I just bought some led lights from aquastyleonline. Super cheap and they've had good reviews. My corals look great. I've documented my 75g on my channel. I'm gonna do a video on the lights soon. Also, for dry live rock, they sell caribsea dry rock on amazon for pretty cheap. I have some in my tank and I'm happy with it. Good luck! Your videos are great.

Pretty much my exact plan. I did this with the nano too. I started with base rock and a small piece of live rock to seed it. No surprises or bad hitchhikers. This tank will be seeded from the nano live rock so no big worries. I have heard good things about Dr. Tims but never used it myself. Since im seeding from my nano, I wont need it but I am thinking about letting the tank cycle with the rock rather than in a tub. Thanks for the advice!!

First, sweet build! Secondly I don't know if your doing these things already but you will need a ro di unit. If ur having sps coral get an overrated protein skimmer. And I'd go with LEDs, u seem like a DIY guy so check out aquastyle and rapid led they are cheap and look stunning. Melves reef on reef addicts has a similar build to urs if ud like to check it out too. Make sure u use reef salt and I'll be fine! Reef tanks are worth all time and money. Also check out frag swaps in ur area for cheap

Thanks! RO/DI is on the list. If you caught my videos on the 10 gallon, I am still running that with tap water but RO/DI will be on the 150 for sure. Its worth the piece of mind for $200 or so. My tank will be softies and LPS, except for some monti caps so I an experimenting with an ATS and adding a skimmer later if the ATS does as i expect. Plus LPS like "dirty" water from what i read so we shall see. I left room for one in case i'm wrong.

if you have the time... you can let the tank cycle with no liverock(no pests or algae introduction). you can also use some dr tims one and only, works very well.

Oh and buy dry live rock, it's cheaper and looks better after things grow on it. I'll need to seed the dry rock with Liverock though.

Thanks! In the end, if all does not go well, its going to make a wonderful cichlid tank!! lol

@jimmyx36 sweet! I'd love to see a video of your LEDs man! @joegecko what do u mean by ats? I know of an ato system which is an auto top off. A skimmer will be expensive for your tank system but trust me they are worth every penny, also I forgot about wavemakers. If u can afford vortechs get some, if not put some Maxijets in there. Those things rock. Good luck man and good job on your videos!

well while im commenting on old videos, i have been using a glass-holes overflow that has been repurposed 3 times on 29g tanks, works great, sometimes a little leak here and there that takes some fiddling with, but really like them, drilling was scary though

Funny you mention that..check out the new video when I post it tonight or tomorrow, I just got 205 lbs of dry rock... for $38. I explain in the video. :)
