15 Things The MCU Changed From The Comics

I think overall, the MCU has done a great job in adapting our favorite Marvel stories and characters in a way that works in live action. Sure, it’s not perfect and there have been some baffling decisions, but I think in general most of the big changes the MCU has made while adapting Marvel comics have been successful. But what are some of the most impactful, biggest changes the MCU made to the source material? Well that’s what I’m going to talk about today!
Sometimes Marvel makes big changes to their villains’ origins for better or for worse. I immediately think of Thanos and how in the comics, he was obsessed with impressing death. I always found it funny how the first Avengers movie hinted that he was going to keep his comic backstory, but then they changed it over the following years. Do you think things would’ve been better or worse if Thanos kept his comic motivation? That’s tough to say! What about other villains who had their motivations changed? It’s clear that Killmonger’s origins were a perfect change, but on the flip side, did you like how they made Ego the Living Planet a Celestial? And those are just character changes, but what about broader story changes like Ultron’s creation or the impact of Civil War? Do you think these changes were good ones?

Comics can tell a deep story over the course of a year. A movie has to do it in less than 3 hours. There must be changes. Comic arcs can cover decades, humans can only be young for so long. There must be changes.

That's why I loved the Spiderman arc!!! They didn't do his origin in just his first movie, they developed it through his whole trilogy!!! It was so smart and it felt natural

I was frustrated to how lazy they were with Gorr's appearance. Some said it was hard to see facial expressions but Andy Serkis as Caesar and Smego that's a trash excuse. And others saying it was too close to looking like Voldemort, come on, they could've done so much to enhance his appearance that people wouldn't have even seen Voldemort, but they went the lazy route.

In the comics Ego was created as an experiment by the celestials. If I remember correctly they declared him a failure

I believe hank could’ve made ultron as an A.I.., during the winter solider movie S.H.I.E.L.D. had a data dump one of those files could have housed his program & with his comic book power of memory manipulation he could used Tony to instigate his creation/evolution.

Talking about Wanda, I think the mind stone kept chaos magic from fading as stated in in WV, but also gave her very own superpower of Psionic, the ability to use multiple psychic based powers in 1 package. Superpowers and magic r different in nature. In the Marvel movie coming, I hope we c Carol's Ms. Marvel classical outfit, the black skimpy one with the lightning bolt logo and red sash.

Here's what I hate about the mCu so far : 1) Gorr, a third grade villian just sat in front of Eternity like that in Love and Thunder. 2) Agatha Harkness was shown as an evil woman in W&V but she was actually a great lady and also took care of Franklin Richards. 3) The way Celestials were shown in Eternals was pathetic ! 4) Mantis, who is actually very very powerful was shown as a dumb character in the Infinity War. 5) Infinity Story without Adam Warlock was bs !! I hope they don't screw Storm (in my opinion beyond Omega mutant) and when she becomes part of MCU.

There were plenty of terrible decisions made in the MCU. Many of the changes were to reflect to current society and mold or foreshadow future events. If one pays close attention and is somewhat in the know, they’d recognize the certain things or messages sent to the audience.

Some other changes are 1. Infinity War in the comics is actually about Adam Warlock dealing with his evil side, the Magus and the cosmic cubes. Avengers: Infinity War is actually based on Infinity Gauntlet 2. Infinity Gauntlet happens over the course of around a few weeks, not 5 years. because Thanos gets the stones within a weeks or 2, and then plays with his stones like a toy for a day, snaps his fingers, and everyone shows up a day later and stops him.

My version of the Dark Avengers are still villains but it’s HYDRA instead with Baron Strucker being Iron Patriot. Norman Osborn’s version of “Dark Avengers” is reinterpreted as the third version of the Thunderbolts or the “All-New, All-Different Thunderbolts” but after they’re exposed as villains the team jokingly gets called the All-New, All- Different Dark Avengers. Another character I changed is Red Barbarian making him a great threat to characters like Nick Fury, Black Widow, Winter Soldier and the Winter Guard.

Thor basically has Mjolnir back at this point. So its not hard giving him Stormbreaker. But since he was worthy of Mjolnir, it only seems fair if they show it. So maybe thor and Beta Ray Bill will duke it out at first. Or maybe since Love, Gorr's daughter, has Stormbreaker, you could consider giving Beta ray bill, Jarnbjorn.
