What's unclear is did they do this in 4hrs and thus = 8hr since they're 2 detailers? Because most of the job was rushed IMHO. The headlights needed another go still had residual haze and they even had bird poop etching that they completely ignored. I get that it's just a freebie for the mother of 2 but this isn't what you should expect from a professional detail. This was more of a local "by hand car wash" detail.

The thing is in order to let your car get that dirty you sorta have to not give a damn about your car and your image. But she was used to doing neither of those so it is only obvious that she didn't get excited over seeing her car clean again, at least she didn't try to fake a reaction.

@gingerninja24562 жыл бұрын
I don't waste money on expensive motors; that is what motorcycles are for, but I like having a quality old family vehicle. If the engine bay is clean it makes problems stand out, keeps your local garage happy and makes routine maintenance less of a chore. What worries me about filthy family runabouts is the obvious lack of regular safety and levels checks. When I worked on motorways it was often this type of car that was awaiting recovery, that's not a good place to have your family. Cleaning and maintenance can keep people safe. You guys do a great job, I am going to find that unused stam cleaner.

Tax disc bits needed removing along with any residue. You could smarten those wheel trims up £15 a piece off eBay. A new set of genuine rubber mats front and rear (won’t be cheap but will last longer than the car). New plates front and rear from a local VW dealership really do freshen a car up. Those are four things I’d have done.

Go for something like (800 if really bad) > 1200 > 2000 > heavy > medium > light compounds for a decent finish. Remember to seal with something afterwards. Compounding can be done with a drill and some cheap pads from amzn if you don't have specific kit. Off the shelf kits are usually 800 1500 2000 3000 papers and a single stage compound. I use Menzerna 1000 2400 3500 compounds, always done the job well enough. You have to do a 2 stage compound as a minimum, the heavy cut leaves blur/clouding. Good luck. Use some light compound on the rear lights as well, it makes a huge difference to clarity.
