I was at a concert the other day. The concert was great and I said to the singer after the concert: "That was great! I will take all my friends with me next time!" I wanted to say that I will BRING all of my friends but I made a mistake. It was a shame as I saw his surprised face at these words! You said that "borrow is take" and you're right, that's the sense and I'd say that you borrow something BUT you gotta give it back at some point, so borrow isn't EXACTLY take. # The same thing happens with "Lend" you said "lend is give" and you're right, that's the sense and I'd say that you lend something BUT you gotta get it back at some point so lend isn't EXACTLY give.
