PLUS, Misha said there was another ending to the finale shot, but that they're "not allowed to talk about it." So yes, Dean DOES love Cas. These 2 actors have basically confirmed it and they would know more than any of us. Also, he said that, but remember he is still under contract. So he HAS to continue to lie for the CW, sadly.

I'm very interested to see how many dubs will actually deliver the romantic confirmation the original didn't dared to. And hearing the "Te amo" here makes me realize again that even if english!Castiel may have said "I love you" the fact that this phrase is used so BROADLY in the english language makes it still seem very "safely played" by the writers imo. The english "I love you" you can still interpret platonically because it's IS indeed used that way in real life and the rest of the scene did not go the extra step all the way through to really solidify the wording as romantically. This grey area of "verbally confirming it just enough to satisfy shippers who want to read it that way but actually not really" does not exist in other languages, MANY languages to be frank. Many have separated phrases to differentiate the forms of "I love you" and whichever the dub chooses to go with will 100% and COMPLETELY tell you Cas and Dean's relationship status with no room for other interpretations. This is the one time I will actively look out for my countries dub (german) just to see what they made out of this vage english dialog

It makes so much more sense if he replies in the affirmative because - the mega hell opening whatever opened up literally immediately after Dean said it back - i know that he says "saying it out loud is enough" but I just really doubt if that could be the happiest moment of your life. Like, it's laced in sadness and pain? He's held it in for years?? And what he feels in that moment is 100% happiness?? Like, my heart would be breaking - the uncertainty, the fact that he knew he would die then and never see Dean again? Those feel like tears of pain and suffering to me. But it's very subjective so..

I read a theory that said that cas already sensed dean loved him but didn't want to act on it and be with dean becuase he knew the empty would take him, so thats what he meant when he said he could never have what he wanted. Also thats why he stopped dean from explaining himself after his prayer, because dean was going to talk about his feelings with cas and it would have triggered the empty too soon. cas thought his true happiness would be being with dean when it was just in them knowing their feelings for each other.

@Hush Child From what few information I've been able to gather, apparently the line "Love you too, Cas" (what can be heard here) was changed last minute to "Don't do this, Cas" and a lot of staring in shock, which is understandable considering Dean's character, who is extremely slow processing his feelings. One way or another, Destiel is canon and Dean is bi, which is very meaningful to the LGBTQ+ community. And that's why so many were and are offended by the fact that the cw cut the scene. At least this is all I know about the controversy surrounding this. However, some minutes ago Misha said through instagram that there's no conspiracy and that Dean doesn't say anything because of the shock. This is all a bit weird because Dean DOES say something.

I haven’t watched spn and therefore wasn’t a destiel shipper, but even as an unbiased outsider, I can tell the Spanish version is so much better. The way Castiel smiles while being taken away after is love is reciprocated just seems so much more satisfying, and is just better and more logical from a narrative standpoint, whereas the English version just looks like a rushed way to kill off the *Gay*. Like, even if you don’t want to make the ship come true, as a writer, if you decide to kill off a beloved character, you owe it to your audience to give them a satisfying send off. (Especially if it’s at the en of your show) He feel true happiness by delivering his completely one sided confession and then he’s immediately killed? What is that? On top of being insulting to the audience, it’s just overall bad writing.

Pretty sure this is the neutral Spanish dub that's used in LATAM. not sure if they also use it in Spain as Spain doesn't particularly like LATAM dubs, but yeah it's canon

I'm German and I never liked the German dub but just this once I'm actually hyped for it. Will they use 'Ich liebe dich' as in romantic love (or close family/very close friends sometimes) or the family/friends love 'Ich hab dich lieb'? I am legit looking forward to it and I never thought I'd say that. Also I wonder if other languages will be different from the English version 🤔
