158 - Metallic Glue Gun Lion with Gold Leaf Embellishments

Hey guys - I'm changing things up a bit, as you can probably see from the thumbnail! :-) In a channel first, I've also recorded a voice-over, so have fun listening to my sophisticated (not) Bristolian accent and let me know what you think of the thumbnail and voice-over format in the comments!

OMG I say "umm" so much 😂 - just watching this back now it's published and listening to my first ever voice-over is so weird. Maybe I will have to edit out my umms next time!😳. I also apparently had a lot to say, despite saying at the start that I probably wouldn't say much. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this video - I loved this painting - it's in my top 3 favourites and is currently exhibited on the wall of a gallery.. yay me :-) x

On my videos I edit out the filler words. I have a question, how do you not get the little glue gun hairs? My glue gun art always has it. So annoying.

I do sometimes get them, but I have various ways of mostly avoiding them - if I'm doing long strokes like a single mane piece, I either push the nozzle against the canvas at the end, to essentially wipe it off, or I double back over the line a little, so the hair is on top of the existing glue. If I'm doing blobs, like his whisker bits, I just circle it around the blob a bit without squeezing - a few circles and the hair is too thin and breaks clean :-) x

I can't wait to see your gold overlay. I've tried the Peto kit- and have not been able to get the gold sheets to work!! Always have had to go to loose gold leaf. It shocks me because it looked so easy used by other artist. Must be a secret I have not picked up on. I love the voice over. And I am blessed; I just discovered you and cannot wait to try this!!

RAWWWWWWWWWWTASTIK !!!! Love your umms they sound just like mine :) Wonderful art, that background colour was purrfek choice and the gold leaf had a wonderful effect.
