Some great advice Matt. Some of us at the shooting club realized that we had a problem with some new guns with shooting them without cleaning them first. After several cleans things tightened up and are still improving. Glad to see that you are still making these great videos. Long may it continue.

Yes. The first time I viewed the video there was an add for something hunting or shooting related...can't remember exactly. I viewed it at a later time to see if there would be advertisement again and there was. It was for Amazon. Also I am starting to see advertisements on some other channels that show shooting sports related topics. Hope things are getting back to normal. I really enjoy your channel. I can't always get away to hunt myself so it's nice to see what others are doing in other parts of the world related to shooting and hunting. Thanks.

Matt you were obviously premature with your Crown comment. I think the only thing that would pry the impact out of your hands would be a semi-suto impact with the same accuracy and reliability of the impact. Thanks for all you do, Matt. @airarmshuntingsa Ive asked fx about the "fouling" in the barrel, it protects the inside from rusting and they leave it there as they do not know how long a rifle will be stored and what enviroment it will be stored in. polished, untreated surfaces are, as we know, prone to rusting. Have a nice day, love your channel!

ClashGunsReviews"Still holding my grounds on the center fire use on his Airguns founded channel. I agree on the fact that so much can be learnt and applied from each side of the weapons class but , one thing is to talk about how one can benefit from the other without having to show center fire hunting videos on the Airguns based channel. That could be posted on a different channel itself. Not against center fire guns at all, just trying to give my honest opinion here as a very loyal follower since the beginning of the great experience and knowledge Matt has brought us when he started his hunting videos here. His channel, his decisions , and our opinions. Still love those nice precise high power rifles they have none the less! Keep the good stuff flowing Matt, and hope you get the bugs sorted out about the money cut off on the videos. Best regards!

There are plenty of channels that use fire arms. But ,there are only a very few of GREAT airgun shooting channels like yours,Ted"s ,your buddy AirGunnerSA just to name a few. Great job and I am sure you wont loose any popularity from your loyal viewers like me included, I will just stick to the airgun ones which I love. By the way, I wasn't included in the survey! I know that this an older video of the FX Impact in .25 cal. 700mm barrel; I just purchased; the 1st FX Impact, I've owned. And I've already tuned the regulator up to the "max power" (150 bar) allowed for warranty reasons and I didn't want to mess up my brand new gun either; also followed the steps to the gun manuel. The only thing that I didn't do was clean the gun barrel before I shot it, and it seemed to throw pellets in different places but after I shot it 25-50 shots it cleaned itself and shot accurately. When weather permits; I will shoot it and before I do; I will run some air gun oil threw it on a patch (dry patch 1st) and then shoot it; and see what happen then. It may not help but a dry patch will not hurt it with a little oil after the dry patch is ran through it. I also purchased a decent scope on it Hawk Airmax 30 III on it. it seemed to work ok make sure you get good rings also which unfortunately when the sold them to me they cheep crap... Later on, I will get some fully adjustable rings for it because these are lousy cheap rings. I had to use shims on it to get it to shoot at more than 100+ yards accurately with maxing the turrets out. One final point don't buy get cheap stuff for a $2,000+ gun.
@andychapman99566 жыл бұрын
from what i understand from a few other channels, there is a rather simple fix for leaky air guns. more often than not it is not necessary to completely replace the o rings,if they are simply dried out a bit (but not damaged) running a drop of oil through the system will get things working again. i do not recall the type of oil used, how ever if you take off the air tank place a drop of oil in the port reattach the tank and take a few shots, the seals should tighten.

Hi Matt, so glad to see you looking happier than the video you made about the potential difficulties with You Tube. I've watched pretty much all your videos to date and thoroughly enjoyed them and found them informative. I always look forward to seeing your videos turn up on my "subscribed" short list. I love both my Wildcat and Impact and they are my favourite FX rfiles out of my collection. I wonder if the FX Crown is that different from Impact; not in the shape but in the machinary. I control vermin and pests using my air rifles but believe exclusively in humane shooting and in almost all cases what I shoot will be used as food. For CF rifles, I don't have a .260 Rem but have very similar in a .243 and a .25-06. Always been dreaming of coming to SA for a safari but just not done it yet!! Have you thought about producing a DVD of your hunts (both with air rifles [esp. with FX Impact, etc.] and larger game with CF rifles). Hope your financial circumstances improve and things work out, and give some thought to making DVDs - you're a natural presenter. All the best and look forward to more videos from you. Best wishes.

Shooting air rifles with a good mil dot scope does translate into long range center fire shooting. You will learn a lot about windage and bullet drop with an air rifle. You will do a lot more shooting and save gas and time as you will not have to travel as far to shoot the air rifle.

Saludos.

Hi Mat, What you say about the speed of the charge makes a lot of sense. My unregulated rifle is very accurate but I see a change in the POI from a full charge to the other side of the power curve when the velocities are equal. The change is so subtle that you can't see it in even ten shot groups, but shot one to shot thirty may vary by as much as 15-20mm at 25 metres.
@AirArmsHuntingSA7 жыл бұрын
+Ian Wishart Yes, that's what I noticed with my unregged rifles as well. My Daystate Wolverine is SUPER accurate and velocities are very consistent across the whole string, but I used to get very frustrated thinking my scope was out, all the time, not realizing that it was just a POI shift due to pressure differences.
@eaglebeak19247 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply, Mat. I thought to install a reg. might be the fix but that only resulted in flattening the power curve to the bottom and reducing the shot count by 20%. I have tried different hammer spring and reg. settings, but I prefer the performance of the unregged set up. With the different states of tune and pellet, the direction of the POI changes left to right, up to down or visa Versa. Very strange.
@mariosharidimou35087 жыл бұрын
As always an excellent and informative video.I have a couple of questions for you Matt. 1. At what power do you have the hammer spring when you start to adjust the regulator? Is it at MAX or MIN? 2. I have a 0.177 Impact that came at 100 bar reg pressure. I just purchased a 0.22 barrel kit. What would you consider a good reg pressure so I can switch between 0.177 and 0.22 and just adjust the hammer spring tension? Thank you very much and keep those videos coming...

I am just now getting into the PCP world from centerfire, and more recently small bore competitive shooting at 50/100 yards. Have you looked into barrel tuners like are used in the rimfire world? Your FX and one of my 22LR rifles are close as to the FPS they shoot, and my gun is junk without the tuner. OK not junk, but the groups go from 1.60" down to 0.750" at 100 yards to give you an idea of the effect. We really don't have adjustments like you do, and the barrel and ammo FPS are the factors......and the tuner. Have fun, G.

Hi Matt, I'm fairly new in air gunning. I recently acquired an FX Impact in .22 cal. I have determined that the JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy (18.13 grains) is the best pellet for my gun. I have zeroed my gun at 25 yards (I have a fairly high mount) and my average muzzle velocity is about 895 fps. Can you publish the trajectory of this setup or better still show how to determine the pellet drop?
@waltertansini86036 жыл бұрын
A good tool to help you with this, is called Chairgun. Just enter the pellet and power information and you will get a good idea of what the pellet does at what distance. I personally do not take the results as gospel, as there are many external factors and tolerances that have a significant influence, but it help in general prediction. www.hawkeoptics.com/chairgun.html
