Mmm. Let's see. Aloy is basically the post apocalyptic equivalent of Hannah. An outcast living a secluded life, raised by a caring yet emotionally impaired father figure, whose idea of child care was relentless survival training. And when it finally seemed like she had a shot at normal life destiny knocked at the door and she had the mantle and burden of world's savior thrown unto her, wether she wanted it or not. Pretty sure the poor girl hasn't had the chance to think what she wants out of life, much less ask herself what her gender identity is.

Based on the resemblance between her design and the machines, as well as this news of her connection to the ancient past, I wonder if Tilda is one of the AI caretaker bots from the Eleuthia subfunction that gained sentience after the signal, or if is she a kind of USB backup of Apollo or perhaps another subfunction, Gaia maybe?

Actually that's what I though immediately as well, assuming apollo survived and was disconnected from gaia and had no humans to teach, it would make sense that apollo might try to advance all the knowledge and tech they already possessed, possibily perfecting holo technology or creating an android that seems human. Therefore is able to communicate more humanely than say Hades or Hephaestus also considering they would posses all human discourses on philosophy, humanity and could learn to be a bit more like Gaia.

Tilda may be survivors from the Odyssey Ship. Zero Dawn only really states that it was lost, but they had an Alpha-built of Apollo onboard, and may have been able to correct and navigate back to Earth, and would seem to be from the future. If they did make it back, something would have had to happen to Apollo in order to avoid bringing a massive shift to the world and keep the same feel to it, so it's not spear-to-laser-sniper-rifle overnight.

Aloy isn't supposed to be sexualized in any way, honestly. Guerilla were adamant on that when they made her. No canonical love interests, no sexual tensions (Avad and Erend make passes at her and she shoots them down, even the Oseram forge lady...) When you have the literal history, past, present and future of all mankind on your very shoulders, you have no TIME for romance...which seems frivolous/irrelevant at that point. I wish people didn't project their own preferences on her. She's been a survivor her whole life. Romantic inclinations are so out of character for her...but you know as the player, she has deep platonic love and concern for people around her. I just love how strong they made her "character" (in both senses of the word), values system, and empathy for others. Definitely one of my favorite female characters in all gaming and literature..

Players were given the option to kill him in HZD, it wouldn’t make much sense for him to return in the second game in case the player did decide to kill him in the first IMO.

There's a quest in the first game where Aloy finds a piece of GAIA that is still active (up until moments before she arrives). It's possible she finds another such piece, but it seems unlikely that it would've found it's way to the Forbidden West (since the other piece was pretty close to the GAIA Prime crater) without assistance from humans or machines.

It's ironic how Tilda looks like Tilda Swinton, but they have Carrie Anne Moss playing her. Aesthetics aside, it appears Forbidden West is going to do everything "right" and that is address some of the bigger events of the first game that were only and hinted at... The Odyssey; Apollo not being completely deleted; etc... Because not covering these things in a sequel would make the story feel very lacking and/or incomplete given the major significance some of those background events and characters had even if we never interacted with them directly via flashbacks, holo-records, etc.

Given the code related name I'd bet Tilda is the latest version of Deep Silver. the outfit is highly futuristic and looks grown, probably nanites that cover a body from a human who either joined with Silver or Silver grew an avatar in a cradle facility and simply used the blank slate. The pale white skin indicates the body hasn't seen daylight for a long time so I'm guessing a human shell purpose grown in a cradle that is only now old enough to be deployed.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ted Faro made an appearance. My theory is that we really don't know what happened to him after the events in the previous game. What we do know is that he had his own bunker but nothing more aside from the fact that he caused the post-apocalyptic situation. If I had to guess, I would say that Ted either went into some kind of stasis or he underwent some sort of cloning process similar to the current inhabitants of Earth. I guess we'll see but I really can't see the devs not including the man who caused everything. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Ted Faro was the one responsible for Hades.

I think Aloy was just bewildered by the idea of anyone expressing an interest in her for most of Zero Dawn. Petra Forgewoman flirting aggressively with her and Sun-King Avad wanting her to be with him as a replacement for Erend's sister also might have scared her off (although near the end of the main quest she did say she thought Varl was quite sweet).

Interesting video, I've been playing HZD on PC and after completing it Aloy talks to GAIA and there is then a clip of Sylens capturing HADES. As you speculate on if GAIA exists on the video to help Aloy, and how she was restored, I was a little confused.

GAIA was destroyed (as far as we know) in the GAIA Prime overload she orchestrated to try and stop HADES. The exchange at the very end of the game is between Elisabet Sobeck and GAIA, not Aloy and GAIA (though they obviously sound very similar). Zoe

I doubt a PC port will come this year or next one, as seeing this game as a selling point for getting the PS5 or even a PS4 to play it. Itll make it to PC probably or by the end of next year or possibly even farther down the line. At earliest next year, but i really doubt PC players get it this year. And, no im not one of those people that is a Sony loyalist, and actually believe it sucks that PC players have to wait after getting to play HZD on PC after a few years wait, but Sony is in it ot move their console, and making it available from day one doesnt make it an exclusive. Hopefully, i hope the wait isnt more than a year. Wishing you PC players get it sooner, rather tjan later.

I'm probably wrong but until I have been proven wrong, I would speculate that Tilda is a digital AI avatar, an android, Raised by Wolves-style or a biological clone that holds the consciousness of the Climate Intervening AI, VAST SILVER. VS is mentioned a few times in the original game and would be capable of creating the storms we see in all the marketing, don't you think? But why I do I think Tilda specifically is an avatar of this AI? Well, her futuristic look that is more futuristic than for example Elizabeth Sobek or Ted Faro and if you had to describe the color of her dress, is Silver not the first word that comes to mind... So yeah, I'm betting my money on her being revealed to be VAST SILVER but I won't be mad if I turn out to be wrong because the lore of this world is just so amazing... As for sexuality diversity in the world of Horizon, while there likely will be some backlash from a very loud vocal minority, I do think it would make sense if Aloy met some openly LGBTQ+ characters in the game. Project Zero Dawn was meant to bring back humanity the way it was in the 21th century (Only for Ted Faro to mess things up with the deletion of Apollo) and in terms of genetics and psychological development, we should see the same patterns, we see in our world. I would find it specifically interesting in how these things are treated by the Tribes. We know that racism in a way exists in the new world, only more tribal and less racial in nature, so I also presume certain biases and prejudices will still exist in this world as well. In a way, I expect that there might be tribes with "forced" bisexuality for gay individuals, where certain relationships are only there to increase the numbers of the tribe but otherwise those "couples" not really couples... But this is just an idea how certain tribes might deal with it (there are darker possibilities based on real life but in the survivalist society of Horizon, those seem to be a waste of "human resources"... But we will see, all I'm saying is that inclusion of different sexual orientations would make sense in this universe (well, it does in most) and unless they are soapboxing it (for which we have no reason to assume they would, just to be clear), I don't see a reason to complain if they go for more representation...

I'm thinking this So fucking excited to see iterations of every sub function. We only saw Hephaestus in the Frozen Wilds and Hades in the main game, I'm thinking Demeter went rogue which is why all the crops are dying. Minerva was used in the main game as intended so I don't see why they would go rogue. Eleuthia did their job as well. I'm thinking the main villain's of Forbidden West Are Demeter and Poseidon with maybe Hephaestus still being a little bastard creating death bots.. Still excited to come face to face with Artemis, Aether in some dlc if they can do it right.

I have no idea, I was wondering that - the shield weaver armour is ridiculously strong so I don't know how they're going to explain it away if you don't have it at the beginning. I think they'll just start you from scratch without your gear from HZD otherwise you'd be quite overpowered, or say you lost your gear in X event. Zoe

They should try to make it so that everything else got tougher as well while you start with the same stuff Aloy should have and it just isn't effective enough anymore. And that armor was so OP lol, I actually got bored and stopped playing until they released ultra-hard mode.

I suspect they'll pull a Metroid and have Aloy start out with all her stuff only to then lose it in the first big battle, so she then has to go around gathering stuff to fix it all. The Shield-Wing glider seems to have been formed from the same tech as the Shield-Weaver armour, so I'm wondering if that gets overloaded and broken into bits, and that piece is all she could recover.

Regarding your comment on queer characters, I think you actually meet some/hinted of them in the first game. I believe Petra, the oseram forewoman is bi and actually had the hots for Alloy with how she was flirting with her. Also, in some descriptions of the tribes, at least the Nora, they've mentioned same sex partners.

Janeva (the prison warden at Sunstone Rock) gives off strong trans/nonbinary vibes, and an Oseram trader (who doesn't get a name, sadly) in Meridian asks you to help him see the statue of Sun-King Jiran because it's the only thing he has left of his murdered male partner.
