160,000 mile Michelin Tires

Used to run lots of light trucks in my past businesses and pretty much tried them all. Never have I had a set NOT last beyond their warrantied life. Also have never had a catastrophic fail with any of them. Goodyear, Uniroyal, Bridgestone, Continental, Goodrich, and several other Asian brands have all come up short in comparison. Ran them on our Mack roll-offs as well w/ the only failure being a piece of rebar thru a sidewall at a concrete dump. Michelin used to be the only maker who actually checked their tires for roundness. Yeah, sounds kinda strange, like what other shape could they be, but ultimately their technology has always outlasted every other for us. Proper inflation is of course paramount for any tire, but I also tow a lot and use a TPMS on everything. Some are known to develop surface crazing from excessive ozone & UV exposure, but I've only seen that on tires that I've kept for 7 or 8 years (not really a surprise I suppose, andbprobably not smart). Then again, if I had to drive every day in the northeast, or in the Baltimore/Washington metro area still, the roads will kill just about anything, but the Michelin lasted even there. Enjoying shore life now, where the roads are long and straight and smooth, so I expect my latest sets will probably outlive me. Never regretted the cost, which btw is the major reason I keep a BJ's membership. Their prices are hard to beat installed, just make sure to keep rotating and checking your alignments.

160K in how many years? I replaced most of my tires because of aging, not wear. Anyway, you got your money worth with 160K miles.
