Tie two or three colored ribbons of different lengths around the handle to your luggage to warn others that this is not their luggage. People grab luggage at the turnstile and take it home before you ever see it. Use a man’s “half windsor” knot for the best look. Anywhere you put your bag, it could be grabbed in error. Example: overhead compartment, unloaded from the bus, at the hotel lobby, turnstile........ Use 3/4” wide ribbons about 12-14” long. Cut the ends at 45 degrees then seal the end with one drop of Super Glue to prevent fraying. If each ribbon is slightly a different length by 1/2” or so, they will all show no matter what. Tie the 3 ribbons as if it were one ribbon using a half Windsor knot. After it is tied on, the total length of the ribbons will be about 5-6” from the handle. A little longer ribbon shows up better. You can see it from 40 feet away. Perhaps tie two handles, top and side of case. Put your phone number on one ribbon using a permanent Sharpie. Choose one ribbon to have an unusual pattern or fabric to really make it unique. Layer all 3 ribbons on top of one another like a sandwich. Then tie them as a group with a half Windsor knot, which the same as a man uses. Stand by the output hole of the turnstile to reduce the chance of someone else grabbing the piece. Tie your skiies, duffel bag, and what ever with matching ribbons-even your computer case.

I was hoping you'd talk about carry on luggage requirements and what to expect going through TSA.

TSA isn't specific to southwest so I didn't touch on that since it varies based on airport. Carryon is one personal item below the seat in front of you and one bag for overhead. Your carryon can be no bigger than 24” (L) + 16” (W) + 10” (H). If it’s bigger than those dimensions, it will need to be checked.

Thanks for watching. Yes everyone is allowed their own carry on bag within a certain size and a personal item like a purse laptop bag. Rarely, overhead bins may be full and some carry own bags may be checked at the gate. Check in is at 24 hours and its best not to be late. Otherwise you can purchase an early bird ticket that I mentioned in video for automatic checkin

When is the best time to buy tickets prior to travel dates? If they dropped and went back up, what's the likelihood of the price dropping again?

For domestic flights, it's generally recommended to purchase tickets about 2-3 months before your travel date. For international flights, it's best to buy tickets 3-6 months before your trip. Prices for tickets can fluctuate a lot, and it's not uncommon for prices to drop and then go back up. Unfortunately, it's difficult to predict whether prices will drop again once they have gone up. It depends on various factors, such as demand, competition, and market conditions.

Depends on if there are any others already on the flight from a connecting city or a-list folks already seated. Majority of the time if I'm in A (beginning to mid)I can expect to seat anywhere after around row 8

We are flying for the first time in March this year 2022. It is me, my husband and 10 year old son. Obviously when we booked our flight we booked it all together on same flight itinerary. When I check us in 24 hours out would I have to check us all 3 in separately or does checking in one person, the main one who originally booked, check in each person in that group on the same itinerary? Also if I print out the boarding passes we would each need a pass correct? Or have access to it on a smart phone? My son won’t have a phone so I was thinking that printing one would be better and he would have one to hold. Thanks for the great tips!! This is my first big flight and with the family. So I’m a little nervous!!

You can print out the passes at home or at the airport. It will probably be easier than keeping up with 3 mobile passes but at the same time, I wouldn't let him hold the pass, in case he loses or rips it. I'm sorry but I'm not sure about checking in all at once. I have seen people say you can check in all at once but I've traveled with someone and they checked us in individually, using a phone and a computer at the same time. During that time we did technically check in and had a person in between us but we just let them go in front of us so we could stay together. but it was so long ago maybe it's changed.

Yes with early bird you are automatically checked in 36 hours ahead. However to note. Doesn't guarantee an A group position due to many factors like if lots of people purchased early bird on the flight etc.

Hello I haven't flown on business select. I have the sw credit card which allows me to upgrade to priority boarding 4 times a year. So example if I used points to purchase a flight I can upgrade at the counter to a a1-a15 spot at $30-$50 per person. With business select you don't select seats, you are guaranteed a higher boarding position of A1-A15 so you get on the plane quicker. Unless there are a lot of pre boarders (like wheelchair assisted) or the plane has a lot of people on from a connecting flight you should be in the front

There should be on the side of the arm rest. Hold and push back. If you're on exit row you may not me able to recline.

No real best seat unless you don't want to sit by the bathroom or in the middle. As long as you check in early you and get a good position number you will be able to board early.

Hi I do appreciate your video, I also have been traveling with Southwest for sometime, Now as of 06/23/22 our flight was scheduled for 5:45am upon trying to check-in on 06/22/22 only to find out they're only giving me my return flight boarding pass, let me try this again only to see that they don't put me on standby for fully paid their gets to the airport and they tell me unfortunately we had some type of issues so you inconvenience my husband and to accommodate someone else I'm totally just totally disappointed in Southwest Airline standby really you put us on standby for fully paid fare and that's not what behoove me you didn't put me on a 10-hour flight for later on this evening
