$150 DIY Upholstered Modern Headboard (No Experience Necessary!)

Here is how I made an upholstered headboard in just two days for under $150!

Batting
Fabric

For anyone looking to cut cost, I recommend using OSB boards over plywood. It has the same structural qualities as plywood, but isn't as pretty. But you won't see it anyway.

Hi there, you did a great job! I made 2 upholstered headboards that came out pretty good. The only difference I did from what your instructions were was that instead of spraying the adhesive to the foam, I sprayed the plywood and the foam adhered.

Nah Cement glue for upholstery is way better.... that spray adhesive and 3m adhesive release soon as it gets warm in your home...

I did a similar design 8 years ago. Difference was I bought 4 20x24" canvas from Michaels. Picked up fence hardware from Home Depot to attach the 4 pieces together. Used spray adhesive I picked up at Michaels as well as a roll of cotton batting. Sprayed the canvas, putting the cotton batting on the canvas. Picked up fabric at Fabric land (fabric store up here), and stapled gunned it with an arrow staple gun with 3/8" staples that I had already picked up at Home Depot years ago. My apt we are not allowed to screw into the walls, but there is a picture rail that I used 1/4" offsets from Michaels to hang it off the rail behind my bed. I am an 18+ year Michaels Team Member. It still hangs above the bed.

OMG! OMG! I did this exact same thing 3 years ago with an old bathroom door that was in my garage. I wrapped it with dacron batting and stapled gray sunbrella fabric over it, and it looks fabulous. I just found your channel yesterday and love it!❤
