This is exactly the kind of aerial tips I've been looking for. After learning the basics of UAV flying, no matter what type, everyone needs info like this to improve their videos.

Thanks for the great work. Love the shot of the bridge at 0:15.You hit the most important tip first - "go slow". This is so important. There is an added benefit to shooting slow movements, that is not addressed in this video. It is very easy to speed up video that is too slow. As long as nothing live is in the shot (birds, people), you can speed up shots quite a bit and they will still look great. Slowing down video is not as easy. Slowed down video will usually look very choppy because of duplicated frames. Thanks for the motion blur tip at 6:38. This is one I haven't been doing, but will start. This should help with some of the moire patters when moving over water, through trees, and over roofs.

+Gaming isnotacrime are there specific reasons you prefer After Effect to Premiere?
@YeagerFilm8 жыл бұрын
+Kenneth Everett I find the effects options to be much more user friendly in After Effects. Easier to color grade, stabilize footage, etc. After exporting from After Effects, I will usually import that footage into Premiere Pro and complete the edit with music, titles, etc.

Any reason why you use AE rather than Premiere Pro? I understand the warp stabilizer in AE, but distortion, and colour grading can be done in PP. Or better still, Speed Grade.

Would the Parrot bebop drone be good enough for short film or even proper film cinematography?
@YeagerFilm9 жыл бұрын
+John Rambo I'm not as familiar with Parrot's drones, but I know they are growing in popularity. I looked up the specs I could find. Yes, I think they would be good enough for short film. Not ideal for commercial cinematography though. The limiting factor would be the camera, since it is "built-in" the drone and can't be tilted up or down, which is going to limit the angles that would be possible. I've seen photos from the drone though and they look good. For video I would just keep the movements slow. The dynamic range on the camera will probably be limiting too, so filming while facing the sun may cause the image to over expose. Great entry level drone though and since it is smaller it can fly in spaces close to the ground that larger drones can't!
