Aged 35 😯 $163K Student Debt 🤦🏾♀️ From New York 😊 Makes $29K ☠️

This video definitely hit home. I made a dumb move getting a MSW to enter the Social Work field. The pay was less than 40K, workload...heavy, workplace...toxic, and opportunities limited in settings which paid higher wages. Lesson to young adults: Please do NOT go into the Social Work field and AVOID student loan debt. Select an inexpensive degree which will teach you a skill (Health care, Education, and etc.) Or Trade School (Automotive Repair, Cosmetology, Carpentry, Dental Hygienist). You can open your own business or do contract work on the side if you have a skill and will NOT have student loan debt.

I got my MSW, became licensed and make over 50k! I am almost debt free as well. I know the work load can be heavy in some agencies but there are good areas. I previously worked making over 60k out of grad school in Louisiana. It is possible! Best of luck to you!

During training we invested in Roth IRA and contributions to 401K, working in the side we where able to pay a large portion each month to student loans and knock down our Principle. Right now may be a great time to refinance student loans or even call your servicer and make sure the CARES act was implemented for federal student loans or call and discuss option on private loans! after 12 years of public indoctrination, multiple lessons where they say 'working hard' is for chumps and skilled labor is equivalent to being a garbage man, you have to go to college, said over and over and over. All taking place in a setting that is not teaching you to critically think for yourself, you can and do actually get punished if you think for yourself and come up with ideas that even seem to contradict a strict adherence to the lesson plan. but most people do not care, bc at the end of the day, its just daycare! For parents to stupid, self obsessed, or indebted to take care of their own children. Maybe start asking who really benefits from all this??

I imagine trying to be a personal trainer is very hard work. You are relying on being "popular" in order to get people to want to hire you. Lots of you tubers and Instagram trainers have that massive following because well, they're popular. And the ones that are not popular have at least 1, maybe even 2 jobs for their main income.
@EbonyRivers14 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t cost $160k+ to be a personal trainer. Could’ve just picked up a few certifications. And the sad part is not that it’s not a whole lot you can do with that degree, maybe research or teach. But it sounds like he really doesn’t want to give this up this career path - even temporarily - to get out of the hole. Never pay more for a degree than you can earn back in income. That’s an expensive and disheartening life lesson.

Sorry but this guy need to figure out: Option1: change his carreer and city as well. His body is actually his only one asset. Successful personnel trainer is a full time job. You need a perfect body (be on steroids and perfect timed diet is costly), nice car...in order to be famous on IG. That will bring you audience on KZbin so you can sell fitness programs, supplements, private coaching... Option B: join the army or building job where with a less costly training, you will be able to make around 60k. Plus, you can keep your actual job as a part time job.
