Does seem like a very fair price - but appears from the map you showed at 3:21 there is more swamp land other than 58 acres? 1/2 of the top parcel is swamp and the 2d/bottom parcel looks mostly swamp--would be difficult to get much wood out if you get to that area on the right that looks well filled in with good wood. Guess you'd have to try to walk the property - definitely a hunters paradise.

When your property is in the tree growth program in Maine, can you still cut down your own trees if you own that property for lumber and firewood?

If your property is enrolled in the program you have a management plan that indicates when you propose to do a commercial timber harvest. That timeline is determined by you and your licensed forester to be appropriate for the age and condition of your forest. Yes you can still harvest your own timber for firewood, which may be part of your plan for timber stand improvement.
