In November 2021, I traveled solo around Belarus for a month. I started my journey from the capital city, stayed in a small village, and continued to different cities in the North, Far East, and Southeast of Belarus. The last part of my journey started in the city of Gomel. Captivated by rail transport, I decided to buy a sleeper train ticket for 33 Belarusian rubles or around 12 US dollars for a 16-hour journey.

ABOUT ME:
In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveler and KZbin creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveler, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.
My travels kicked off with a five-month trip across Asia, after which I moved to China in January 2017 to work as an English teacher-my first time living abroad. I left China in 2018 to fully commit to creating videos on KZbin, where I share my travels and the cultures I encounter.
Living nomadically since 2016, I settled in England in early 2022 after marrying my British husband, David. Now based in the UK, I continue to travel and share my adventures on KZbin.

It is with an aching heart that I am publishing the last video from Belarus. I’ve been debating whether to post this, but these travel videos from Belarus were pre-recorded in October and November 2021. Although Belarus is a controversial travel destination, I came and travelled around the country as a tourist with the intention of understanding the nuance and culture from the people themselves. I’ve been horrified to see the government in Belarus play a role in what is happening in Ukraine, and I don’t want these videos to be supporting the regime in any way. It feels wrong to post happy travel videos when thousands of people in Ukraine are fighting fearlessly for their freedom. I have therefore activated a “DONATE” button on this video. This means you can donate whatever amount of money that you feel comfortable with, 100% of the donation go the charity to help Ukraine. I will also be personally donating to the charities below from the income this video makes. Revived Soldiers Ukraine: www.rsukraine.org/ Voices of Children: voices.org.ua/en/donat/ Kyiv Independent: kyivindependent.com/ Sunflower of Peace: www.sunflowerofpeace.com/ United Help Ukraine: unitedhelpukraine.org/

You did well to post these videos, Syifa. This shows us how beautiful the country is and how there are always good people. Ordinary people have nothing to do with this war. I pray that this ends soon. Stay well wherever you are.

I love Belarus, I have traveled there from the UK by train on 2 occasions, It is a fascinating country. It's railway is very clean, safe and dependable. The most interesting part of the journey was at Брест/Brest where the standard gauge tracks gave way to Russian gauge. The wheels on the waggons were replaced accordingly to enable the continuation of the journey.

I just finished binge-watching Belarusian series. Thank you for those great pictures. Many of them remind me of my youth in Southern Poland - picturesque scenery, stunning colours of Autumn. Normal people living in not so welathy country but finding happiness in their normal lives. We all have many in common, although our governments want us to don't like each other. Syifa what about Poland series in the near future? There are some nice places worth to visit here:)

The movie train did have a dining section though. 😁 Thank you so much for taking us to Belarus. The videos were beautiful and insightful. 🌸

You did actually very good with sharing with us this beautiful report. I much enjoyed this train journey and it made also sad, in the knowledge of that horrific war in Ukraine. It seems we are now entering again dark days, many simple minded people will put the people in general not governments responsible. It is good that you showed us the beauty of the country and the kindness of the people of the Belarus you met there. Ignore the haters if they pass by, nothing can help them escape from their narrow minded worlds.
