15th Kaplanniversary Special

pls read description: this is not the usual type of jeff video.
this is a video, produced for the overwatch team, commemorating Jeff's 15 year anniversary at blizzard. they flew me out to blizzard hq to be there to join the celebration, which was a lot of fun! a video for a giveaway of some signed overwatch stuff will be following shortly.
i know that a lot of the humor in this video relates to specific blizzard things, not much of the usual stuff, and so it might not be as fun for most of you. but i still wanted to upload it here for completeness, and also so you guys know why i haven't released a video in a while. i aim to upload a regular style video soon! thanks for your patience, may jeff bless you all.

I think we need to nerf Responsibility Shift by increasing its cool down.

Just make the cool down start when the effect ends.

It allows you to push your payload of bad decisions to someone else. So the ability will not work with Genji, Hanzo or Widow, since they never go near the payload.

duplicate drop rates aren't really a thing, say you get a legendary there isn't a separate code that decides if that legendary is a duplicate or not. you just have the chance of getting 1 of the many legendaries that are available, for the most part during events it is more likely to receive higher rarity items that are event specific since you are guaranteed 1 event item in every event box. so it's more likely you will get a legendary from that specific event but because of that you are more likely to get duplicates since you are guaranteed to receive a legendary from the event items and there are only so many event legendaries at any given time. it's simple rng. and blizzard didn't ignore the fan outcry, they acknowledged it and responded to it which is why we got the double xp weekend in the first place. there wasn't anything they could change in the middle of the event regarding the boxes which is why they said they will look into it for future events. don't be a spoiled brat just because you didn't get the skin you wanted.

Oh man... the WoW references took me down memory lane. The Green Hills of Stranglethorn was always an after-thought questline that most players completed after getting to level 60 since it was so tedious and virtually impossible to complete at the level at which the quest was obtained. As for WoW voice chat, I actually remember when the feature was released. There were lots of players, including myself, that couldn't get it to work initially. I was a network engineer at the time and after analyzing firewall logs I found that the new voice chat feature was using both TCP and UDP protocols whereas the documentation only mentioned TCP. I posted my findings on the WoW forum and shortly thereafter the documentation was updated.

I actually liked the green hills of stranglethorn. It was like a mega-quest that spanned your entire time there. You could also buy the few pages you have left to collect in the AH to complete it. I did it on like 6 alts back in the day.

Honestly I never hated that quest because I ran lots of alts and I would keep my spare quest-item pages in the bank for later use by other characters. That way the moment I had a new level 25-or-so character entering STV, I could complete that obnoxious quest and get a ton of XP without having to put in the effort.

That was a lot of fun. That said, I don't like having the subtitles always there; i'd much rather prefer being able to turn them on/off using the KZbin feature. Otherwise, I find that I constantly have to look away from the subtitles in order not the "spoil" what he's going to say (and the fun of these videos is of course hearing him say it, and not just reading what someone could come up with).
