These are great recommendations. Rebecca is one of my favorites as well. Top of my list is probably Alif the Unseen by G Willow Wilson though Lady Joker, by Kaoru Takamura, is probably nipping at Alif’s heels. It’s so hard to pick favorites isn’t it!

@@arlissbunny yes it is!!! I really found it tough to compile this list and I have so many books that I later felt I could have included in this top 10 list… I have heard of lady joker and it seems super interesting! Thanks for recommending Unseen, will check it out!

Great recommendations! I have already read some of these and absolutely loved! Especially Americanah. What a delicious book haha. Have you read Half of a Yellow Sun by the same author? I loved that one too.

I haven't read or known the existence of Fingersmith by Sarah Waters before today and I am thorougly intrigued. I found your description of the book to be very similar to one of my favourite films of all time, The Handmaiden (2016). After googling a bit, I found that the film is indeed an adaptation of the book with the setting changed from Victorian era Britain to Japanese colonial Korea. A happy discovery that propels me towards acquiring and reading the book ASAP. I must also take this opportunity to recommend the aforementioned film to you. I know you will enjoy it as well. Happy watching! ❤
