Yes, I second this! I have a primary suite with a corner fireplace opposite the wall for the bed and adjacent to a wall full of windows that is lovely but makes it so hard to design without it feeling like 2 separate rooms! Please Suzie help us haha!! Love your videos Xx

Hi Susie, love this video! My sons are both in apartments and furniture placement is a challenge. My one son is in NYC and has a VERY small bedroom with no closet. He shares with 2 other people; They have community living room, kitchen and bath. His room needs to serve his practicing (he is a musician) sleeping and house most of his clothing. A video on very small bedrooms would be great. Thank you for sharing your expertise. It is so wonderful!!

Hi Anne! I can definitely understand. All 3 of my children are renting as well, and similar to New York, the rental prices can be quite high so you definitely have to get creative with the furniture placement and storage. I will definitely keep in mind doing some more videos on small bedrooms and apartments. I definitely think the multi-functional furniture that includes storage is a must-have. Whether this is under-bed storage, benches with storage, clothing racks, stackable baskets, and focusing on quality where possible, especially being in a small space xx

A height adjustable dining table will double as a kitchen island bench. I’ve only seen height adjustable tables/desks in office stores but they can be custom made or the table top can be changed out. I made custom storage boxes for under my bed and they fit 2.5 times the amount of the closest sized plastic tub. Take DVDs and CDs out of their containers and store in plastic sleeves (along with their covers). They take up 1/3 of the space (if you’re old school!)

Rechargeable light bulbs and batteries are a nuisance. You need hardwired overhead lighting and power outlets as a minimum.

Of course Maria, they weren't suggested as a replacement for the basic power outlets and overhead lighting that is almost always present in rentals :) xx

@suzieandersonhome Here in Australia, yes but in Paris the small 'affordable' apartments, chambre de bonne will only have the kitchen and toilet with overhead hardwired lighting and maybe one or two power outlets outside of the kitchen area.
