I don’t agree with her being bratty, but I weirdly understand her; when you become used to a certain level of comfort, it’s very difficult to even imagine experiencing anything less than. It’s easy for people who have never had that kind of money at their disposal to make fun of her because they don’t get it. I think she should speak to someone who used to be rich and lost everything or is currently living modestly, about how to be able to be okay with letting go of the luxury and finding a different kind of comfort in modest living.

In Spain I pay about half in a grocery store than I do here to compare difference. I could also live pretty decent in u.s.a as a tourist. :D I remember in Spain a dude I tlaked with that worked the area in the apartment complex I lived. He said he make 13.000 NKR a month after tax. To compare I get disability ca 18000 NKR in Norway while a worker in a grocery store makes around 18 usd hour. I guess if that pay is around half in the states then the states must be heaven for me to live in even on disability pension from Norway. Weird how different things is.

It scares me. When I look at this girl, all I see is a shell. I can't see into her! Just like a designer bag or an expensive brand new car or piece of furniture... There's nothing else :( People call her all sorts of names but I'm just very worried for her. I don't see feeling or conscience or even negative emotions. I really hope she got and accepted the help that she needed.

Generally that only works for a short time, unfortunately. It's not an illogical way of thinking though. Generally, the most effective way to not worry about first world problems is indeed to be hungry. But it requires a lot of discipline to live that way in the first world for many and it can even be exhausting if there is too much temptation. That's why it's so great to practice a sport you enjoy: it puts you a little bit in that "living in the present, pragmatic and problem solving survival mode", which is great for distracting your mind from silly problems I find.

Mother should be a light that point the way of empathy and better understanding. She is maintaining a national waste insted of an asset of society. I feel bad on that lady. Because I have seen this same experience in my life. But it was a father and son. Whatever it is life shows us unexpecting variety of things.

Her mom is actually secretly proud of the fact that her daughter has been having access to everything that she desires since she was born. Imagine basing your whole relationship rationale with your child on his/her whims. There you have it! The result is this 15 years old girl emitting a well-exercised, speculative and theatrical attitude to obtain what she desires, while her mom is outright mandated to financially handle the bombastic requests.

I can understand why a lot of people in the comments are blaming the mother. I think the daughters behaviour is absolutely disgusting, at least the mother knows that a lavish lifestyle isn't everything. Her daughter will soon realise that she'll need to work, she will have to move out eventually and fend for herself. What if she wants a boyfriend, surely the situation of her living with her mother is slightly off putting to the extent he might want a place for the both of them. Will she demand he works and brings in all the income while she spends every last penny of his until his next pay day? People then can't then blame the mother, if this was in the UK and up in the North East where its one of the cheapest places to live, she wouldn't last two minutes! Brats like her only want, want, want. I'd have issued an ultimatum, then threatened to kick her out unless she finds a job within a specific time frame. Failure to comply, she'll be out on her arse!

The problem with this child probably comes from the parents trying to "buy" her love and live their rich and famous lifestyle to impress other people. The whole family needs a reality check!! Not the girl's fault she's spoiled because they made her spoiled! The real world has some hard times coming to her. I pity any man she dates.
