I just loved this video. I’ve been following you for a while and will get your book for Christmas 😊. Are you thinking of doing a tarot journal with prompts and spreads for shadow work? I think it would be marvelous. Any recommendations? Patsy

I love the spread with shadow - integration action - outcome! Going to try it. Feeling urged to do a bit o' the ol' shadow work this week.

Casting a spread for an action plan is clever. Do you limit yourself in your spreads when figuring out time spans? Like when you mentioned three weeks and three months. Do you ever cast for further along in the future, or do things start to get fuzzy after a certain amount of time? Does that change depending on what spread you're using?

Long answer ahead. I don't figure out time spans. :) I would only use time periods in Tarot to actively plan a way forward, not to predict the future or 'see' what will definitely be the case. So, there's not really any way for it to 'go fuzzy' if you see what I mean. I definitely endorse the idea of using Tarot to work out action plans and get clear on one's direction. I also believe that it can be used to assess possible upcoming energies and themes but only with a view to actively planning how to deal with them in preparation. When it gets to a stage where it's just straightforward prediction of future events, I don't see how that's helpful or necessarily possible. It's definitely true that people can and have accurately predicted the future, but I don't think that kind of thing can be 'on tap' for money or how it can happen every time you whip your Tarot deck out (or indeed why you'd even NEED Tarot if you can see the future so clearly). I believe the future is written as we go, not predetermined. So, I believe the best way to address time in Tarot is to use it to decide which words we want to write and when.

The Four Queens I think we're on the same page about the use for Tarot in day to day life. Rather than predicting some future, a 7 Sword and 2 Disk can show me that my next three weeks is about balancing workloads and identifying those activities that steal away minutes or hours of my day from more productive projects. At least for those next three weeks. Thanks for the response!

When you do your shadow work do you turn the cards upside down on purpose?
@kelly-annmaddox11 жыл бұрын
No. :) For me, reversals don't necessarily always denote what is unconscious or negative. If the spread is intended to show me what is in the unconscious, then it will help me to explore that whether or not the cards are reversed.

Oh Ok I was just asking because most of your cards was upside down while you were teaching.
