I was one of the lucky viewers who Won a easy smx m15. I love it. Have not figured out how to alter the controller options on iOS. I know how to connect via Bluetooth, but I haven’t gotten any mapping software working. Love how easy it is to program the back buttons.

During that video, there will be a portion more in depth about how to get the connection working, it works exactly the same on your M15. Watch for that one, that should get you the info on how to get the software working on iOS (except that the software is Moo Wii Gaming and not GameSir's app).

Fantastic video! I’m moving from an IPhone 13 Pro Max to a 16 Pro Max. I’ve been a very heavy player of CODM using a Backbone in the past. I’m loving my new phone and a G8 so far! Bought the EasySMX M15 for my 16 Pro, really want to love it but man, sucks that it doesn't let my phone sit flush, feels like it'll fall out anytime or break off the USB port when i use it while laying down had to tear off the rubber next to the port so I can fit my Otterbox Lumen case too any other recommendations for a controller suitable with this case? wired if possible kinda tempted to just blow wallet for a Kishi Ultra otherwise and pray that one fits

Either the Razer Kishi Ultra or the ELO Vagabond, but the Kishi Ultra doesn’t have a swivel connector, which I find doesn’t play as nicely with inserting phones with cases. I would suggest studying the ELO Vagabond to see if you’d like that style, it’s such a great controller!

I did study it a bit actually, not too long ago in fact. A lot of people seem to believe cooling cases are pretty much pointless, which there is definitely some compelling arguments when making such a statement. I have not yet tried one myself but I might down the road. Cheers!

It's not perfectly still on a phone, still very good a hold overall but if you get somewhat irritated with a bit of flex, like say joycons on a Switch, yeah the X4 Aileron does have a bit of it too.

I game on an environment where the temperature is always mostly chill so throttling hasn't really been an issue for me but it is for a lot of people. If it is for you and it's hindering. your ability to game, they can definitely help (controllers with coolers). That said, you should avoid a case when using those and after having researched cooling cases, it seems they are not really what they claim to be and are basically inefficient, contrary to coolers such as the one found on the X3 Pro.

I don't know what to tell you, I haven't modified mine in any way. That said, there is a small flap that you should be able to remove (does require a bit of force) to give even more camera clearance. I never removed mine but that could help you in your case? Don't know what else to suggest sorry

Wired would offer the best responsiveness in most cases, but not every one of them. Bluetooth latency has come a long way and with the right product, you can have better results than a cheap wired solution. That said, whichever way you decide to go, I'd recommend focusing on the features and ergonomics that matches what you want the most, that's where your best experience lies.

I also bought a black shark cooler 4 and was planning on using it with the controller, but after looking at the controllers I'm a little worried if my cooler would be usable with them, like some of them had the backbone thing. If you want to use the cooler with a controller, the GameSir X4 Aileron would be one of the better options, keep in mind that while it works on iOS, it's a "secret mode" and you won't be able to tweak the software on iOS.

Yeah, so the goal is that beyond the tierlist, I'd like to have some "top of categories" in maybe 3-4 categories, without having to elaborate but just to rank them based off of "something" pretty much. That ought to do it. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the tierlist will be moved to early October, I'm waiting on something logistically that I had no power in making it faster and I doubt I'll have it in time for late September. :(

So you use a rugged case right? There's a few things that's going through my mind. I'm thinking construction, it can be dusty, maybe you'd be better off with "minimalistic option" to see if it lasts well enough in the working conditions. Quite frankly, I think you'd be good to start with a X2s Bluetooth. That won't matter for cases either, it's very portable. If you want something to work with the case, which if you have a "construction-proof" case, I can't think of anything other than the G8Plus and *maybe* the Abxylute S9 because that USB-C does poke out quite a lot.

The M15 is probably not a sleeper because I'm pretty sure it's selling quite decently but I still think it could use more exposure. It's potentially underrated still, especially when consider "quality per value" ratio. Very complete as a product. (Edit) I just realized it was you ahahaha! I always wondered if EasySMX and you had the postal code situation fixed, I figured it must've been since I hadn't heard back. I wasn't familiar with that case, it seems fairly thick. If it has a little bit of play, I would assume that you'll easily be able to tighten the G8 to get a sound connection. Going off of a video I watched, it seems about as thick as the case I have on my Fold 4 and that's what I have to do with that combo.

Can you use the EasySMX M15 (or M10) wired to my Mac from the bottom USB C port? For me, portability is key, and I don’t want to carry an extra female USBC to a male USBC Daptor for the middle USBC out. You can, but not through the bottom USB-C port. You'll have to buy a USB-C female to USB-C male and connect from the middle connector. So that portability you were talking about (which I totally understand) kind of gets "shot out the window". The G8Plus seems to be your best bet and for the record, that bluetooth connection is miles ahead, it's on-par with first party controllers as far as I am concerned.

Im having trouble connecting my g+ to my 16 pro, it always show gamesir-g8+ for the bluetooth name tho per manual it should be the Dualshock 4. Now it just shows connected but its not functioning for bluetooth. When it’s wired using my typec cable it functions well. Please help

The Gamesir G8+ that you are referring to is not to operate the controller but rather to modify its settings through the app. Make sure you are on the iOS mode by holding Capture + Right most face button, and once your RGB light pulses blue (Around the GameSir logo), hold the pairing button for a couple seconds and then you should see it come up on your iPhone as Dualshock 4. @@claytonschroeder That's a different thing altogether. Screen mapping hasn't been possible on iOS for nearly 10 years. As PUBG possess no controller support, the only way to play it with a controller is using an Android phone and screen mapping. Not a limitation on the controller, or any for that matter, this is a restriction coming from Apple themselves. What I mean by shortcuts, is that you're able to tweak the controller features such as turbo, hair trigger (software), swapping ABXY layout with shortcuts on the controller itself.

What would you say is the best on the go compact controller for iPhone 16pm? I currently have my iPhone 13 pro with a kishi v2 that im pretty happy with (though don't love how loud the buttons are on the bus). I considered waiting for a sale for the backbone but after seeing how many options exist, do you recommend something else instead? edit: I did originally get the kishi v2 for $25 CAD in a whorehouse sale, but ive gotten enough use out of it to justify the cost of +/-80 on a controller (not 140 though lol).

For a low profile, compact solution, I would definitely go EasySMX M05. Watch my review on both it and the M10, I break it down pretty thoroughly in there except for the software solution, which that I break down in my Memo S3 tablet review (it's the same software) and it GREATLY increases just how valuable and versatile these controllers can be. If you want another more complex approach on many different options, my tierlist video I made about 3 months ago is also a great video to get the general gist of what the market has to offer. I'm truly sorry to hear, if it is no longer working, it must be Apple cracking down on spoofing controllers. Unfortunately, it is not the first time this happens, with that said, have you tried every modes on the controller? Apple opened some spoofing solutions so I don't really see why that wouldn't work. I just tested on mine on iOS 18 and it worked fine, what iOS version are you on?
