Todays my birthday I’m 37, I was a struggling line cook nearly 2 decades ago. I couldn’t find any content to help me get better at my job back in 2008 and I am less experienced than I’d like to be at this point than I would have been with those resources. My videos are targeted at line cooks and chefs that keep screwing up and just don’t know what to do. My avatar is basically me all those years back.

I’m a toy collector. My friends thought it was interesting and said I should start a KZbin channel. I love making videos first of all just because I love the creative process, and secondly I love hearing from my viewers and getting other ideas from them for future videos. It’s just fun and rewarding to create something.

I've been in a major funk lately myself. I took a week off and it was so nice! But honestly, it didn't seem long enough. Making videos has begun to feel like a requirement rather than something I enjoy doing for fun. Advice for anyone feeling like this, don't feel obligated to make so many a week! Dial it back and allow yourself to make a video when you feel like it. You are still in the driver's seat. You don't have to quit to take a break. My goal is going to be 2 videos a week, rather than the 3-4 I was cranking out plus the live. Putting so much pressure on yourself can stifle creativity. God bless!

Awesome video, dude! First video that I've seen from your channel, and you are damn right! First about people wanting sucess and all thing fast on the fist day, and that never works. If you want to achive anything in life you have to dedicate yourself. I remember when I was creating my first app, endless sleepless nights, the hustle, the grind, the nay sayers, and when I lunched It was a huge success and all my haters had to shut. And then about doing it because you like it, there is no way that you can do something for a long time and does not burnout if you dont like it! Its like sticking to a job you hate, waiting for a bonus right around the corner. Some Eric THomas vibes on the "know your why". Keep up with the good work. Im gonna be a big youtuber as well! o/ ps: nice name hahaha

The reason I make videos on KZbin is because it is my passion but my main reason for making KZbin videos is because I really enjoy editing my videos with no help. I get to learn new things as I edit & it's more fun to play around with the videos to see if it would be something you would share or cut from the video. I also enjoy writing scripts for my videos but the best part is doing the voice over. I enjoy that the most because it keeps the video from being all over the place & since I have been reading scripts my speaking is way better than ever but still can improve more as I go. That is my why for being a content creator.

Such a good point. By making videos, you are learning so much about editing, writing, script writing and more about your favorite topics. You learn about color grading, how sound design works. The reason why I make videos is because I enjoy talking about games. Not only I want to let people know about what's happening in video games in terms of news but also share my opinions on a certain game that came out that I was super interested in. But if at some point , my youtube channel can be a way to quit my job then yes I would do that. Believe it or not , I still don't know if this "why" is even good enough. But I truly feel empty and odd when I am not making videos because not only I miss talking about something I like but also replying to some comments that people decide to write.

I like the comment "...if your current job doesn't give you the lifestyle that you want". While my job doesn't bring in six figures, which I think is emphasized too much, it allows me to meet my needs and keep my KZbin channel as a hobby.

To answer your question, I make videos because they make me happy and others happy too. We need a break from our daily stress and I'm hoping my videos can do that. 😻

My why was because I, along with millions of others, was laid off during the early stages of the pandemic so I wanted to do something creative and not have to depend on someone else to provide me a paycheck.

That’s what is motivating a lot of people. I recommend freelancing for cashflow while creating. Like I said it took me years to make money from Adsense, but the Amazon influencer program made money for me faster but I did a tech video each week for months to get that going

I've started my channel with the goal to leave something behind for my kids. So that they can look at those videos in 20 or 30 years and might get a kind memory. I would love to have something like this from my father. Then a few people subscribed and suddenly I was staring at views and likes and stats and got frustrated when no one watched my stuff. This video is an important reminder. Thanks for making this video.

MR. Blake.... I dontnwatch you all of the time because I was too busy learning the basics from others a few years ago. Now that I am getting used to this platform, and it keeps morphing, I am watching your stuff more. Honestly, I think it's because you took the break that your content is really relevant to me now. Anyway, this vid and the " create 100 crappy vids" content really is some great stuff. Am not focusing on the numbers anymore and that is a game changer in itself. Relief. Freedom. Just focus on my message, helping others mentally. Even you teach mental health

Really interesting to hear about the number of silver play buttons in the US and especially the UK (where I live) puts it in perspective compared to the population of my town and the nearest city. Very encouraging video, Roberto. I'm going out filming this weekend after taking too long a break from creating. 👍

This really gives me hope! Thank you so much for your awesome content! I came across your channel about 2 weeks ago, and I’m so happy I did! I’ve seen small amounts of improvement since taking some of your advice. (Baby Steps. I’m patiently awaiting my Giant Steps or Leaps & Bounds! I FEEL IT COMING)! The transparency you exhibit in sharing your own journey, makes my Faith over Fear attitude a bit stronger! 🙌🏾 You take time to break your content down, and take your time doing so. No fast talk, like some other creators I’d subscribed to, then quickly unsubscribed. It’s aggravating and makes me feel like I’m about to get scammed! 😄 Like a Used Car Salesman “Back in the day!” 😅 Keep the good content coming, Sir!

I'm starting a hockey brand and manufacturing business. So KZbin I plan on showcasing my designs of my jerseys that I will be selling. Not only that I want to make it into a tv show something that dives deep into my designs and vision. I have been working at this company for going on 3 years. KZbin wise I am working on the content currently just need to add music, and motion graphics. I'm also a photographer and have quality glass. Lighting and audio I need to work on a little bit. So KZbin will play a part because not only am I showing my skill, but I'm also providing a service. Hopefully to gain leagues and clients outside of KZbin and grow not just online, but outside of the KZbin space.

I started creating KZbin videos to create an online presence for myself. I have an ambitious plan to create an educational foundation to help all the disadvantaged students I teach. I didn't want to create an education channel, but I wanted to create a channel about something I was interested in: faith, femininity, beauty, and lifestyle skills. So, I started my channel around May of this year. I'm not confident with my progress since I only have about 58 subscribers and rarely get views. For some reason, I expected to do better since it's been almost five months going on six months. I told myself that I would give it another five to six months before I decided to cut my losses--after all, I am having some fun creating my videos. However, I am a teacher, and teaching and creating videos simultaneously is challenging. Perhaps things may change within the next six months, but so far, that is my plan. Even if I am not successful in creating an impactful online presence, I will still achieve my dreams with my foundation.

I used to record with vhs. I just like it. I never asked myself why. I think one reason is to document my life; something to look back on. It is rewarding, I have so much to learn, and never paid attention to the equipment side of it. I struggled with multiple channels or one. I decided on a vlog channel, and a music channel. I enjoy watching the big dogs on youtube, like yourself. I learned something, and got inspired to keep going.

Oh wow! I’m at 394 and I have 108 videos. I started to show my online store but switched gears and I enjoy what I do now. The good thing is I can record a bunch of videos in a day and then edit afterwards. It helps me to not burn out. My other KZbin channel I stopped a long time ago. I didn’t like my content, I didn’t niche down so I was having trouble making content.

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my KZbin channel 9 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,528 subs and > 1,000 hours of watch time. @@RobertoBlake Whoever you are, I don't know you personally but I can say that you're one of the non-judgmental and open-minded people who is not fixated on tangible or external factors in order to learn from someone like me. Just because someone doesn't have a piece of paper as a credential, doesn't mean that person is not entitled to share personal experiences with the hope & intention to inspire others. Keep up with whatever it is that you're doing to improve mankind or improving your life even to a slight degree each day. This is just one part of a bigger puzzle for creating my KZbin channel about holistic health. I literally could have died back when I was 14 years old due to major depression but here I am right now replying to you, a KZbinr, who's full of fulfillment and dedication to help others to be a better version of themselves. I ain't better than anyone else but my old self. That's all that really makes this KZbin thing more meaningful and enjoyable. Thanks so much for your support! I am hoping that you can join me with this endless personal development journey! :)

I have roughly 80 videos and after putting more effort into better content over the past year I nearly doubled my subscribers, became monetized, and I'm finally starting to gain traction. Again, only 80 videos and over half of them were lame with zero planning. Do I get discouraged? YES!! Every single day. But, I have to remind myself that I must be doing something right and to keep plugging away. The hardest part is coming up with ideas for new content and the mind games of starting over with a new channel or transitioning my current one. That's not easy though.

Rest, don't quit. It would be a waste of all that effort and time and stress that went with building your channel from the ground up. A lot of small youtubers get dissatisfied when their expectations don't match what is shown in reality. It's the ones that want to build a brand, or see youtube as their business that succeed. You need to get past the stagnant times, way past the time frame you would normally quit something. Then it becomes a solid habit you won't want to quit on. If you get bored, change it up, expand your content. Trial and error.
