Its not just that. There are ways around the insurance issue in extreme circumstances. Ive found that in a lot of these cases people have extreme anxiety/fear over going to the doctor. So much that it prevents them from even getting it looked at. Seemed like he has a decent job and could have taken out a private insurance policy.
@rdizzy13 ай бұрын
@@JJ_5289 The issue is that even WITH insurance, you will have to fight to get it covered (because even at this large of a size, they will still call this a non necessary procedure, and try to not cover it), and then if you manage to get it covered, you will still pay out the ass regardless. Average US citizen has less than 1000 dollars in savings, even those with "decent" jobs. Tons of people pay 1000 a month for insurance and never get to use it because they can't afford all the deductibles and copays involved.

This poor man. That is just crazy and I loathe medical people that deny treatment due to lack of insurance or general apathy saying it’s “cosmetic”. The UK NHS won’t pay for anything any more to help patients unless they are illegal immigrants. I have skin issues that I requested a dermatology appointment 3 years ago and I am still waiting, despite the websites all saying the waiting lists are a maximum of 18 weeks! My skin is getting more infections by the day and I can’t see myself reaching the top of the list before I die (I’m 51!!) as they just don’t care. It’s just insane all this wait as I can’t believe there are so many people in my catchment area that need to see a dermatologist. On chasing it up they have told us that it’s at least a 56 week wait. Our NHS that used to actually help people now do nothing - no referrals, can’t get any appointments, different doctors every other week so there is zero continuity of care. It’s so unfair. I hope this man is now fully recovered.

What an incredible transformation. The end result is amazingly tidy given the size of the tumour and how stretched the skin was. Drs Osborne and Hamilton are truly skilled. Tim's eyes and face look so much brighter after the surgery. What a shame no one could have helped him before it got to this point. Not just that but that they told him it was just a cyst and not to be worried. I understand that cysts are technically cosmetic because they don't threaten your life, but when something gets to a certain size it is obviously a major strain on someone and they deserve to be treated regardless.
