Job well done, mate. I really do like the look of these miniatures. For faster painting, I believe the raised details of the models should be a little overdone to catch the brush tip and allow washes to pool better. After many years of painting , making 15mm or smaller to really pop is a single mid tone coat, but then push the highlights and shadows. For skin, I use a modern hack, contrasting paints. Photography is another hobby of mine. When doing pictures of crowds, when the faces get this small, the eyes are just shadows. So I think you are painting the face in the most realistic way. If you have the skill to paint eyes at this size, you are just showing off but not being realistic. You impressed me with the finish of your model, especially considering the time you took to paint them.🎉

@paintingpanzers Your painting style will evolve continuously over time. Never avoid new paint products. Always look for what they can bring to your style. Always experiment. I don't know where the time went, but it's been just over 50 years since I started painting, and my style continues to evolve.

@@paintingpanzers what i find interesting is, that i painted my MG belts and Pak Shells with AK Brass metallic, and while it looks great and is realistic in terms of the ammo casing naterial, it does look too rich and ,,brassy" while gold seems more realistic and bright in 15mm.

@Oberhorsti yeah, I've done the same in the past and thought the same as you. Brass in 28mm looks great but for 15mm it just isn't as bright as I'd like. I think gold does the trick a lot better 🤩

Great tutorial and very useful. A great advert for the minis. PS Is the rolled up bag worn on the back of the figures a zehltban? The Waffen SS were issued these capes/ tent quarters, and I think they were reversible, like the smocks.

Spot on mate, its definition Zeltbahn so you could paint it in the opposite colour Oakleaf to the tunic? Just to break it up. I decided to paint it as a plain bag, purely so it didn't clash with the camo. I might change that going forward though. Thanks a lot buddy 🤩

Holy smoke - those are great figures, and a quick look at the PSC website shows they do US and British in the same style as well. Lovely paint job as usual -- how long would you say it'd take you to do a whole platoon?

I have one complaint about the minis. It's the Karabiner 98K. It looks a bit too big to me, much more heroic style than the rest of the figure. Maybe that's due to the material they used for 3D-printing them or otherwise they would be too fragile. They look a bit like the giant 98Ks of 15mm Forged in Battle minis. Not my cup of tea to be honest. Anyway a fantastic paint job. Not surprising but always appreciated.

Thanks a lot mate 🤩 I'm definitely going to compare them to the old BF SS and see how they shape up in terms of details and such. Interesting point on the Kar98k but I'm sure you're right, it'll definitely be because it's a print and probably for greater protection.
