Actually, when Agadmator said to find a move, I spotted it almost right away because that's the only move that can save the queen so it's easy. However, Keres would have had to see that before deciding that capturing the knight was safe. Without Agadmator telling us there is something in the position to look for, it's a completely different story :-D

In my experience, strictly as an amateur chess player, it's one thing to outplay your opponent and be in a somewhat "won" position, and proceed from there and actually checkmate your opponent. After you get the winning position, you cant mentally let down on your level of play. Your opponent goes into a defensive strategy. You could make the claim that a winning position isnt necessarily going to be an easy win.

They say that towards the end of his life Tal used to drink white wine and soda or spritzers. Like that he could drink all night.

Dear Agadmator, thanks for your work , your way to talk about chess and explaining the back ground of each game is amazing, but could you please take a look on the playlist section because its very hard to find something there. I was looking for the Tal playlist but still didnt find it, I am not even sure its still there. Thanks to you, take care

Keres must be definitely happy at that movement while Taal was offering his pieces. But later on he would've realised where is it going actually? 😅😅😅

Yes, really enjoyed this game, and for me this is the game that gives Tal the Magician status, simply magical calculations and self-belief

Finding a move is easy like a puzzle. Building up to get to that point is another thing. How do they do that? Don’t even know what to make of it. Just enjoy and admire the human mind!!!!

Brutal. Tal isn't usually considered a positional player except he is. He understands positional chess so well he knows what positions are worth a sacrifice to create. He inverted positional chess theory into an offensive mode. That is what makes him a genius.
