Make up or skincare can’t give you those things, no matter how much is used (and I am a makeup-skincare-hair product loving girl, lol!). If you want to, try just finding your favorite facial feature and focus on showing it off, but I promise we all see a beautiful you 💜🤗

This was so hard to watch, to hear you saying mean things to yourself, and to recognize that I do exactly the same thing - and so many other women. Something that really been helping me with exactly the same feelings has actually been coming out of lockdown and seeing my friends without masks for the first time in so long and being so excited to see their faces, because I love my friends, and their faces are what I see, and I know that's what they are thinking when they see me, too. Faces aren't special and beautiful because they achieve some weirdly immobile botoxed and strangely contoured, bronzed and hightlighted standard. Faces are beautiful because they belong to people we love! Thanks for being so real!

@@Clutterbug MODERN SKINCARE LIE: hey cas, you said you have skin issues,so did I since 13 & at the age of 25 I've tried many skin/hair care products for acne/dandruff etc only to realize that most of the modern skin/hair care is a lie, even the soaps and face washes, shampoos. - ACNE CAUSES: the reason we get acne is because foaming, anti-bacterial products with harsh preservatives mess with our natural microbiome and deplete our natural oils I.e sebum which is the best moisturizer, only reason it clogs pores is because we kill our good bacteria which actually help us fight bad bacteria and repair other issues. But due to years of marketing and brainwashing we've gotten used to the "squeaky clean" feeling which is purely psychological. - GUYS SECRET:many guys who don't do skin care (one's that don't use facewash and soaps & just use water) have good acne free skin, even if there's ocassional acne/unless it's hormonal/due to food. - WATER CLEANSING: even that can be helped with just using water to cleanse/oil cleanse without excess but with little gentle massage without too much scrubbing to remove sunscreen/makeup (as that's water proof). - FULLERS EARTH: Or use very little fullers earth powder (clay)/any non-anti-bacterial natural cleanser that doesn't have anything else that's problematic added as facewash without overly rubbing/stripping natural oils till you get used to water cleansing. - MICROBIOME FRIENDLY MOISTURIZER: & Using sunflower oil which is non-comdedognic-doesnt't clog pores/aloe vera gel as moisturizer if sunflower oil doesn't work or any microbiome friendly moisturizer that's free of comedogenic ingredients & harsh preservatives. that too only if your skin still breaks out because your sebum has depleted other wise just sebum acts as moisturizer. And sunscreen is still needed though. And it takes some weeks for the skin to adjust to this. - ACNE MECHANICA: And given that you keep everything that touches your hands and face clean eg.hand, face towels, phone, neck pillows, pillow cases etc. Because that causes acne mechanica : caused by irritation/catching dirt from objects. - HAIR CARE: Same for hair I switched from shampoos & conditioners to washing with fullers earth and few drops of light oil to the ends post wash to battle dryness and my hairfall went away 90%. rhassoul clay is a better option. -WATER CLEANSING HAIR: just water cleansing if you don't use hair oils in high amounts, don't go in pollution and use chemical based hair products and are willing to wait for 3-6 months so over production of sebum calms down then that works too. May be I'll try aloe vera gel for edges of hair too. - Even many dermats don't know about this except ones that are updated. - TEMPORARY PRODUCTS: And most external anti-ageing products are temporary with many side effects, and some products might Even age people faster. - SOCIAL SHAMING: I was shamed into using a moisturizer by a teen my age & socially conditioned to use facewashes/creams the moment I stepped into modern society but before everything was fine because I was a sheltered kid. - HONEST STORY: Only brand that made me realize was the brand named honest.story on ig and if you want to go even deeper you can read the book "clean'" by James hamblin (based on which honest story was formed). And focusing on prevention of root causes is a better step to Better health too. - CELEBRITY HARDSHIPS: and no hate to celebs but they're just normal people that are just expected to stay perfect hence they need to risk their mental well being & even health & waste their hard earned money by undergoing surgical procedures and health than fixing the root causes. - CELEBRITY HARDSHIPS 2: And most of them have to keep up their appearances by using makeup, dermatological procedures etc. and side effects of all that are so many that you could write a book on it. - PRICE OF BEING A CELEB: i wouldn't want to be a celeb even if i could even with all the pros because they need to run to quick fixes than actually have the time to figure out root causes..

When I turned 40, it was such a relief. As someone who spent much of her 30's getting injected with botox, fillers, having my hair permanently straightened, highlighted, wearing god-awful waist cinchers trying to remain visible, I was finally liberated from the prison of trying to look 20. The stuff I was putting in my body, was toxic, but even worse, was what I was doing to my self esteem. I'm 47 and looking forward to 50. I have grown out my greys and I actually wish I had more. I have zero shame when it comes to aging and because of that, I am 10 times healthier than I was in my 30's. Shame causes inflammation and inflammation is the start of so many diseases. No thank you! Cas, I hope you know how much we love you, even with crazy foam donuts in your hair.

I’m a licensed esthetician and wish to share an interesting fact about the beauty products. They all have an expiration date! Once the ingredients separate themselves, it’s no longer effective. Hence, it’s a waste of space and time if one tries to continue using it or saving it for later. Also, it may cause a serious reaction to some people, as the chemicals change overtime too. So, the more reason to use them all up soon after purchase and to throw away the old ones as well.

I use any expired cosmetic oils as lubricants for door/wardrobe door/screw/hinge/any machinery like printer/any mechanisms by using a needle and a syringe to lead oil to nooks and cranies lol which keeps em good as new. - SHAMPOO REPURPOSE: And use shampoos as detergent for my combs/random stuff that doesn't touch the skin etc. - BOTTLE REPURPOSING: keep the bottles and use them as diy projects so it's not wasted. I keep googling things as to how to use those things, eg. Toothpastes can be used to remove scratches from plastic & a lot more. - CONDITIONER/CREAM REPURPOSING : tell me what I can do with conditioners without it having to be used by humans, Idk what I could use the conditioners/creams as though, may be used creams as foot cream if they're not wayy past the expiry date (or may be not since you say they're useless) or may be creams and conditioners both can be used as lubricants for machines too (i won't use it for any thing expensive like a printer though, but just something like a door hinge). -NAIL PAINT REPURPOSING : I can use nail paints/mascara for diy art or naming my clothes/items in hurry ,empty the mascara bottle and fill castor oil in it to use it as lash and brow oil. And fill clear nail paint bottle with a good oil to use as nail/cuticle oil, The ideas are too many. - MINDFUL SHOPPING: And I think hard about what product to buy and if i really need it,and if I can fix it naturally by figuring out the root cause, every bad purchase is a lesson.

I struggle with basically every area but I wanted to share this. I have been on my own decluttering journey for about nine months. Some things are of course harder to get rid of than others. This morning I sold a baby winter overall that all four of my children wore in their first winters. Those tiny babies in that sweet, fluffy little snowsuit, head to toe softness. It was so tiny, so fluffy and soft, and that sweet baby smell... I sold it for the equivalent of around five dollars. I have had it sitting around for years, going from storage container to storage container because I could never bring myself to let it go. The two little satiny elephants embroidered on the chest, the soft fabric, and that forever baby smell... I just struggled. As I packed it into the bag for shipping, I literally hugged it, snuggled it, smelled it, and cried while I folded it gently and put it in the bag, taped it shut, and put the label on for shipping. I am crying again now as I write this. I know this isn't about bathroom things, but I so relate the struggle, the guilt, all of the emotions that come when trying to declutter your home. One day at a time, one thing at a time, five minutes at a time, ever forward, right? Thank you so much, Cas, for your videos and keeping me motivated as to why I am putting myself through all this. It is worth it!

One of the things I have learned in my decluttering journey is, when it’s hard to let something go, is to keep the lesson it teaches you. Like, learning that you never use something like that so don’t buy anything like it again. That it doesn’t work for you and you paid $ to find that out, that just because it’s free (samples or hotel shampoo) doesn’t mean you should take it because all it does is pile up. The more it “hurts” to get rid of it, the more I say to myself that I have to learn not to do it again!

I would also take samples and put a note on them with FREE to good home. it was amazing how a certain perfume I hated - someone else loved or there was someone going on a trip who could use the samples. As long as nothing was old I just put it out. Now I did work in a large office with over 250 people so products soon found good homes. it did help me get rid of a lot of good products that were usually brand new and I didn't feel guilty then about getting rid of them.

My struggle is with home decor. I feel that I’m not much of a decorator and I feel bad about buying things that then don’t work for my space. But I hang on to it thinking I’ll find a place for it later. I used to be like that with craft projects and supplies too. That one’s not so hard anymore. But I do think you’re right and feeling the pain and regret will help in your future buying habits. Great job with this! You go girl!

Small tip, if i have jewelry that is broken or i have decided i dont like it or need it anymore, if it still is pretty and sparkly i recycle as a gift wrap or Christmas tree decoration. I also would sometimes use things of this nature to embellish fancy barbie dresses.

I donated all my unused makeup to my beauty school I went to. The used makeup can be donated, spray with alcohol. The lotion & perfumes can be donated to a women’s shelter. The makeup tools can also be donated. Vitamins & supplements do last beyond the “expiration date” they just loose potency. I’ve worked in the medical field for over 20 years. I’ve used “expired” vitamins and medications and they are fine if they are sealed properly. My point is donate, before trashing everything. Have a blessed day Cass. Long time subscriber.

Another great video. First to say that "whatever" someone's personal hangups are, the emotions are still the same. Second to say that the more situations like this we go ahead & handle, the easier & more natural it becomes. Finally, we women are all so darn hard on ourselves ! Listen, at 71 now (😳 whaaat ?? 🤣) I've learned this one thing for sure. Every few years as look back at old photos I'm "shocked" how darn good I looked but remember that at that time I thought I was barely passable. So, Enjoy where you are & be less obsessed with the manusha. 🤗 The more comfortable we are how God's made us , the more that people will enjoy us & we'll love ourselves. ❤

I love your honesty. This mind-set could go for our whole house/life, I'm terrible for "Oh, that's so cute/pretty(fill in the blank) I LOVE it!!"...I buy it because, for those few moments/days/week, of the initial excitement...the depression/overwhelming stress, that it chased away, feels better...fast forward to drowning/suffocating/feeling buried in the WAY too much stuff that makes me feel worse than before I bought that "fix". It's HARD, and I know there are many out there like me, struggling with this (having a physical challenge does NOT help), but I truly do find this type of video inspiring, especially the part about "guilt". Thank you, Cass, for sharing and encouraging us...you really ARE being a great help to many!

When you started talking about the vitamins and supplements and pulled out the fish oil... I hear you on that one. Mine went in the trash as well eventually, since someone convinced me to buy the "chocolate" flavour (and chocolate, it was not). Hey Cas! There’s nothing wrong with your face. You are BEAUTIFUL inside and out! Also, I wanted to let you know that you don’t have to throw away you hair products and makeup. I dont know the regulations in Canada and US, but mortuaries and funeral homes in my country accept expired and used makeup donation. That definitely lessen my guilt with throwing away makeup because the products will be used anyway, so it doesnt feel as much of a waste! Maybe you can ask your local funeral home if something like that can be arranged :)
