You live in bad part of Czech republic. In every part of Czech republic, except big cities, we have grill party every week/two weeks. (Spring to Autumn) Every sunday all the family is going to our grandma for lunch. We have nature, where you don't meet a single person... We do drink nature juice everyday. Buy a holiday house in south Bohemia, Moravia or north B. And you'll find that life in small vilages/cities here is near the same as you know from Venezuela. Except high heels, and parrots... 😅

@@ArepasforDinner Making apple juice in blender doesn't work very well but you can do it with a proper juicer. And as a bonus, you'll get a small bowl of apple puree (though it'll probably be a little sour without extra sugar). But try blending some raspberries or strawberries with milk, that's delicious.

Fun and informative video. Like it. Some of my observations: Punctuality - Czech etiquette (in books) actually says that a person is supposed to arrive at the host's home for an event at their home about 10 minutes past the set time to allow the host to finish preparations. This is a rule of Czech etiquette that I actually really like (10 minutes is nice and takes away the stress of being too late or too early) but most Czech people I know have never heard of it and many consider it rude to arrive even 1 minute late, so they arrive early, which I do not like (I am Czech-American), so I try to tell people a time frame (eg between 14:00- 14:30). When it comes to BBQs, it really depends on the people you know and their living situation - many Czech people do having "grilling parties". and grill meat/steak. People in Moravia tend to host larger social group celebrations - they tend to have more large birthday parties and invite 70 people (my husbands family is from Moravia). I hope you find a way to live the lifestyle that you want to live and that works for you. Cheers.

Nice video, just one correction: Christians are either Catholics, Protestants, or Orthodox. What you call Christians and Catholics in the US, are Protestants and Catholics. Just a terminology issue.
@ArepasforDinner
@ArepasforDinner 4 жыл бұрын
And what about Baptists and Mormons? And you have there so many specific christian churches with specific names. So we round those up in Christians because they more or less follow the same basic rules (from afar at least) the pastor is not a priest and they do get married. The Virgin Mary is not important and there are no saints. Is like despite the many names of the different churches they all share a base so we call them Christians and they call themselves Christians too
@melancholy348
@melancholy348 4 жыл бұрын
@@ArepasforDinner Thank you for your answer. Baptists belong to the Protestant group. Mormons and most of those small (smaller) churches with specific names have attributes typical for Protestant churches (those rules that you listed), although not all of them identify as such. It's a lot more complicated, but just because somebody says "I'm not Protestant", doesn't mean they are or aren't. Their affiliation to denomination is decided by mechanisms used by each particular church. My intention was only to help you use proper terms.

@@ArepasforDinner STEAKS are too expensive for czech people. If they don't have a friend who has a cow and is willing to sell them some meat for cheap, then more expensive beef cuts are way too expensive. Most people in the czech republic will have 1 steak a year in a restaurant (perhaps 2), but definitely cant afford to have them every week, 2 weeks or even every month. Czech salaries are super low (average salary of a czech person is 29 000 crowns, but not many people have this even in prague and in other parts of Czechia it's absolutely uncommon to have such high salary. A regular sized ribeye steak (say 250g / half a pound) would cost you about 80-160kč in a butcher shop (400-700kč per kg, depends on the quality of the steak), in the us the same weight costs between 5-10$ (10-20$ per pound), which is about 110-220kč (440-880kč per kg). So lets say regular steak costs 160kč in here and 10$ (or 220kč) in the US. But the average monthly salary in Czechia is 29 000kč and in the us its 4500$ (99 000kč). Yes, the salary in the US is 300% higher, but the steaks in the US are only about 50% more expensive. Chicken and pork are simply way cheaper options.

@@ArepasforDinner Yes, steaks. Same as we do here near Brno. Sure, we put some sausages and vegetables on the grill as well, but pork steaks marinated in beer and paprika sauce is the reason why we start the grill in the first place.

Hey (hola) , that's a different topic, but did you and Jan (Honza your husband) try a typical Czech village or small town "pouť" = pilgrimage? Try to visit it, it's not just about food, but mostly about fun 🍻🥂 (just telling you to newest post)

I do!!! I share it on Instagram all the time!! But about the bbq do you grill steak?! From the cow? That’s what I meant 😂 like for us Americans don’t do it neither cause besides Texas they don’t do the Brazil/Argentina/Venezuela type of bbq. Jan couldn’t believe it the first time he saw it.
