PLUS, Misha said there was another ending to the finale shot, but that they're "not allowed to talk about it." So yes, Dean DOES love Cas. These 2 actors have basically confirmed it and they would know more than any of us. Also, he said that, but remember he is still under contract. So he HAS to continue to lie for the CW, sadly.

@@adianethken9747 lots of people who actually do dubbing translations have ruled out the theory of the “rogue translator” because that’s not really how dubbing works. There are actually a lot of really long essay-type posts on social media on this (esp. tumblr), some of them even done by someone who does English to Mexican Spanish translations (and vice versa). It’s very possible the CW just asked Misha to say something about a “rogue translator” or a translation error in general because he’s widely trusted by fans. After the negative fan reaction to his video, he apologized for it and made an effort to listen to people who were hurt by what happened (because we all know Misha is amazing💕). I have a feeling that what was said in that video doesn’t actually reflect how he felt about the situation, especially considering his continuous support of Destiel. The video was also mainly made to address “censorship conspiracies” aimed at the CW. But what Misha-or as I predict, the CW-didnt understand is that *fans weren’t just upset because there was speculation on LGBTQ+ censorship or about the lack of reciprocation on Dean’s part* , but just because of the general treatment of LGBTQ+ characters in the past. So anyway sorry for going off shdnskl I know you’re just tryna explain stuff but the “rogue translator” theory is kinda outlandish (and has been made into many memes because of just how ridiculous it is). I'm very interested to see how many dubs will actually deliver the romantic confirmation the original didn't dared to. And hearing the "Te amo" here makes me realize again that even if english!Castiel may have said "I love you" the fact that this phrase is used so BROADLY in the english language makes it still seem very "safely played" by the writers imo. The english "I love you" you can still interpret platonically because it's IS indeed used that way in real life and the rest of the scene did not go the extra step all the way through to really solidify the wording as romantically. This grey area of "verbally confirming it just enough to satisfy shippers who want to read it that way but actually not really" does not exist in other languages, MANY languages to be frank. Many have separated phrases to differentiate the forms of "I love you" and whichever the dub chooses to go with will 100% and COMPLETELY tell you Cas and Dean's relationship status with no room for other interpretations. This is the one time I will actively look out for my countries dub (german) just to see what they made out of this vage english dialog

Es gibt zwar Ausnahmen im Sprachgebrauch aber in richtigen Gefühls- Geständnis Scenen (ja ich weiß nicht wie man das gerade am besten auf deutsch sagt xD) ist ein "Ich liebe dich" zu 95% eine DEUTLICHE Ansage. Vielleicht gucke wir zwei auch verschiedene Arten von deutschen Media wo das "Ich liebe dich" andere Verwendungen hat, aber von dem was ich kenne gibt es da eigentlich so gut wie keinen Freiraum für Interpretationen

It makes so much more sense if he replies in the affirmative because - the mega hell opening whatever opened up literally immediately after Dean said it back - i know that he says "saying it out loud is enough" but I just really doubt if that could be the happiest moment of your life. Like, it's laced in sadness and pain? He's held it in for years?? And what he feels in that moment is 100% happiness?? Like, my heart would be breaking - the uncertainty, the fact that he knew he would die then and never see Dean again? Those feel like tears of pain and suffering to me. But it's very subjective so..

I read a theory that said that cas already sensed dean loved him but didn't want to act on it and be with dean becuase he knew the empty would take him, so thats what he meant when he said he could never have what he wanted. Also thats why he stopped dean from explaining himself after his prayer, because dean was going to talk about his feelings with cas and it would have triggered the empty too soon. cas thought his true happiness would be being with dean when it was just in them knowing their feelings for each other.

I haven’t watched spn and therefore wasn’t a destiel shipper, but even as an unbiased outsider, I can tell the Spanish version is so much better. The way Castiel smiles while being taken away after is love is reciprocated just seems so much more satisfying, and is just better and more logical from a narrative standpoint, whereas the English version just looks like a rushed way to kill off the *Gay*. Like, even if you don’t want to make the ship come true, as a writer, if you decide to kill off a beloved character, you owe it to your audience to give them a satisfying send off. (Especially if it’s at the en of your show) He feel true happiness by delivering his completely one sided confession and then he’s immediately killed? What is that? On top of being insulting to the audience, it’s just overall bad writing.

you english speaking people don't understand how deep and strong saying "te amo (i love you)" those exact words to someone is, i can't even say that to my parents, that's how intimate and strong the use of "te amo" instead of "te quiero" (also i love you but that's more chill to say to friends and stuff)

I'm German and I never liked the German dub but just this once I'm actually hyped for it. Will they use 'Ich liebe dich' as in romantic love (or close family/very close friends sometimes) or the family/friends love 'Ich hab dich lieb'? I am legit looking forward to it and I never thought I'd say that. Also I wonder if other languages will be different from the English version 🤔

My husband started watching supernatural a couple months ago and even when I love their original voices, I didn't object when he started watching the Spanish dub because I knew he would get the best ending for Destiel (even if it was still bad), he'd get Dean's "y yo a tí, Cas"

Although I know is a matter of metrics in spanish dubbing ("don't do this, Cas" has the exact metrics of "y yo a ti, Cas"), I LOVE YOU STUDIO THAT DID THIS AND SAVE OUR 2020 THANK YOU SO MUCH. At least I'm not that sad anymore.
