Well played young man - looked calm and organised at the crease, and great off anything short. Just a little thing I noticed early on in the innings, and wondered what Teague and Tom thought about it - off the fuller balls on or around the off stump, Teague's back hip rotates quite early and he finishes his (solid) defensive shots a little too square on. Obviously, not an issue against the white ball, but might be one against the red ball that moves a bit more early on? Deserved a ton, though. Keep up the good work.
@cricketmentoring4 жыл бұрын
Great observation mate and when watching the video I sent him a few examples of that happening. Something for us to work on for sure. While he was solid defending them, it limited his power driving through the offside. Thanks for your thoughts and positivity legend! -Scolls-
@ThePabloMukherjee4 жыл бұрын
No worries Tom. It’s great to see Teague become a class cricketer with the help of your coaching. Here in England, as you know, our season is likely to be cancelled altogether. I don’t know how I will cope with the prospect of no cricket and no summer before another British winter kicks in. But a global pandemic is an extraordinary situation. Your videos are helping me get through the lockdown.

Opening bowlers and wicket looked pretty quick to me, a tad short at times, which happens on our fast bouncy wickets, something our English friends never experience. The lad batted well, respected some very good balls and hit the bad. Good batting. Falls across a bit on balls down the leg side and missed a few opportunities to score down to fine leg, great hook shots.👍

ANONY MOUS I’m guessing the standard bud.
@Vijay-of8xk4 жыл бұрын
ANONY MOUS There seems to be a major drop in standard, but that could just be the team. However, for a 15 year old to be scoring runs in 1st grade opening the batting is still a massive feat, big things to come from the young lad !
@Vijay-of8xk4 жыл бұрын
ANONY MOUS i don’t think most 15 years old can cope in sydney grade cricket, it’s not even the standard of cricket, the sledges you get from the older players, coming up against current and ex nsw player is super scary. I’d probably say he’d have to play a season of 2s before he could go up 1s. 1st grade caps aren’t given out in sydney grade that easily no matter what club
@Vijay-of8xk4 жыл бұрын
ANONY MOUS take manly for example, there bowling line up right now consists of morne morkel, SOK, Mickey Edwards, Jack Edwards and Ryan Hadley- u19 aus quick. No matter how good a 15 year old is, most seasoned professionals would have trouble going up against that line up

A lot more composed than I was at that age. Only comment is his actual running between the wickets. He should sometimes switch the bat to his right hand when touching in as he has a habit of facing the wrong way and not having a clear view of the ball to decide if there should be a second or third run. Other than that, keep up the good work!

Cricket Mentoring- Online coaching, tips & advice.... What the!? I was heaps faster and accurate than these bowlers in the under 14's in 1985. Even though I was a bit skinny, due to a growth spurt, I was blessed with strength, broad shoulders and long arms and bowled with Thomo's action because he was my hero so I bowled like a maniac. I'm not trying to brag or sound cruel, but my little sister was scarier than these blokes and I blame their coaches. The A graders coached us and let us bowl whatever came naturally. Same with the batting. Sometimes they gave some of us a go in C grade, to see how we went and no-one held back , that's for sure. That's how we hardened up and improved. Sorry to say but this is rubbish!!

You can definitely play grade cricket, we have some international students playing at our local grade clubs here in Victoria. It may depend on each state's regulations regarding "professional" or "International" players though as sometimes their status can be different. As for qualifying for PR through playing cricket that is not common and in the past has been for players with existing international or 1st Class records in their home countries e.g. Murray Goodwin (WA and Zimbabwe), Fawad Ahmed (Pak ??). Henry Olonga (Zimbabwe) who came here on refugee status I believe is another former cricketer who now resides here.
