I would tell my son that king's power comes from both God and the People. It means the king has to care about both and have support of both. If he doesn't care about one of them, he will not be a good king no matter how long can he keep his throne. If he doesn't have support of one of them, his reign might be short or his ideas might be very hard to implement no matter how good his ideas are. To get the support of God, you should fall on knees before him. To get the support of people, you should impress them. Giving them something for their support will not give you real support, but a fake word and give them a feeling that they might use you. You need to make people truly believe you are the good king and that your power comes from God, then they will always listen to you.

@@brian3786 it’s not really the same thing. A king is ruler of one territory. The title Emperor indicates they rule over territories that are not their native i.e. colonies. It’s more like saying ‘I don’t want to be a domestic house cat, I want to be a lion’

King As for the piece of advice I would give a future king, "Think differently, but act the same as those around you" There are so many advisors who will say to be an independent person to the point of your own detriment alienating everyone around you. Contrast that with those who say to become a part of something greater than yourself. When you lose your individuality you become a victim of group mentality and are never able to critically think beyond the leading member of the herd. The best path lies in the middle; think differently than those around you and you will solve problems previously thought impassible. But acting like those around you will give them the illusion of security while also having the benefit of disguising your intentions. Following the 48 Laws of Power and mastering them are key to building your power base, starting your reign as king, and maintaining your rule for years to come.

KING. I actually had a strange experience when I started getting back into religion. I was praying to St. Micheal the Archangel. He told me that I was the King of England. I was skeptical, but St. Micheal said 'Open your bible." Well, on the first page of the Bible it says "King James". My name happens to be James. So then I thought "Maybe he is right." It's a strange thing to question the honesty of an angel of God. Then, he told me to turn to the part about the jamboree, a time when all debts were cancelled and the Kingdom was handed over to it's natural indigenous population once every 75 years or so. The Irish had Kings too, and I also happen to be Irish. The Irish were of the 'young kings get killed' variety. I thought that perhaps because of the Biblical Jamboree, the Kingdom which had been conquered would revert to it's original state of being a Kingdom of Ireland. Then I also remembered that there is a controversy regarding the ancestry of the current British Monarchy. It has something to do with the name 'Planaget'. So technically, I could claim to be the new King of England...depending on how the current British Monarchy responds to that. However, if I were to behave as a shining example of all of the things mentioned above...some people might want me as King over the British commonwealth, which is technically half the planet. They might like being Knights and carrying swords and so on. Then again, I can always wear the crown and the jester cap too.
