I have an inside cat that is also just a bit on the wild side too. I bought a laser pointer for her to chase around to wear her out.

Got to agree with everything you have said. I'm pretty much a minimalist at 61 years old but you've motivated me to get rid of some more stuff

OMG I was laying around tired and poor me. This was a miracle post for me. I cleaned the bathroom and painted the freaking piece of trim that has haunted me for a year. I.wish you lived next door to me!! I wish we could sit and chat. So your video is just like being with you. I'm not kidding, you saved me today. Thank you.

Thanks for being the mental boost I need, too. My daughter has put off folding her clean laundry (even though it's been on her list for 3 days) so I just finished spending 5 minutes getting it folded. Now when she comes home from school, she will find it folded in the basket and only have to put it away. She's like me - if the project is "big" i don't know where to start so it doesn't get done. Hopefully we can *both* check this off our lists today.

Oh my goodness!! I needed to hear this today! I have been feeling exactly like this too! Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Your positive attitude and kind words inspire me all the time! Thank you for this. I love you and Dawn because you have positive outlooks and such good advice. We got a cat door for our indoor outdoor cat so he can come and go as he pleases. You have to show and teach him how to use it but he will get it pretty quick. Thanks again!!

I have never dealt with a feral cat on my own, but for any feline help I go right to Jackson Galaxy. Goods signs are his wanting to be inside with you, and bringing you food since you clearly don't go out and hunt for yourself. Gonna take a moment to bring up the interview you did with Dr. Regina Lark. Even the onus of motivating your family to do household work should not be sitting just on your shoulders. Maybe while asking for help, also work on asking someone not mom for help with some tasks. Especially the mom-centric ones.

Tip for travelers who HAVE to have souvenirs: collect small things. We do one magnet per new place we go. Our fridge is a fun place to go look at travel memories. And when it gets too much there I'm going to make them into like a wall art thing or something

Try a pet door with a microchip reader. It will let any animal that will fit out, but only the animals whose microchips it is programmed with back in. It can also be locked from the inside if needed. Train the cat to go through it to the inside by placing tuna or some other yummy treat on the inside. Lock it at night.

Biggest suggestion for Mr Bojangles: he wants to be an indoor cat but he needs a feline friend. Alot of that behavior will change. Also a cat flap that Penny can't access will also help him to come and go

Thank you for this. I needed to be reminded of my leadership role at home. When my girls were in college, I would give their rooms a good cleaning before they got home for holiday breaks. It gave them somewhere calm to come home to after exams to really relax and recharge. As for Mr. Bojangles, it sounds like he needs a feline friend. If that's not possible, then he at least needs toys to play with to satisfy the needs of his hunting instincts. Tossing jingle balls, little mice, etc, playing with feather toys and omg, laser pointers are good ones. You should also have toys that he can play with by himself like balls in tracks or feathery toys that you can attach to the floor or wall with suction cups. They also have toys that you fill with treats that they can bat around that will dispense treats as they play. (Google "Snacky Mouse") And it sounds like he wants to be indoors, especially now that it's getting colder. He may want to go out again in the spring, but I would keep him inside for a while. Putting out bird feeders near windows he can see from will keep him interested. YT also has videos for cats that they just set up a camera in front of bird feeders to keep them entertained. I'll put one of those on while I'm at my desk doing bills or something and they'll just hang out on my desk with me and watch the video.

Cleaning a gas-powered oven is so difficult that I never get it completely clean. I don’t want to use an aerosol cleaner due to my fear of igniting a fire. Do you know anything about this, please?

Generally you only have a cup and saucer if you’re using a tea pot, then yum, lots of tea as you go back in for more. And the saucer is a place to put your spoon after stirring, as you’re adding milk etc where you are drinking and not in the kitchen next to the kettle, and you can balance biscuits on there too 😊🫖 But most people just use mugs at home 🥰 Love the video 🥰

This was (possibly) your best video ever - and that is a very high bar. Ironically, it helps me to know that others are struggling but figuring it out - and in such a wise, relatable way. Thank you for that!!! It took me YEARS to realize that I can walk into a room that is a mess and do just one or two things. It's OK to leave some tasks undone - there is still progress being made.

I've had cats all my life, all have been outdoor cats made indoor cats. Some as kittens some as adults. Ok first no catnip.... it's kitty crack. I will btly the temptations treats in catnip flavor but that's regular cat nip makes them nuts. I laughed when you said be was hunting you all, that's a cat....they hunt. My cats have been trained not to scratch furniture or get on counters/ tables by using a spray bottle of water. Keeping their nails trimmed is also key, mine use scratch posts if they want to scratch something. If you have an active kitty you may want to entertain him with a laser light. Note: if you have a hunting dog, the dog will chase it too. My cats are only indoor they don't go outside ever because it cuts fown tremendously on vet vaccinations because the only contact they have with the outside is thru the dogs who are fully vaccinated, so all the cats need is the rabies shot required by my county. Also helps cut down on any flea infestations, never had a flea in my house and Ive had animals all my life.

Build a catio for Mr. Bojangles! Mine is 30'x15' and my formerly ferals prefer to spend time there, only coming in when it rains. And yes, the catio is connected to the house with a cat flap. They can come in whenever they want.

I feel the same though I do like the reminder about looking at what is in my control and finding a way not to just totally shut down or fall into depression. Because then the things I am responsible for pile up making everything worse. I like too, taking a look to see if our kids are feeling overwhelmed with their schedules.

I’m feeling you, Cas ❤ It‘s sad that women have the most responsibility in their household and also the mental load. I am sorry to hear that your familiy doesn‘t realize that you suffer and don‘t see the need to help you. You are amazing! They are really lucky to have you. But once in a while you should take a break.

We have a feral cat who also adopted us. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a one-size-fits-all solution, but you can try what we did. Ours became very sick right away and we had to spend a bajillion dollars getting him healthy. When he came home from the vet he begin viciously attacking us. We carried around water bottles for several days and squirted him when he would come after us. This seemed to work after just a couple of days. He is still a little feral, and does not like a lot of human interaction. However, he is no longer attacking us and even recently allowed me to pet him. We have had him for 6 years. He still likes to go outside at night but does prefer to be in the house the majority of the time.

Agree with all of these ideas but that said we keep a DVD player and some movies to watch when the internet goes down. Thankfully my 80yr old Mum doesn't have all this old crap so I won't have to inherit it.
