Most japanese cars are in general more reliable on the long term than german cars. German cars are made for the customers that buy them new. What happens after 10 years does not matter to them. Most of the electronic gismos will fail and maintenance is expensive. German cars are good to have new or to lease, but as an occasion they do not so well.

I had a A6 2.7T, a twin turbo car, I live in Québec, Canada, with very harsh winters, in the 15 years I had my A6, weather was not important anymore, on the contrary, I had fun going on the road in snow storms, AUDI made the perfect car, lots of room, very economical on fuel, but when neede you awaken the 2 turbos and then you really moved fast....in any weather....Mercedes would be my second choice, then the third would be BMW

Royal Audi! Before I bought one last year, I would have had Audi at number three on the list. But since first test driving the only one I have ever driven (I had to buy it), it can only be the number one. The ride is smooth and precise. And it is amazing what their Quattro all-wheel drive system does for cornering with throttle plus overall stability. Another fun plus of the quattro system is on rain-slick roads, being able to out accelerate almost any non-quattro car off the line or easily take them in a corner. Audi's definitely have the most smiles-per-mile!

Royal Audi. Proud owner of a 2008 B7 RS4. In my personal opinion, the Quattro system is fantastic. The engine power is revolutionary even from the lower class models like the A3 and A4. I've owned a 2012 C63 AMG, 2010 M3, 2008 RS4 and now own a venerable RS5 and I've driven an R8 and an AMG C63 Black Series - all have differing points, the real drivers car is the Audi. Anyone who says differently - hasn't driven these cars, or, you're unable to take the car to it's limits... and have post purchase dissonance. Cheers.
