When his night was on d5, it could be attacked by a pawn, so its not an outpost. Both players had 2 bishops 1 knight, you wouldnt want to give up your bishop pair for the knight unless your knight is outposted.

Mcallen! Ayuh, I used to live near a small town in the Rio Grande named Mcallen...Went down there to the VA center once in a while. Lotta history in that area...The insurance companies that moved into the valley during the 60s boom is interesting. Plenty of corruption across the whole region south of San Antone. That's the way it was 30 years ago, and unless you're backed with a great deal of money, that's likely how it will stay for the foreseeable future.

That kid is 2142, you must be kidding. He was nervous the whole time, he didn't see that back rank mate coming, he was totally clueless about what to move next in the middle game. Hikaru is playing so many of these 'coffee shop' games, his brain must have turned to jello. I hope he still stays sharp and does his own training. Why is there no video of his matches with GMs or at least those in the 2500 category or higher? It's entertaining and fun to laugh at thrashers, kids, seniors who are playing purely for fun. But what about those who are more interested to check good, tough matches? Are there even any matches Hikaru played against GMs and higher-rated FiDE players? Not those from Tournaments but from these Coffee Shop games.
