Good tips. I book when the schedule opens or during the Anniversary Sale. For instance I booked SJC-LAX-SJC for $107 r/t one way back from Tampa for $204 for m Parents and I after a cruise and $134 from SJC-PHX-SJC for my Parents and I for our winter break using the SW Credit Card $200 Statement Credit. I love the 2 free bags and the schedules are perfect. I love the free change option for instance I wanted to arrive LAX earlier so I changed it to the earlier flight. SW WGA fares are great and due to my low vision I partake in the pre-boarding and usually get the Bulkhead row!

Actually early bird checks you in 36 hours prior to boarding, a whole 12 hours before regular check ins...

It does make sense for people to save seats because if you have like, an anxiety disorder whilst you are a child/adolescent because you probably need your parent/guardian to function properly

good info but don talk to the agent at the gate he/she is an operations agent in charge of weight and balance and boarding procedures. cannot upgrade you or do much of anything for you other than answer questions in which they will refer you to a customer service agent at the desk.

How about business select. Is it waste of money. May as well get economy and pay early bird in this case. I just wasted my money then.

Yes with a $95.00 payment one way. And pet needs to be in a carrier that fits under the seat.

Cool vid, does boarding A, board the plane first the B then C? Meaning that Boarding A gets to choose the best seats available? How does one get onto boarding A of this is the case? I will be flying with my young daughter and want to make sure we sit together and she gets a window seat, any tips? Thanks!
@UponArriving5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you got it down. There are a few things you can do to get a good seat. First, you can check-in at EXACTLY 24 hours prior to departure and you will normally be able to get a window seat. You can also purchase Business Select, upgrade to Business Select, or look into EarlyBird. Check out my article here for more: uponarriving.com/southwest-boarding-groups/

Its one thing to hold seats for family... Otherwise the guy who has been standing there longest deserves first choice.

Southwest...or Wild West? Their boarding process sounds a bit like a shopping experience on Black Friday. The "everyday" prices on Southwest compared to Delta aren't all that different (IND to MCO). Southwest seems to have a clever scam of getting people to pay MORE than the Delta First Class rate...for a window seat in coach. That might be great for their financial bottom line, but it doesn't sound like a path to long term success. A bit unfortunate because their credit cards seem to be fairly attractive. And someone needs to compete with Delta.

Lemme guess: you work for Delta, don't you? Because everything you just said....sounds like you're talking out your rear.

@@champstar9669 does Delta fly to Orlando ? What's the rate for Austin to Orlando nonstop ? I'm planning my honeymoon
@champstar96695 жыл бұрын
@@theroadtocosplayandcomicco5840 Yes, Delta flies from Austin to Orlando, but not nonstop. You will want to go with Jetblue or Southwest. Looking at around $322/round trip per ticket depending on the carrier and dates. You can look up exact info at www.google.com/flights. AUS to MCO.

I have a question. Is it better to book Southwest airlines on the day that that flight opens up (7 months or so) ...OR... Is it better to wait until a couple months before? is there a magic slice of time where the prices are lower than they might be at the very beginning when the dates open up??
@marinaasquith93244 жыл бұрын
Mc Kenna in my experience, I’ve ended up saving money by buying the flights closer to the departure date, but I’m not sure if that’s always the case, and flights sometimes do sell out quick

Great tips 👍 Agreed on Early bird. It is helpful, but setting an alarm on your phone and checking in at the 24 hour mark is free and usually effective for A group/low B group.
