IVs, while another one is an Adamant nature with good IVs. By soft-reseting your game, you can capture the same legendary with different natures, IVs, and characteristics each time. This also means that Rayquaza A is a different individual than Rayquaza B. In short, since Pokemon is a completely randomized game, which SPECIFIC Rayquaza you encounter isn't certain (as the Pokemon games are based around the Multiverse Theory). There are only 4 legendaries that can’t physically exist atthe same time; Arceus, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. Even in Bulbapedia (which isn’t official, but still pretty reliable) it says that “only some (legendaries), in fact, are often considered unique, some of these being Arceus, Dialga, Giratina, and Palkia, due to their roles in the creation of the Pokémon world and their respective regions”. It follows by saying that “The other legendary Pokémon are simply just very rare and are not unique, but so uncommon that legends have been written about them (hence the term "legendary").” This doesn’t mean that multiples don’t exist under the ownership of trainers only that one of each is in the “wild”. Arceus has shown in Heart Gold and Soul Silver that it can create newborn Palkias, Dialgas, and Giratinas at will. It even gives you the egg of one of the three of your choosing, each at Level 1. That being said, if one of the three is captured, Arceus simply re-creates them. Arceus itself can be captured, and can even create itself. Even it its PokeDex entry, it states that “it was born from an egg”. All four of these Pokemon can be shiny as well, which further supports the fact that more than one have existed. EVIDENCE FROM THE ANIME: A lot of evidence supporting the existence of multiplelegendaries comes from the pronouns used to describe them. For example, in Season 8, Episode 374, Jessie and James refer to Groudon and Kyogre multiple times. They say “let’s get that Kyogre” and “there’s still a Groudon”, referring to those specific Pokemon. This must mean that they know that they aren’t unique, hence why they refer to them as specific individuals. If they were one of a kind they would say “let’s get Kyogre” and “there’s still Groudon”. The same way of referring to Groudon and Kyogre is seen in the games as well. In Season 8, Episode 373, Maxie clearly states that Team Magma plans to capture multiple Groudon. He says “Our goal is to use these Groudon in the very same way and to establish direct contact with their ancient world”. In Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, Kidd Summers says “there’s a Mew hiding around here”, shortly before Max says “a Mew”. In Destiny Deoxys, Yuko asks “how could a Rayquaza enter the city”. Even in ORAS, the newest installment in the Pokemon game franchise, Archie says “that Groudon”. In short, there are many times in the anime and games that legendaries are referred to as non-unique beings. In the episode “Battling the Bully” a child mistakes Pikachufor a pre-evolved form of Zekrom. Why would this child mistake Pikachu for a pre-evolution to a Pokemon that there is only one of? The answer: He wouldn’t! He must’ve known (or assumed) that Zekrom isn’t one of a kind. In addition, there are many different Celebi seen in the anime. There is also a trainer who owns a Darkrai. This Darkrai isn’t the same one from The Rise of Darkrai. Adding even further to this, shiny legendaries (which I have explained the importance of before) can also be seen in the anime as well. In Zoroark Master of Illusions, a shiny Entei, a shiny Raikou, and a shiny Suicune are seen. In Freeze Frame, Articuno is said to breed (presumably only in the wild). In Hoopa and the Clash of Ages, a shiny Rayquaza is seen. To add even further to this, there was a baby Lugia in the anime, confirming that legendaries do give birth. Multiple Deoxys are seen in Destiny Deoxys, and in other episodes/movies. There are even completely different Mewtwos seen in the anime. Two Mewtwo are seen flying side-by-side in Mega Evolution Special I, one was seen in Mewtwo Strikes Back and another from Genesect and the Legend Awakened. Actually, during an early screening of Genesect and the Legend Awakened, Nanamaru confirmed that the Mewtwo in this movie wasn’t the same Mewtwo from Mewtwo Strikes Back! When Dawn’s PokeDex talks about Shaymin, it says: “Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokémon. When the Gracidea flower isin bloom, its pollen allows Shaymin to change into its Sky Forme from its Land Forme. Shaymin also have a tendency to migrate.” The key word here is “have”. If Shaymin is one of a kind, it would have said “has” in place of “have”. Also, in the 11th movie, there are multiple Shaymin. Keldeo is said to have had parents, which were definitelyother Keldeo, meaning muliples exist. CONCLUSION: All in all, this just proves that there are multiples of ALLPokemon, not just normal, non-legendary Pokemon. Once again, it has never been flat-out said in the games or the anime that legendaries are one of a kind. There is actually more evidence supporting that there are multiple legendaries rather than one of each. Perhaps this intended this all along, but the message was just confused or misinterpreted. I will end this with a list of each legendary Pokemon as of ORAS and weather it is unique or not based on the information I’ve provided. If you have a problem with a listing as to why I believe it is isn’t one of a kind, please refer back to the previously listed information. Mew: Not one of a kind. Mewtwo: Not one of a kind, but very few probably exist. However, Mewtwo can be created at will. Articuno: Not one of a kind. Zapdos: Not one of a kind. Moltres: Not one of a kind. Lugia: Definitely not one of a kind. Four are seen in the anime. Ho-Oh: Not one of a kind. If Lugia isn’t, than Ho-Oh isn’t either. Entei: Definitely not one of a kind. Raikou: Definitely not one of a kind. If Entei isn’t, then Raikou isn’t either. Suicune: Definitely not one of a kind. If Entei or Raikou isn’t, then Suicune isn’t either. Celebi: Definitely not one of a kind. Regirock: Definitely not one of a kind. Regice: Definitely not one of a kind. Registeel: Definitely not one of a kind. Regigigas: Definitely not one of a kind. Latios and Latias: Definitely not one of a kind. Rayquaza: Definitely not one of a kind, because there are multiple different Rayquazas seen in the anime (one of them is even shiny). Groudon: Clearly stated not to be one of a kind by Maxie (an expert on Groudon). Kyogre: If Groudon and Rayquaza aren’t one of a kind, then neither is Kyogre. Jirachi: Multiples are seen in the anime, and it can be shiny, have different IVs/Natures, etc. Deoxys: Definitely not one of a kind. Two are seen side-by-side in the anime. It can also be created at will . Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf: Probably not one of a kind, as it can be caught in multiple regions without the help of Hoopa, and can be shiny. However this is still up to speculation. Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina: These three are unique, but only in the wild. Like I’ve explained before, Arceus re-creates them if they are captured. This means that multiples exist under the ownership of trainers, but only one of each exists in the wild at any given time. Arceus: It is the God of Pokemon, so it is obvious that it is unique. However, if somehow captured, it can also clone itself. This explains the existence of Arceus with different stats and natures. Darkrai: Not one of a kind. Two separate Darkrai are seen in the anime. Cresselia: Not one of a kind. If Darkrai isn’t, then Cresselia isn’t either. Manaphy and Phione: Definitely not one of a kind. Heatran: Definitely not one of a kind. It can either be male or female, it is found in multiple regions, it can be seen under the ownership of trainers in the anime, it can be shiny, have different IVs/Natures, etc. Shaymin: Definitely not one of a kind. Multiples are seen in the anime. Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion: Definitely not one of a kind. They are seen under the ownership of trainers, can be shiny, have different IVs/Natures, etc. Keldeo: Definitely not one of a kind for the same reasons as Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion (excluding being found under the ownership of trainers). Also, it is stated that there are multiples in the anime. Victini: Definitely not one of a kind. PokeDex says so. Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus: Not one of a kind. Found in multiple regions, can be shiny, has different IVs/Natures, etc. Zekrom, Reishiram, and Kyurem: Very likely not one of a kind. Can be shiny, and have different IVs/Natures. Meoletta: Not much evidence to go off of, but probably not unique due to the current trend of legendaries not being unique for the reason of having different IVs/natures (excluding those that created the universe). Genesect: Definitely not one of a kind. Multiples are seen in the anime (including a shiny). They are also created at will. Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde: Very little is known about these Pokemon. However, like Meoletta, they probably aren’t unique for the same reason. Diance: Definitely not unique. Clearly states that in the PokeDex and in the Diance Event. Hoopa: Two are seen at the same time in the anime. Definitely not one of a kind. Volcanion: Hasn’t been released yet, but like the rest of the other legendaries, it probably won’t be unique once it is released.

you can consider unown as legendary in a way. i mean, it's the foundation of language and is old as (some of the) oldest legendaries. although not powerful in a battling sense, i think they are maybe more powerful in a cultural sense than almost any pokemon
@blafroman9 жыл бұрын
The misconception #8 isn't actually a misconception. The pokedex itself doesn't seem to know whether Exeggcute is an egg or seeds. It keeps changing: Dex entries: X: Its six eggs converse using telepathy. They can quickly gather if they become separated. Y:Even though it appears to be eggs of some sort, it was discovered to be a life-form more like plant seeds. ORAS: This Pokémon consists of six eggs that form a closely knit cluster. The six eggs attract each other and spin around. When cracks increasingly appear on the eggs, Exeggcute is close to evolution. The dex entries vary from game to game even within the same generation leaving whether exeggcute are eggs or not up to the player. Also if they are eggs then the fact that eggs are more natural (nature being associated with green) maybe that's why they're the grass type?
@truegreen79 жыл бұрын
Dremp I think the problem isn't that the pokedex is confused, it's just that it's referring to Exxegcute informally, as eggs, (and not scientifically) because they look like eggs and have eggs-like features. (Just like how people would refer to the Orca as a Killer Whale when in fact they aren't whales, but are dolphins) But the fact that the pokedex even mentions that scientists think that they are most likely seeds means that they are most likely seeds. (they are addressing the misconception)
@blafroman9 жыл бұрын
***** But since there is no definitive answer then they can exist as both seeds and eggs. Up to interpretation. Since the pokedex is our main source, and the canon source, of info on pokemon we cannot completely say that they are either seeds or eggs. Yeah scientists can say that they are most likely seeds, doesn't mean they are seeds. It's like me saying it will most likely rain tomorrow when in fact it could be a sunny day.
@TDGTheDoubleGamer9 жыл бұрын
Dremp quote from a exeggute in the mystery dungeon series "we are always mistaken for eggs..." or something in that line. If exeggute itself says they ' re not eggs the are not! It might not be seeds but it debunks the theory of them being eggs
@blafroman9 жыл бұрын
TheDoubleGamer This coming from a game in which humans are some form of myth. Mystery dungeon isn't a main series title, so for canon information we go to the pokedex from the games. Not the side games. Otherwise it would be simple for me to make a game where exeggute says they're seeds.
@lukeario95429 жыл бұрын
Dremp Egg would most likely be some sort of informal or colloquial term for the individual segments of the Pokémon. The best example I can come up with to explain this is Koalas (there has to be a better example than that but I can't think of it right now so I'll settle with it for the moment). People often call them Koala Bears and actually think they are a type of bear, even though they are marsupials. So an Exeggcute's sections are referred to as "eggs" simply because, despite it being the wrong term to use, it has become the name given to them. Also, a lot of kids are given Pokedexes and kids are hard to explain things to sometimes, so by just referring to them as "eggs" and then putting a little fact in about them not being eggs it eases them into the process of learning about the Pokémon world gently, so as not to intimidate them.

I call bullshit on the Pinco one! You can't have a name like PINECO, and look EXACTLY like a pine cone, but say it's something else that doesn't look anything like a pine cone whatsoever! Obviously the original creators was making him based off of a pine cone because the name and appearance are literately 99% that of one.
@truegreen78 жыл бұрын
Considering that it is literally categorized as the "Bagworm Pokemon", is a bug type and has a Japanese name that doesn't even mention the word pine cone, it is 100% a fact that Pineco isn't a pinecone and rather a bagworm, which like I said, disguise themselves by looking like pine cones. It's extremely simple. You do know that Pokemon is Japanese, right? Pineco wasn't created with the intention of calling it "Pineco" from the very beginning. It only got that name when the game was localized.
@FatalBlow1138 жыл бұрын
***** I am *literately* your biggest fan! I never expected you to respond back! Yea, I know it's a Japanese show, and would you happen to know the actual original name then? I looked it up on the German Pokewiki (unfortunately I haven't found a similar site in English yet, so I can't help you this way) but there it states that the Japanese Name is Kunugidama, a combination of Kunugi (some sort of oak, Google Translator said pointed oak, but my English isn't good enough to tell if that is true xDD) and Tama for ball or orb. So acutally in Japanese it's called Oakorb :D

Here's one that will piss a lot of people off. Pokemon is always supposed to be pronounced "Poke-*Aye*-Mon", not "Poke-Uh-Mon" or "Poke-Ee-Mon". Even though I break this rule religiously.
@Fandresvc9 жыл бұрын
GodzillaGamer101 Here's one that might piss you off. It's not pronounced "Poke-Aye-Mon". It's hard for native english speakers to notice because the use of vowels in english is open as opposed to exact. That "é" in pokémon doesn't sound "aye", it sounds like the "e" in "men" and the "o" sounds like the one in "song". It comes from POCKEt MONsters. You don't pronounce pocket "poke-ate", you pronounce it "pock-et" (redundant isn't it). So it would be better to say it's pronounced "Pock-eh-mon" since "eh" is the closest one to the "e" in "men".
@Pokezilla1019 жыл бұрын
Snowlands Hey = Aye Hey = Eh Poke-Aye-Mon Poke-Eh-Mon... I think I'm pronouncing it right either way, or am I not. My accent makes me say eh with a hard "a" sound.
@Fandresvc9 жыл бұрын
GodzillaGamer101 Dammit, I didn't think of that. I was thinking of "eh" as in the prolonged "ehhhh" sound you sometimes make when you're thinking of an answer to a question. For someone who's lived in Canada I should've remembered "eh" from the get go.

Snowlands poke ah mon

It's not "poke-whatever" either. It really should be "poh-keh-mon" in the proper Japanese pronunciation. "ké" is a separate syllable/character from "po" in Japanese. The only way pronouncing it like the English "poke" is possible would be "pokkémon" (two Ks) or "pokumon/pokkumon".

On the Machoke part, I like to think that the "clothes" some pokemon wear are similar to gem's outfits from SU. They are part of the physical creature, but aren't body parts as we know them. They are not limbs, fur, hair etc, they are something entirely different. I also theory the design process of human-item based pokemon is reversed in canon. No, Vanillite isn't based off ice-cream, ice-cream is based on Vanillite. Early humans perhaps saw a horde of Jynx and created clothes. Maybe.

Another misconception: Kyurem is an extraterrestrial Pokemon, this came from one myth in Lacunosa Town about the "meteor" that created the Giant Chasm, Black 2 and White 2 actually reveals Kyurem's true origin, he was once part of the Original Dragon and is actually the corpse of it, this is why the fusion make sense. He wants to be whole again and the DNA Splicers isn't actually a finished creation. Also, the Pokedex can be unreliable.
