Brilliant as always! Like how you exercized the Audi 😃 Fun to see how your pellets going to perform in that range. I have tried that range in my .25 stx with King and mk2 with ok results.

H&N FOREVERRRRR 😂 😂 Very nice Gert, as usual. The group ''against'' the wind (and logic) could be a wirl down range, wich one can never gess. Also, we can only know how strong the wind is from where we shoot, not down there. Maybe with a kestrel in the camera frame next to the target...without hitting it of course.😁 👍 👍

Thank goodness I had a steel drop target in front of my Gopro (Gopro at target), I hit the steel no less than 3 times today... My gorpo would have been a NOPro with the hitting power of those slugs.

The H&N's are lazer accurate. I just wish they expanded a bit better, they seem to go like a needle through an object, when hunting you need to hit vitals... at 100m I can't guarantee that I am that good a shooter to hit vitals every time on a dove or other critter.

Which 25gr H&N slug do you find to be generally more accurate out of the superior liner, the .217 or the .218. Thanks
@AimSmall4 жыл бұрын
The weird thing is that the gun shoots both with little to no difference in impact, I know my gun loves 217's so it was very strange that the H&N's in 218 was accurate as well, it is the only slug that I couldn't find a remarkable difference. All the other makes showed big differences between 217 and 218.

i found the same , with .30 jsb 44.39 grain pellets wind from the left shots went left and higher at 150 meters with a dreamline . a perfect shot is the one that lands at the first try otherwise its luck, the groups are not better with slugs compared with pellets at that distance (30 cal)
@AimSmall4 жыл бұрын
I shot 100m right after I shot the 150m slugs, I found a massive difference in grouping in the .22 due to the wind (both 18,13gn and 25,39gn), busy with video... As for the weird going to the right, there is another possibility, it might be that the slug design is of such a nature that it starts turning into the wind at a certain distance, almost like a badminton shuttlecock. Especially if the wind is at a 45 degree angle.

@@AimSmall yes a projectile wil always turn to one side ,thats caused by the rotation of the projectile and rotation energy that losing that way by the friction in the air, maybe in the wind its more from a certain direction or shape of the projectile ,dont ,forget that the slugs for airguns looks more like a small pistol bullet then a rifle`s ,spitser boattail , by the way i always walk the 150 (is 300 when back)meters ,you get healthy for free :-)

They are all good, depends on what you want to shoot, I chose the superior heavy as it is brilliant with pellets and heavier slugs. If you prefer lighter slugs you can use the standard stx superior liner.

don’t you think you should have done some harmonies for each brand ? to get the best out of it
@AimSmall4 жыл бұрын
Thank you sir, I understand what you are getting at, but it is impossible to tune a single gun to run 8 different slugs all harmonically tuned. For that i would need 8 guns as each slug will differ on weight, speed and harmonics. Running the slugs at +- 950 fps I did a lot of 40m testing with all the slugs, my gun is purring at the moment and will do exceptional groupings with all 8 slugs @ 40m. I did a 100m follow up shoot in the same conditions, just need time to edit them. Much better results as can be expected.
@happyhalfwit88624 жыл бұрын
Possible answer to your odd wind. Did you check the zero with that particular slug or just work on the theory its 23gr it should be the same. Different slugs can give wildly different zero points. I know its a bit of teaching granny to suck eggs. Other possibility is that the wind may well have been varying a lot all the way down so what u felt at the barrel could easily have been different to mid and target. For that mirage is your friend
@AimSmall4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Happy, I used the mirage a lot, but because of the chilly morning air there was no mirage, a bit later I did do 100m and the mirage was very helpful. What is not shown on the camera is me zeroing each slug @ 150m so it isn't zero points. I tried to eliminate as many factors as I can. Will watch the grass and dust with an eagle eye next time.

Hi Danny, there is always wind where I stay, it is a coastal area. The wind is part of the honest review, I don't do the glorified 5 shot groupings in perfect conditions, I am not trying to sell anything.lol. The main reason for shooting in the wind is to show how good slugs keep their speed and how good they are in wind, my next video I will show the effect on the same pellets in the same windy conditions. Scary.
