Performance & Personality is a definite must nowadays. The editing is the flair and can be time intensive especially for small KZbinrs. We focused on the messaging of the content to the issues/topics people care about. On thumbnails, sometimes, it will take 2 hours+ with Photoshop, but well worth it with increase traction.

I think that writing the book helped me organize all these thoughts and I’m rethinking the foundations of becoming a content creator. I’ve spent a decade documenting what I’ve been doing at it’s out there. Repetition is the foundation art, fitness, martial arts and trade skills. So are mastering basic things and doing them fluidly and subconsciously. I think that can be layered with depth and easier to understand frameworks. That’s my ultimate goal. To make this as clear and easy to approach as it can be.

I can say that Long form over shorts. Build long form content. Thats a far better priority than shorts. I checked the search terms for the shorts i posted that got decent views and they had absolute nothing to do with a kid stealing a football from a field. It was random search terms that it went into. So youtube throws random shorts anywhere. Absolutely not making shorts a priority. They are useless unless they change all that. Thats why people are seeing random shorts from topics or randomness they aren’t into. Focus on long form content here, do short content on tik tok!

You have some of the best advice on youtube. I can vouch for this as I started uploading regularly couple of months back. One of my videos got more than a thousand views pretty quickly and others around 400 plus, this got me monetized within 2 months, incredible right! but the more niche videos on my channel like the current series I am doing on life in Toronto, Canada - named "Toronto Walks" is doing really well for me in terms of RPM while videos with 3 or 4 times more views have lower RPM. So although I am in a very early phase with my channel but its critical to start developing a niche. But with the Canadian winters it might be difficult for me to stick to these walking around town videos haha

If it is magic related it is 1-3. However I have been trying to get better at other creators because sometimes it can be 10-100 but I am changing that trend and trying to engage every single time if the video caught my attention. I like it and comment and then if I find it to be something that is intriguing then I subscribe and then binge watch 10+ videos.

@@RobertoBlake Also my engagement strategy is like the golden rule, do unto others... when I watch somebody's video even if I am just listening I watch it all the way through and usually comment something about the content. I make the attempt to make my view as worth while to the creator as possible. I take what I know ( and what I have learned... cough cough from Roberto mostly...) and I apply that as a viewer to help that channel. I mean I live on KZbin anywhere and spend most of my free time absorbing KZbin content even when I am not actively creating so why not take the time to be effective for other creators.
