@conqueragingordietrying123Ай бұрын
Which paper(s) are you using to suggest GGT as a proven longevity marker? It's easier to interpret relative to AST and ALT, which is why I'm including it.
@jamesgilmore8192Ай бұрын
@@conqueragingordietrying123 GGT (in addition to AST and ALT) is standard on the panel where I am, and I've always found it easier to interpret. I've also been able to reduce it. Although its not tissue specific which is its downside like AST and ALT. Using biomarkers that are tissue specific and monotonic for HR/ACM etc should be the reach aim.

Thanks a lot Michael. You are the most transparent age researcher out there! Idea for an interview: It would be fantastic if you could convince Matt Kaeberlein to measure a decent set of the things you measure for yourself and have a constructive discussion about biological clocks and his and your results. So far his comments (together with Peter Attia's) have been very biased and totally against the use of clocks. In one of his latest videos he presented ome measures an almost laugh on camera about them (I guess you saw that!). A question: What about Levine's et al. new clock that uses measures related to many organs functions. Have you tested on that one? Do you have a spreadsheet for that one too? It would be nice if you could share.
@conqueragingordietrying1238 күн бұрын
Thanks @espinosalexis. I don't disagree with Matt's criticisms of epigenetic clocks... I do have data for Morgan's latest clock, but it's epigenetic, too. I'm finding the most value from tracking the actual biomarkers, not their epigenetic estimation.

@conqueragingordietrying123 Ok. Thanks a lot. But this sounds a bit inconsistent with your continuation on posting biological clocks results. If you were in complete agreement with Matt, then I guess you would drop the posting or give a clear disclaimer at the beginning together with some tests similar to Matt's that prove his point and your agreement. In regards to the biomarkers you are following, do you have a clear list of those posted somewhere?

Hi Michael - great videos as always and thanks for all valuable information. Like you i use cronometer for food tracking. With breakdown on this site i see i am deficient in a few micro and macro areas - one is biotin or vitamin b7. A bit surprising as eat much variety but only unprocessed so fish , meats , veggies, nuts , some dairy and fruits. So probably I’m now to supplement for few items. Wondering if u find same using cronometer and then you too take a few vitamin and mineral supplements to make up for cronometer items found low per RDA values?
@conqueragingordietrying123Ай бұрын
Hi @michael-qp9xd, and thanks. Cronometer's biotin database may not include all foods, so it's a tough nutrient to track. As we'll see in the next video, I'm covering the RDA for all vitamins and minerals, and purposefully going higher based on correlations with ~25 blood biomarkers.

I just did my test this morning with the 9 biomarkers. I have been on the longevity pathway for 6 months. Chronological age-51, Pheno age-40. But my cholesterol ratio is not good. Actually it should be incorporated in the calculation right? Any opinion? Anyway thanks for the spreadsheet
@conqueragingordietrying123Ай бұрын
Hi @robinsonpp010, 11y younger is good news! PhenoAge didn't arbitrarily pick the 9 biomarkers-they let the stats determine the best predictive model, which didn't include cholesterol. That said, I still track cholesterol and ApoA1, and ApoB, which could be more informative.

@monnoo8221Ай бұрын
yes, yet phenoage is as it is. I can not measure creatinine for eGFR because i supplement with creatin. ... what i do is to measure cystatin C, then using the eGFR Calculator of the national kidney foundation in order to determine a surrogate value for creatinine. The calculator accepts creatinine and cystatine C. So, I then determine the Creatinine value that would return the same value for eGFR as provided through cystatin C

@monnoo8221 can you share more info? I also use creatine and it obviously pushed creatinine up and hence my phenoage calc
@jamesgilmore8192Ай бұрын
@@monnoo8221 I think you are better off just ignoring the creatinine contribution in phenoage in this case. The problem with this approach is cystatin C has one of the highest associations with ACM of all biomarkers, and its monotonic unlike creatinine. This means all the coefficients in phenoage would need to be remodelled because of the correlations.
