The word mate isn't really used ( in my little world of Aussie) especially women don't say I'm off to see my mate. I don't know if the male gender would use the word mate more frequently?? Or whether living in town or outback makes a difference? Or whether 21st century kids/young people use the word mate??

What? both emus and kangaroos can move other directions than forward, There is not 7000 beaches in Australia and its islands, there almost 11000 beaches on the mainland alone. Australia has the longest stretch of straight highway in the world. Bob Hawke is the 3rd longest serving prime minister and he did not drink at all when he was prime minister. Fosters is a horrible beer that we only sell overseas so people dont come here and drink all our good stuff. There are more maltese people in Australia than in malta. None of the laws you mention are laws in Australia, I dont know where you got that from, I think some of them are englands laws. One side of Mel Gibsons family is Australian, the other half is American, due to his great grandmother being a great opera singer from the south coast NSW who moved to the US and married an American. And Im putting my drop bear killing stick up for sale because its been ineffective

The "drop bear" is legendary, like dragons or the Bunyip (another legendary Australian animal). It is probably from Aboriginal dreamtime lore, and it may relate to the Thylacoleo or marsupial lion (now extinct).

This video has little on the natural world, which Australia truely excels at. Like the Great Barrier Reef, the largest living thing on Earth (and can be seen on the moon). While North America may have the tallest plant on Earth (the Sequoia conifer), Australia has the tallest flowering plant (or Angiosperm) on Earth, i.e. Eucalyptus Regnans or the Mountain Ash or Swamp Gum (depending on your location). Found in Southern Victoria and Tasmania.

Number 14 about the laws is completely wrong
@merf907 жыл бұрын
ACtually no, the keys in the ignition is a law. And the bale of hay, while it will never be enforced again, related to the old days when you got around in a horse and buggy and the taxis were horse and buggies too. ITs just not been taken out of the lawbooks because nobody enforces it anymore
@Xonphillious6 жыл бұрын
Broxalax I know how to use google, what’s your point?
@mysteriousgirl44387 жыл бұрын
All these people saying the laws are bullshit, yes I live here and have never heard of them and know they are definitely not enforced, but unless you have studied law you probably wouldn’t have a clue what half the laws are. Most laws that are made are never removed, I have heard of some crazy laws like like walking your goat in town on a Sunday or somewhere along those lines, seems crazy now but in a small colony in the 1800’s there was probably a reason for it
@michaelpillingnow6 жыл бұрын

Those first 2 'weird rules' are absolute rubbish! They are not even close to being true. Also, singing songs with swearing out loud is only an offence because swearing in public is an offence, it's got nothing to do with the singing part. In all honesty, I think that Australians swear more, and use more offensive words in public than any other culture or country, without being caught for it.

Saro Maligaspe are you joking? You never heard about the Aboriginal people of Australia and how they live under the occupation of the british there? Dont forget the head of Australia is the queen.
@saromaliga59377 жыл бұрын
Luke I I don’t need to ‘hear about them’ I live with them. I am Australian, so I know what I’m talking about. We don’t ‘live under the occupation of the british’ what is this, the 1800s? We are a sovereign nation. And I stand by what I said. This is an amazing county and millions of Australians would agree with me too. Thanks. Bye 🤘🏾
@LukeXMV7 жыл бұрын
Saro Maligaspe you are not a sovereign country. Is this what they tell you at school? And look what you did and doing to the Aboriginal people. Kind of nazi to most of us. So not sure if you are proud to be a nazi??? Or what?
@saromaliga59377 жыл бұрын
Luke I first, Australia has been a sovereign nation and independent from the uk since 1986. This is a fact. Not sure what they’re teaching you at ur school. Second, where are you from? Third, at this point, based on the information provided, it is clear that you don’t know what you are talking about.
@LukeXMV7 жыл бұрын
Saro Maligaspe please educate me more when Australia proclaimed the independence. And why you have the English queen as head of your country. And maybe write what for are the governor- generals in each state and what are their roles. You live there and you have no idea about your governing system and status of your country? Do they brainwash you there? I tbink so. Independent country ha ha. You confuse Australia with the USA.
