Hello, flash is not popping up automatically in my canon 250d !! Only manual mode? I tried even in low light conditions, still not popping up automatically and it shows onscreen message like "only raise the flash" How can I resolve this

@@humanvnm I believe that the flash on the SL3 (25OD) is only manually raised, like you have to use your fingers, I don't think there is an auto pop up function? Anyone else please correct me if I'm wrong.

@@humanvnm in the menu for flash, you may have it set to off. Some do this in low light areas when flash of camera isn’t allowed, like museums. You can change it to Auto.

I didn't know that the battery life was that good. I had considered getting another mirrorless, but the battery life in my camera is pretty short. So, now you have me thinking. It's a little larger than a large mirrorless, but if it is light and the battery lasts as long as you say, then I don't need to carry around so many extra batteries.

Hi Nothing to Declare, thanks for your questions and for subbing. So the card that I am currently using in my SL3 is the Extreme Pro 95MB/S SDXC Class 10 255GB Sandisk card, works like a treat with 4K. I've used it on days out ... literally all day.. filming and taking photos and the battery literally never seems to die! I mean it will eventually die... but it is super generous.. I don't know how long it lasts in minutes (maybe this is a test I should start adding to my review videos) Thanks again, hope that helps! Enjoy shooting and filming!!

These points are straight-on and very nice. I bought mine recently and these are the main reason I prefer this over Canon M50. 1. Battery life / duration 2. Wide lens compatibility for future lens upgrades 3. Build quality - M50 is quite rigid, handy, and good looking but I kind of view it as a compact camera with a lens which turns me off. 250d looks like a little bit shrunk DSLR and that fits my personality an enthusiast. 4. Good Vlogging capability 5. Mirrored sensor - I consider this as an advantage personally because I want to experience this technology before going to the mirrorless cameras

a seller tried to recommend this to me today, so i'm researching all i can. I want to use mine for youtube vids and live streaming uses with the elgato cam link... and people say it works (a few people) but it's not on their list of approved cameras. But the more i hear about it, the better it seems over the m50

Well it does have the clean hdmi out which you will find useful for live streaming - I found it similar to the M50 in most ways, has a lot of the same, main, functionality. Like I mentioned in my comparison video it doesn’t have the 24fps for cinematic video and also I don’t think it includes peaking lines - but with DPAF shouldn’t be an issue (:

Let me double check this tomorrow - but normally the HDMI is used to patch video out - for data transfer you will normally need a USB connection.

Great question Atif - to get slow motion film at a higher frame rate, for example 50fps and in post production - like in premiere pro use the interpret footage option to bring it back to 24 or 25 FPS and you will have genuine slow motion (:

If you want to learn about DSLRs then the 250D and kit lens are great starters - if you want something cheaper you could consider getting the 4000D.

Thanks Nouman - to get slow motion you need to film at the higher frame rate 50/60 FPS (which is in HD only) and then in your editing software interpret the footage as 24/25 FPS - if you are using premier it’s as simple as right clicking on the clip -> select modify -> interpret as -> and then type in either 24 or 25 into the box that appears - hope that makes sense!

I own it and it's a wonderful camera which can produce stunning pictures and videos, the autofocus is breathtaking, battery life is amazing, I love the digital IS... - but the 4k is not that great. The crop factor is enormous, the picture is suuuuuper wobbly and a lot of features like dpaf don't work. If you really need 4k and want to shoot in 4k primarily then I would recommend looking for a different camera. I use 4k on the 250d/SL3/200dmkii/Kiss X10 (wtf Canon...) only when it's on a tripod, I have plenty of space and there are no fast moving objects like trains or cars... handheld 4k for example is unusable in my opinion - or I'm too stupid for this camera. And I think I'm not. :D Hope that helps ✌

Hi. I just bought the SL3. I normally use small sensor bridge cameras and when I get a new/used camera my first test is shooting a couple oriental vases in my living room. The SL3 failed to focus on the vases to my satisfaction, even with flash. I have had an old Nikon P510 that I bought for $100 do 50 times better on the vases.

Don't invest on any wide angle lens to overcome the crop factor in 4k because the Dual Pixel CMOS AF system is not at all good when using 4k video. I can say there is no Dual Pixel CMOS AF for 4k. So think before you investing for a wide angle lense if you are buying it keeping 4k videos in ur mind.
