Just a note bro, a mistake in video. "P" is not for Portrait mode, its Program mode, is that mode, only the exposure is automatic, while other camera settingscan be set manually.

I have the canon 250d and it is a very good camera for the price I have taken many pictures on manual which have turned out amazing and have recorded a henna night a marriage ceremony in 1080p 24fps and has turned out looking stunning

I've been using one for my twitch and youtube journey but never could figure out why it looks trash compared to my cellphone. This breakdown of features and how to specifically use them is going to go a long way in upping production value, after all i'm only as good as how well I can use my tools. its a sunny day in Cape Town so I'm gonna go take some shots while the weather holds.

Ridiculously informative! I picked up an SL3, on the cheap, as a quick replacement for the Canon that I had been using for Real Estate Photography. I wasn’t sure if it would “fit the bill”, but, after discovering its capabilities, it may just be my favorite sub-$1000 camera (well, my favorite non-flying sub-$1000 camera, that is. lol) In any case, great video! Thankyou. Been keeping a close eye on DSLR cameras but never able to take the plunge. iPhone 14 Pro been good - but not great for what I want. Decided to go for it and spent a week researching. Balance between cost / battery life etc made my decision really. I ordered my 250d tonight. My first “real” camera after super zooms and compact Sony before. Can’t wait. What lens would you recommend for visiting the motor racing? Seen an ef 75-300 but getting mixed/negative reviews. Thanks for this video - really informative and great revision before I start!!!

The smaller the f stop the more light (the better for low light) the shorter the depth of field (the better for portraits).

wow buddy !! this is by far the best introduction on the 250d out there i am thinking of buying this as i have a very old fuji bridge camera which has very limited capabilities compared to the 250d thanks for sharing this info i have subbed the channel too ,just a question the kit lens supplied can i achieve the blurred background with it as i think it only goes down to 2. 4 the lowest on my fuji is 4.3 as i would like to take some family shots like you have or can i use the portrait mode for this as i dont want to have to buy another lens straight away ,many thanks stay safe and looking forward to the next one from Clive in nottingham.

Hi 👋 I got a Canon ROS 250D for my anniversary from my husband recently. Your video and instructions have been very helpful for me a beginner user. Im now using manual mode and know about exposure! Im always the person that takes the photos and am never in any so I want to use the timer on the camera so I can be in some photos as well.... but when I do this, I get blurry images...

Quick tip- Use the canon app on your phone - and take photos with that - you should be able to lock focus remotely and avoid those blurry images 🙏🙏

Get a sharp lens and good lighting shoot at around f/4 and you should be good 👍

Awesome video, but what does “BULB” mean in shutter speed?.

Its a function that allows you to keep the shutter open as long as the shutter button is pressed (so longer than the 30 seconds) - useful for when you are taking photos in extremely low light - like stars in the night sky 🌌

On a budget I’d say the 50mm1.8 ( a little more on the 50mm 1.4 ) also look into fast 85mm lenses for portraits - for landscape I’ve been using the older 16-35mm 2.8 👌😎

Great video man, i have a question tho. Since the camera is aps-c the 50mm lens "become" an 80 mm if im not wrong. i'd like to shoot in the streets maybe at sunset, so i was wondering if the lens is good to do this or is very different from a 50mm. On yt i've seen a lot of videos of people shooting with the 50mm and i really like this style, but i guess they have full frame cameras.

Get yourself a 50mm 1.8 (you can grab one second hand for very cheap) and go out and shoot in the streets at golden hour 🌅 you will LoVe it 🫶

This is a great question! I think it can certainly do the job, would depend on the lens you were using too - also depends on what other cameras you have available to you - I would much rather use something a little more sophisticated- like a Canon R5/6 🙏🙏

I am trying to get to grips with using photoshop to touch up the pictures I take and I was wondering how you access this interface. I have the 2023 version and I get a very compact and weird set of menus that do not have some of these options. Is it only available when working was RAW files?

If you are just trying to open a JPEG I think you will get a different set of toools - not 100% sure - as I haven’t done that in a long while! Will have to double check 🙏
