As an INFP, I recall not participating in PE classes to the extent of straight up skipping them out of my sheer disinterest in it.. until my teacher got complaints about it and myself along with those from my class skipping it were forced to go 😅 Not that I participated any more in there than I did out of it 😸

RIGHT?! I said I had my period three times a week. My teacher was an older gentleman, and I knew it made him uncomfortable, lol. It got to the point where he just let me go read instead of having to hear about "lady problems". Coach Mongelli, if you're reading this, I'm sorry.

LITERALLY SAME! in elementary school we went outside one day and while all the other kids were playing games I was sitting in the grass abd finding 4-leaf clovers! I found like 5 of them within an hour and kept showing my teacher and she was telling the other teachers because she was so impressed. I guess finding 4-leaf clovers is an INFP thing lol

I only liked it when we had the fun days i.e. kickball, archery, frisbee football, those days you could do basically anything you actually wanted or play board games. I did enjoy dodge ball, but I was the supplier. I got the balls from the back and handed them out to those with arm strength to get ppl out or could hit the basketball backboard if we we're playing jailbreak version. I could dodge well and somewhat be able to catch them, just couldn't throw. If it was something I hated, I was doing all I could to do as little as possible 🙂 Give me something more out of the ordinary and I'll be like the quidditch part 😅 definitely shocked classmates on those days

@@muchanadziko6378 It's interesting you draw a line between chess/cards and sports. They are all games where you can perform well or not, sports is just the physical version. Competitiveness can also be against yourself or against others. You may not like competing against others, but you may enjoy improving your own abilities.

As an INTJ, and a short female one at that, I always had tactics in place for team sports (tho I did always try my best because self-improvement and personal challenges are a thing of course). For instance, PE basketball every year chosen last the first game, chosen nearly first the next time because I realized one day that tall girls will do almost anything rather than crash into the short girl with glasses, which included falling down and losing the ball....so once I developed my niche role and tactics of goal defender and general obstacle, it was easy to defeat those going for shots. I just had to resolutely stand in their line of attack like a game of chicken. I mean it was risky of being hit full force and falling, but they never wanted to be the one who ran me over so they usually fell or nearly fell themselves to avoid me. Then our good players would swoop in and get the ball. Once team captains saw me doing this, I got chosen right after the best dribblers were. It was hysterical. It also worked in soccer class for same reasons. You gotta look for your strengths/opponents' weaknesses and exploit them. ;)

I am an INFP, who one year won my High School 'Best SportsBoy' trophy. In the presentation of the trophy the PE teacher said "It is a bit ironic that this trophy is being awarded to the student who came up with the most excuses not to come to PE classes." I’m INTJ, but the INFP’s strategy for dodgeball @3:31 is exactly the one I have used my entire life, from primary school to an adult ‘bonding’ exercise at work. It’s extremely effective! Especially because that was my affect the entire time I was doing it. Oh, and also yelling, “HIT ME!!” (BTW, it really annoys people, which I just considered another perk. It was their fault for making a bad choice in the planning.)

As an entj, it was really unfortunate because I would come up with amazing strategies, and no one on my teams would listen to them. Oh that’s quite interesting, I have a pretty similar story regarding sports. I’m also an ENTJ and I enjoy playing a few different sports, but was always more of a STEM child. Absolutely, I always found it was the coaches who would constantly say “that wouldn’t work” but be completely unable to find any flaw in the plan. Also when pointing out flaws in their plan, they would just say “you don’t know enough about sports to understand it.” That’s just what I experienced, but I bet there are many ENTJs out there who really contribute to sports teams around the world too.

As an INTP... I figured out the best way to "get out" of PE class during the school... Take it during "summer school" thus getting out of the daily ick of gym during normal school, and only dealing with random kids for a few hours of gym a day for 4-6 weeks to get it over and done with. Much better use of time and no daily change room drama or having to be in school the rest of the day sweaty or sticky.... AND minimal public embarrassment factor!

As an INTJ, PE was not my favorite special growing up, but I had a strong competitive spirit that pushed me to play even when I wasn't very good at the game. I was a hard worker who wanted to win, but it was more about my personal game more than anything else, so I never really cared if we had all the "bad people", especially since I saw potential in many of my closer friends who were considered less athletic by comparison. (However, I hated "girl circles" more than anything because of their inefficiency and lack of drive.)

The INFP part was *extremely* relatable xD Unless the peer pressure was too strong I'd rarely put any effort into PE. But then came the *trampoline* and I was motivated like I had never been, I even had my own trampoline at home! I jumped better than everyone else, they looked at me in awe, this was my time to shine! Right...? A few days later the other class broke the trampoline, the school couldn't afford a new one, and we had to do something else...

ENFJ here. I admittedly wasn’t good at a lot of full body sports, when I was good at something it made it clear that I have unresolved anger issues that come out when I’m playing😂. I was viscous in our ping pong unit and I’m weirdly good at LaCrosse. But yes, most of the time I had too much positivity and hope considering how badly I usually ended up doing. So I’d usually end up in the back of class comforting the INFP.

ENFJ is me. You triggered a memory of when I was 14-15 in 2014. Mr. Jared Peacock was my PE teacher from 10th grade. He had us play dodgeball. I stood in the school gym and tried to predict where the ball would come from. Another ball came from another direction and whacked me in the face. Everybody saw I was lost in my head. They could see it hurt me, and they consoled me. When my friends cheered me up, I wanted to return to class.

As an INFP, the comment about competition is soooo relatable. I'd always question the seriousness and commitment of the teams, people would be sweating and using all of their energy as if they're yet to achieve a global award or something... This also discouraged me from participating as this 'competition' outcasted me big time.

I also had no problem with full contact, despite not being all that good at running or passing etc, the few times we actually played rugby (UK school) tackling I could do easily, a bit of a lack of physical fear and remembering some tacking techniques from when I played when I was ten, lead to some much larger boys being very surprised at their abrupt encounters with the ground.

As a coordinated, hypercompetitive INTJ who never played video games, what on earth was that? If I wasn't 6'3" and couldn't destroy people physically, a younger (much less kind) me would have destroyed them emotionally. Like saying "You know, your Mom lets your dad hit you because she doesn't love you either." Worst case, somebody is getting a cheap shot to the nuts or throat. Either way, I'm not getting punked and I'm definitely not putting myself in a dangerous situation where I don't have some control over the outcome.
