I have A Lady for A Duke on my TBR shelf specifically from your endorsement ❤

Before watching the video, I have to recommend 'You Deserve Each Other' by Sarah Hogle. I have endlessly recommended this book. I don't like romance at all anymore. I find it trite and repetitive with hardly any creative and unique voices. However, I am in LOVE with this book (and frankly anything Sarah Hogle writes). It's so genuine in its portrayal of characters, so authentic in the author's humour, so deeply entertaining, and thoughtful in the character arcs and so interesting and creative in its plot that even upon rereading it, I still loved it just as much. I would read this author's grocery list if she chooses to publish it. I really hope you pick it up because I've never laughed like that while reading a book as well as get hit by such strong emotions from a book as hilarious as this one.

If Evelyn Hugo counts as romance then I recommend it as a sapphic romance. This is How You Lose the Time War is really a sci-fi book but heavily centred around a sapphic romance also. For graphic novels, there's The Sea in You (cute little mermaid retelling) and On a Sunbeam (gorgeous sci-fi) and Always Human (gorgeous sci-fi, different vibe) and all are avaible legally online as webcomics.
@mintkookie78013 ай бұрын
A romance manga that I would recommend, since you also love No Plot Just Vibes stories, is Veil by Ikumi Fukuda (more popularly known as Kotteri) Veil is a story about a blind woman and a police officer told in vignettes--snippets of their life together. It is absolutely a love story and a story about love at the same time. Now the art: stunning. I highly doubt you've seen other manga like it. The art looks like drawn by a fashion designer. Not only is the art style aesthetically pleasing, but it serves soooo much purpose in giving life to the characters. You can feel everything from yearning, caring, to actual intimacy (without anything explicit) that will get you flustered way more than anything smutty out there (the tension between them is umatched fr). The writing within the manga itself is very well-done too, and touches serious issues concerning disability. Warning: it will leave you with feelings like "God, me when??" And "I want what they have 😭". Sorry not sorry. Do yourself a favor. Read it. Thank me later.

We have almost identical taste in romance, I’ve added the two I haven’t read to my wish list. I would recommend The Honey Witch by Sydney Shields, it’s sapphic fantasy. It’s a lovely, cosy romantasy with a great plot. I really think you would love it.
@love060363 ай бұрын
For sapphic books, I've read "This Poison Heart" and it surprised me! It is a low fantasy with a romance subplot and I enjoyed it so much. I haven't read the second book "This Wicked Fate" yet but I would definitely recommend the first book if you're looking for a fantasy with a great sapphic subplot. I hope the romance picks up in the second book but we'll see. I would also recommend other Kalynn Bayron books. She wrote "Cinderella is Dead", "Sleep like Death", the "This Poison Heart" duology and "You're not supposed to die tonight". I really enjoyed what I've read from her so far and she only writes sapphic so far. Maybe you want to check her out

I love so many of these titles and I immediately wrote down all the others I haven't read. Lucy Parker's London Celebrities series has been my go-to contemporary romance recommendation for years. Book 2 (Pretty Face) is the best of the lot but I love all of them. Jennifer Crusie is very much from the early 2000s chick lit era, but Bet Me is my favorite romance novel of all time. And I've read several hundred. Cat Sebastian, KJ Charles, and Freya Marske are top tier writers of queer historical romance.

Hannah I have 2 fall recommendations for you! I know you like gothic fiction/horror, and I have recently read 2 new favourites, which are My Darling Dreadful Thing by Johanna van Veen and The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White. The first is a ghost story that explores women’s experiences with madness/hysteria set in Holland in the 50s, and is also sapphic with a strong mystery element. The second is a Frankenstein retelling that gives Elizabeth so much more agency, and has some truly incredible writing (I almost cried a couple of times with this one!). I think both would potentially make your top books of the year, and personally I’d love to see them get more attention! Plus, they could make really great reading vlog content :)
