SPOILERS its a secret to get to a hidden floor, the switch in the fireplace opens a secret room that has a trap door which needs 2 keys to open.

Another useful tip: don't use blanks ouside of boss-fights. Take damage instead. Blanks are much more useful during boss-fights because they give you a better chance o flawlessing a boss which is super important. For the same reason, it doesn't hurt spending some money on extra blanks before a boss-fight, particularly if you want to unlock shortcuts (it requires a master round from the previous floor).

Yeah, that one is a bit of a double-edged sword. It works amazingly with some combinations though, I beat the Lich with the Betrayer using Full Metal Jacket. It's also quite powerful with don't-get-hit guns and items like the Metronome.

Danko55555 - One tip for the Gatling Gull that always helps me is to use one of those stone square walls for constant cover at any of the corners in the room. I literally stay there for the whole fight and just have the boss chasing me around it. When he teleports away from you and starts using his homing missiles/bombs; he is standing still while doing this, so you can take that opportunity to run near him and get a good few shots in (just keep moving when doing it, of course) - then run back to one of those square walls for cover. There was one time when I got the Gatling Gull with no solid walls in the room... I'm not sure if that was a glitch or something!

Thank you SO much for referring to these as "Tips and Tricks" instead "Life Hacks" Also, just to clarify, dodge rolling doesn't get rid of poison the same way it gets rid of fire. Poison doesn't build up on its own the way fire does. You need to be standing in poison for the poison meter to rise. If you walk off the poison, the poison meter will fall. With regard to poison, the I-frames of the dodge roll are equivalent to not standing in poison, so the meter goes down. The take away from this is that if you find yourself on the edge of pool of poison and the poison meter is rising, you don't need to dodge roll to get rid of it. You just need to walk off the poison. If you are in the middle of a pool of poison, THEN you should dodge roll because you'll have less contact with the floor on your way out of the pool. On the other hand, if you see your fire meter at all, you NEED to dodge roll to get rid of it. Simply getting out of the pool of burning oil is not enough.

Best tip I can give would be set Reload to Space, Shift, or Middle Mouse Button, which ever feels more comfortable. Then if you use Space as reload. Switch Use Item to Shift or Middle Mouse Button, or one of the Thumb Buttons if you have any works very well. Personally I use Space as Reload and one of my thumb buttons for Use Item. Makes Active Reload so much easier. Also you can still delay the Rat but only one room away. Going out then back in while an Item is on the floor and shooting him as he pops in. You can go one room away, and he wont pop in and take the item. Useful so you can spam your gun to see if a secret room is in an adjacent room and not worry about picking up the Ammo Box right away. Just don't go more than one room away, or he will pop in.

Actually, for the Mimics, you don't need to shoot. Mimics, prior to being open, have a "breathing" animation, which makes them move slightly. All you need to do is wait to see if the chest "breathes" to see if it's a mimic or not. That and the Hunter's Dog barks near mimics.

Nice video :) I'd add #17 you get 2 more blanks upon reaching the next floor so don't be afraid to use them in the boss, and if you didn't need them you can use them to try to open a secret room before you head down.

while the video was not bad i think you missed many good tips, like don't pick up keys on the floor until you've found the shop since then he's guaranteed to have a key for sale(the rat don't steal keys), one chest per floor contains a gun and one contains a passive/active item and if you beat the boss before you pick up any guns on the floor the boss is guaranteed to drop a gun so if you just want guns beat the boss before opening any chests(easiest with hunter & marine).

not always a passive one ITEM, so active items are in the non gun chest too, and since you can only carry one active item most of the time it's not rare for you to lose items due to not being able to carry them while you can always pick up more guns. also many items are very unremarkable like the gas mask, you don't remember those items most of the time. so yes always a gun and a item but guns are more noticeable

You can sell everything, not only guns. You can even sell the trash broken chests sometimes drop. Hold tab(to show the map) and click the item. A red button saying drop will appear in the top left corner.

The junk can actually be useful only if you have the sentient junk first that follows you around. When you get other bags of junk it actually upgrades him to be able to damage enemies and he can't get hurt

Yes, keys are important but don't get too greedy with them. If you have more than 5 keys at once, you will most likely die or finish the game with spare keys, even if you find Flynt (the keyhole merchant, who uses keys as currency). Instead of just destroying all brown chests you find, I'd say do not open them immediately, but explore the entire level before you decide how to spend your keys. If you're lucky enough to find red or black chests on the first level, great. But if there's nothing but brown chests on that level, I say open them. Some great passive items can be found in brown chests (like the scope, which gives you accuracy), and you still need a weapon to fight the first boss with a chance of getting a flawless.

If your the hunter and the dog starts barking, the chest is most likely a mimic. Also, the mimic licked its lips before I realized that it was a mimic so before opening a chest if your not the hunter, wait for maybe five seconds before opening the chest and look for that animation. Also if you plan to fight it they have a lot of health and shoot a lot if you stay in that same room.

On most of my normal runs, I try and master all bosses up until floor 4. Having 6 hearts going into floor 4 and dragun are extremely useful. Also practice makes perfect in this game, practice dogerolling allot. And never NEVER forget to bring bullet components when you can.

if you don't know the downsides of stealing items, it increases your curse, which increases the chance of jammed enemies that deal 1 heart of damage, when you reach 10 curse an invincible enemy that looks like a grim reaper and goes through walls will follow you through the whole game, dealing contact damage, also steal twice and you get caught.

Don't waste ammo shooting chests to see if they're mimics. You just have to wait a couple of seconds and the lid will open a crack revealing that it's an enemy. Also you left a ton of health lying on the floor just because you had full health. These can be picked up and saved for later. Specifically they cause the hp dispenser thing to appear in certain areas, like the shop.

I wouldn't recommend skipping brown chests completely. There's very few good D tier weapons, but if you know that the chest will have an item in it i'd unbox it. For those who don't know, there's 2 chests that spawn in each chamber and 1 chest is guaranteed to have an item drop and 1 is guaranteed to be a weapon drop. Unfortunately, the only way to know which is which is if you unbox one. So, skip a brown chest if you see it first then unbox the 2nd chest to see if it gets you an item or weapon.

What you found wasn't what he was referring to, what you saw was a rainbow chest which gives tons of top tier items. What he is talking about is a glitch chest which when you open it takes you to a double beholster fight. It also rewards top tier items if you can beat it.

1:57 CORRECTION: you are not in for a treat by OPENING the glitched chest, you are in for a treat if you beat the terror that lies behind. Upon opening the chest you are transported back to Chamber 2, but with a twist. The very first room you enter is always a boss opening room, and what is behind is a "glitched" Boss (like the chest, it is not an actual glitch, it is intended). this Boss is 2 "glitched" Beholsters stacked on top of each other, firing attacks that start in sync with each other, but after a while they typically go out of sync and you'll find yourself facing 2 attacks at the same time. Defeat this boss and you are rewarded with a LOT of guns, items and pickups. But open the chest with little or no good gear and you might as well consider yourself dead, unless you are a VERY good player.

The trash bag gives u 3 gold, normally you get about 100 gold or more just from clearing the first floor.And at least in my experience when u find every secret room on every floor and clear at least the normal rooms flawless, wich increases item drop rate, you are more than good on keys. +carsten h. I gotta say, the brown chests do have some great utility guns like the Thompson, machine pistol or the AK. Then theres the chance to get the sling, stinger, etc. If you have opened one of your chests and its a passive, the brown chest may be more worthwhile since you might get one of the really good "normal" weapons. If you got a gun out of the higher tier chest on a floor, leave the brown alone, the passives in the brown chests seem to suck (aka heavy boots). What do you think?

I believe that the brown chests are worth opening in the early stages of the game, mainly Chamber 1 so you can get something better than your starting weapons. Chamber 2 is circumstantial, and anywhere Chamber 3 and beyond you should prioritize better chests.

I personally love the curse stat. The more curse you have the more money enemies drop. Unfortunately, stronger enemies with higher health, faster speed, and higher damage are more likely to spawn. But, don't worry, if you are using a decent gun, they should be no problem to kill. It's just dodging their bullets that's hard. Just keep in mind that you shouldn't go past 10 curse, then the Lord of the Jammed spawns. You can't kill him, you can't knock him back, and he's just really, really annoying.

well you're in luck, if you're trying, increasing curse to 7 (jammed boss threshold) isn't hard, for reference, cursula's stuff is 2.5 curse each, smashing a mirrior is 3.5 and many other things increase it by 1. Alternatively you could pray at the hero shrine right at the beginning of floor 1to set your curse to 9 (I believe you have to unlock the ability to do that)

I don't know where you got that from, everywhere I look it says getting hit at all will not drop the master round. I havent played in a long time so maybe they changed that but I can't find a single thing online saying that armor protects you from a flawless boss fight.

As cursed enemies drop more casings in general, I always deliberately increase my curse by a few levels to make it happen. Not too high (level 5) until the grim reaper chases me around though. Dodge rolling does "one point" of damage. How much is that? One hit from your basic weapon. That's why you can roll into slimes and kill them. You can use this knowledge to kill off weakened enemies as well, as long as you know how much health they have remaining. (EDIT: Or not. It does way lesser than that. Maybe that of a letter from the BULLET gun or a nail gun? Not too sure.) And one more tip: Use your starting weapons as often as possible so that you can save ammo on better weapons for harder levels. I know it can be difficult since it takes longer to kill enemies which means more bullets to dodge, but in the long run it's worth it. And you improve your dodging as well, so that's a win-win.

+The Noobastic Zone I hear ya on using the default pistol to save ammo. I use kind of an alpha strike to soften up the room, and then swap to regular pistol.

The Noobastic Zone Min/Maxing ammo counts is pretty important unless you get things like the Metroid gun or Megamans gun. (sorry the actual names escape me at the moment.)

I find crossbow a little too slow for my liking. Yes sure it kills most basic enemies in one hit, but if you miss it's about 1-2 seconds of not firing. However coupled with any item that increases its overall rate of fire turns it into an effective late game weapon. While the basic weapons are weak I value their speed a lot more than I think I should, except the Pilot's pistol since it's inaccurate and still fires as fast as the Marine's gun.

Game Hoard Game Oh my, it certainly adds up, with higher curse adding more chance for spawning red enemies, as well as, once you get over (I think) 5 curse, you get a % chance of an invincible badguy that can chase you from room to room till you leave the level, when you've been on one floor too long. Oh, and, if you reach 10 curse, there is no delay, he's after you from the start of every floor.

B button still works; backs out of menus, and such, but, no dodge roll even though it's set to. Not for B button or the trigger.

Glitchy chests are called glitch chests and are the highest tier chests in the game. They are a higher tier than rainbow chests and are very op. I haven't found one yet though

They are not higher tier than rainbow, rainbow has a 0.0333% chance of spawning wheras glitch has a 0.1% chance of spawning. And rainbow gives you top tier items without the double beholster fight.

While rainbow does spawn 8 items / guns, successfully winning the double beholster battle nets you more. 10 or 11 I believe if memory serves me. Generally speaking rainbow is better though because all the drops tend to be highest tier whereas double beholster drops are more random.

+Anon Ymous the double beholster also spawns a metric fuckton of pickups so you should have all the hp, armor and keys you will almost ever need if you can pull off a victory against them, but yeah rainbow chests are less hazordous to you health, and a tad bit more reliable, and i dont think they require a key

+Ancala Bond unless you're past the forth floor or fighting strong enemies. guns like the thunderclap and eye of the beholster have more dps and are the best suited guns for forge and bullet hell room clearing, even if they might not be as ammo efficient. hell, the mahogany is cheaper and does the same damage as the megahand but breaks bullets and doesn't require a charge.

OK quick story I was in a run and i didn't know what a mimic was and i went to open a chest and a mimic popped out! i killed it and was like: i better not let that happen again. it's very possible if not likely to get two brown chests on chamber 1 and trust me when i say you want to do everything in your power to not fight a boss with your starting weapon, in addition since one of the two chests is guaranteed to have an item in it, it can be worth opening a brown chest for an item as some D tier items can be decent (cough sling)

IIRC, an early patch for the game fixed it so that the Vendor Creep in the grate will no longer pay good money for "Junk". You used to get 50 Shells from one Junk, but it was patched so that he only pays out One single Shell now. That may have changed, but I don't expect the devs would have gone back on it.
