Actually, they make much more money than 45 million as they sell a lot of their expertise and technology to other car makers - like ford for example with the carbon wheels on the latest GT40. They also charge a lot for after sales servicing and maintenance and they also buy and sell older models of their cars. They offer a package for customers abroad to have their car collected, flown back to head office, the car is stripped and everything rebuilt like new, then flown and delivered back.Then there is merchandise.

Although I agree w/ most of what you have said and it's very impressive what Christian has accomplished in such a short period of time, Koenigsegg does out-source! I don't fault them for it, nor do I value their vehicles or accomplishments any less, many/most of the castings, the engine for e.g. Are not made in-house... there is no Koenigsegg foundry for e.g.. The engine is based, although it's now highly modified, was based of Ford's "Modular V8 Platform." The carbon body & tub are made by a British firm. Smaller CFRP moldings, such as wheels, suspension components, trim, etc. are made in-house. But please don't fool yourself thinkingv"everything except the tires are made by Koenigsegg...." Once again, I don't fault them, in fact I praise them. From a business standpoint, building an in-house foundry or buying several larger autoclaves doesn't always make sense. As far as the engine being Ford based, it uses all Koenigsegg castings, it's own parts & design improvements. Like Porsche, sometimes evolution is better than revolution.

The internal combustion enigne makes 820 kW of power, equivalent to *1100 horsepower,* and on top of that the 2 electric motors up front and one at the back together make *700 horses in total.* So, the car makes 1800 horsepower, theoretically at least. Now, when it comes to utilizing all the power, it's written on Wikipedia that at 7,800 RPM, the car makes 1800 horsepower, since at that RPM the internal combustion engine outputs all of its power (which is true by the way). However, CVK himself says, that the car can output "only" 1500 horses, so i cant confirm all things i said above.
