Case in point, early on in my career for some reason people were underestimating me. I allowed them to continue to think so, just didn't correct them or anything. Especially when they assume X, Y, Z, type of work is new to me (it is but basic foundation I already have so not much of a big step) so they will be forgiving of mistakes, etc. Come review time for promotions, I keep getting promoted for the immense growth I've had and how everyone now relies on me. I made more money and upgraded my title so many times in such a short period of time.

This is so accurate! I'm an INFP who always seems to get ignored in group conversations. I don't know how everyone else seems to get the natural rhythm and timing of how/when to jump in. I do get along great with INFJs too. This might be my new favorite 16 personalities skit.

As an INFP, no matter where I am, this just hits home for me! (I'm not even going to cry) I can never put my two cents in without being interrupted, pushed aside, ignored, and not taken seriously. This is why I don't like being in groups. But thank you INFJ's for realizing that we exist in this world. Much Love ❤❤❤❤❤❤

We ENTPs are obsessed with improving ourselves (and not letting anything hold us back), so I think we tend to overcome and grow out of the more typical fears we experience in childhood. As an adult, I regularly face my fear of life's unknowns to avoid stagnation (my deepest fear). Too boring for a therapy session though, so can I totally relate to the ENTP in this video. 😂

I think enneagram types vastly change the way the personality types interact with others. I’m an enneagram 8 INFP and I would have been running that session. I’m not the kind of person that allows others to ignore or marginalize me. I’m a “take charge” type person, but not in a mean way. I have party books from my teen years where everyone was at my house having parties (I had a VERY permissive mother). It’s filled with photos of the party goers and their antics and everyone drew things in the book or wrote funny messages in it. I was the sort of person who talked to literally everyone and had friends from all walks of life and every social group in school. I could hang with the popular kids and usually did, but I was nice as heck to everyone and talked to people that other people actively avoided. I chatted with anyone I was currently around. I can still do that and I host massive public events sometimes on my property and they are well done. My work is mostly alone as I flip houses on my own time mostly alone so I have become more of a loner as I aged. As much as one can be with a husband and two bio kids and two informally adopted kids who had unsafe neglectful parents. They lived with us from a young age and their parents were either too addicted to substances to care or were absentee parents who also didn’t care. I had them here from around age 7 through high school graduation when they both went off to college and started their own adult lives and families. So yeah you should take the enneagram test and see where you fall on that. And honestly the way to change being alone or looked over there a to fake it until you make it. You can get everywhere in life by simply smiling and talking freely in a chatty friendly way to anyone you meet. And become a person who puts themselves out there into a public arena and makes those connections. Putting yourself out there, being friendly and sunny in disposition, chatting about anything you can think of, finding out other people’s interests and chatting them up about it even if it’s to ask questions, etc. That’s all it takes, honestly. Talk. Smile. Be encouraging, complimentary. Find out interests. Talk about it. Volunteer at a worthy cause if you can find the time and actually talk to people around you while doing it. Be clean, neat, presentable. Learn some funny jokes. And whatever you do, appear confident and not desperate. That desperation vibe kills it every time, man. Learn to read the room and act accordingly.

I don't feel like I'm afraid about anything specific but I might just have accepted that everything is scary to me and I try to navigate through that each new day. My niece is also an INFP. I am an ENFP. I absolutely adore her! She naturally feels overlooked, too. The group of kids she has in her life mostly ignore her or don't like her. It's sad. She is very lonely on the peer level, but has very rich connections with adults in her close circle. My husband is INTJ and her mom is INTP... we all do our best to make sure she never feels overlooked. We see her. We see her value. She is an amazing human being. 14 years old and has already written two books that are part of a trilogy. We encouraged her to send them to a publisher and she did and they want to publish her. She was so nervous and hates the attention, but we are so proud of her and know she is going to do great things. I will say, as an ENFP... I'm very often overlooked, as well. In my group of friends and acquaintances, someone will ask me a question, then three words into me explaining my answer, they will begin talking with someone else in the circle of people mingling. It happens ALL THE TIME. Yet, I know I'm ENFP because I'm super bubbly and processing things a mile a minute. My INTJ husband said I'm hard to follow in conversation because of the Ne and I jump from thing to thing to make the connections for them, but by the time I get to the point, I've lost them. So, I have no clue how to talk to people. I am sorry people overlook you. As an ENFP, I know we tend to interrupt people, too. Although, we also interrupt ourselves with our squirrel moments and rabbit trails. It isn't intentional, it is all just excitement over something we have insight on and it is bubbling up out of us. I have to be VERY intentional when I'm in conversations to not interrupt. It is one of the most difficult things for me to master. People are complicated. 🤷‍♀️ I'd rather deal with unicorns. 🦄🌈🪅

The fact that INFP keeps getting overshadowed and ignored is totally relatable. My friends are all extroverts and being really loud and outgoing, overlooking a lot. Meanwhile I’m flying under the radar and suffering in silence (being afraid, not being a functional adult yet, existential dread, being a late bloomer and falling behind everyone else and blaming myself for something I can’t control, and finally not being as outgoing.)

An INFJ here, I have an "invisibility mode" too, it's like I can just become a part of the furniture (once I literally sat casually in the living room during a game of hide and seek and I was the last one to be found 😂) . But luckily I also have my "impossible to miss" mode, so I can make sure I'm noticed when I want to be. I have no idea how it works though, like I won't even change anything but the way I present myself physically, like I fix my posture and give myself the air of importance to make people notice me or then I just act normal to avoid being noticed. Also, people should not try to sneak around if they want to be incognito, a little noice or movement won't alert others nearly as much as acting in a suspicious manner. But yeah, it's a great talent to have, I too have been ask "how on earth can you know that?" so many times, when I've just happened to be near an important conversation in "incognito mode" 😶

As an INFJ, I loved this!! Not only for mentioning the feeling of being afraid without knowing what you're afraid of; at the begining I was all: oh, please, let the INFJ be the one to tell the rest that INFP wants to participate and is being ignored, and when he did, I literally laughed out loud! (Also, being more at ease with a small group of introverts than with a big group, I really felt seen!) Kudos, FJ! XD

Just watched this again. I love the trio of INFJ, INFP and INTJ. I wish I could have a group of friends like that IRL, actually. I think we'd get along. I can be the INFJ and then I just need to find the other two. ...which admittedly might be like searching for a needle in a haystack, but... eh, I can dream.

The INFJ and INFP interaction was EXACTLY my sister and I to the point where it's scary. Especially the whole sees someone being spoken over all the time and gives them room to talk. INFJ giving a secondary therapy session is too accurate as well (although in the session I absolutely wouldn't reveal my fear because I wouldn't trust the therapist yet lol)

As an INFJ I felt so called out (in a good way!) in this sketch. I tend to blend into the background a lot and am generally pretty shy. So I've had multiple occasions where I've been talked over when I'm trying to say something. So whenever I see the same happening to someone else in a group I try to let them be heard by gently pointing out to everyone else that said person is trying to say something. It just seems like the nice thing to do and because I know what it feels like to be overlooked. Also, I have many fears. But my biggest one is the fear of being an outcast and not belonging anywhere. :')

You must be wronged (“some vibes of INFJ”). You could’ve said that, it would probably be a sign of you (and possibly your husband) being mistyped. Ni users know what they want and are “stuck in the future” (a lot of the time) while Si users prefer to use their conscience to their advantage and are very nostalgic, therefore being able to remember past sensations more easily.

@@urnotl0r0s I am an INTJ in a lovely Ni-Fi loop which almost destroyed my mind. When I was a child I was more extreme in my rational and blunt attitude, the influence of my loved ones (all INFPs) softened me enough to get in touch with my feelings. Growing up we are able to change (and to break...and to heal again, hopefully).
