Is anyone else catching hints that something is off? Cecil (the character not the actor) is acting strange-he is rather bloodthirsty and gloating, especially at the end with the laugh about a story about you would be boring. His tone is, dare I say it, Kevinish. Also, the proverb and the after-proverb ending is rather threatening. Wasn’t the bottomless hole what Kevin was trying to get everyone to build in his desert? I’m thinking that the smiling god might already be here.
@themousemage5 жыл бұрын
I see your point a little, but there's a reason they chose to mention Telly again this episode. It was to remind us how Cecil can get when something of his, or something he wants, is threatened. And don't forget after the attack on Khoshekh - "Daniel looks to have _a lot_ of *blood.* That said, I agree he has been a little odd in general lately, and so has the podcast. There's been a real decrease in the mysteries of old. I hope the post-ending marks a change. Also speaking of the desert - I think that was a reference to the satanic beagle more than the Mudstone Abyss.

@magnoliamadsen10665 жыл бұрын
@@themousemage Awesome! I don't know if I could pick a favorite, they are all so good! I guess I would have to go with episode 25 as my favorite episode (because of the rollercoaster of emotions), and Tamika Flynn as my favorite character. She's just got so much spunk and is not afraid to speak her mind, and I think that's pretty cool. Kevin is a pretty intriguing character, and his voice acting is spectacularly done. The town of Desert Bluffs itself (both 1 and 2) is also very cool. I'm very interested how time is going to affect the story now, especially since the only older person we really knew of was old woman Josie (rip). It also has me wondering (again), how old is everybody in the town by our standard of time? And with time working correctly in this reality of Night Vale, it had me thinking about the diffrent realities, as mentioned in The Birthday of Lee Marvin. I wonder how the other realties were affected, if at all? What are some of your thoughts on this whole time thing?

OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD THAT SCARED ME. I now kinda feel bad about Casper. In the end, he was just another brainwashed/controlled worshipper of the Smiling God, and liked it when "the smile" wasn't there anymore....until, well. He also wanted to scream in pain, but he needs to always smile and he can't really scream when smiling. Also that sudden panting...sounded kinda like a dog, right? And when at the end of his "please" it distorted and sounded similar to the voice Cecil gave the Beagle. In Huntokar's story she didn't mention the Smiling God, only the Beagle. And during A Story About Them, when Cecil talked about a woman in a desert with an army of masked giants, and he talked about the light. He said that light doesn't always take that form. So... more possible hints adding to the "The Smiling God is the Beagle" theory? Maybe?
@june87915 жыл бұрын
Ohhhh, that makes a lot of sense, although I think that the smiling god was described in the second novel, it was something centipede-like if I remember correctly? Still, it'd hysterical if it turned out that this bloodthirsty cult worshipped a satanic beagle all along, lol
@klltsun_25765 жыл бұрын
@@june8791 "It spreads - not just in the desert I am talking about - it spreads in different forms, in deserts not unlike it. In deserts very similar to the one I am talking about now. Not always in the same form, not always as light at all, but with the same intent: to devour everything until there is nothing left." - A Story About Them So whatever that being is, it can change forms. Like, in theory, from light, to dog, to centipede. And it wants *nothing* . Also, I realized... you know when a dog is panting and it kinda looks like they're smiling?
