is your boost based on the size of the pulley on the Amr500?. What type of pulley is that on the charger?. thanks.

Boost level is dependent on the pulley ratio, engine size and rpm. If I ran the same pulleys on a bigger motor there would be less boost. The s/c pulley is stock and the crank pulley is from a Chevy 2.8 v6

about the carb, Rochester single barrel? Any other information on that? Google wasn't much help.

Kirk Lewis it is the stock carburetor off of my dads 1967 c10 w/ a 250 inline 6. I believe they are called the Rochester bv series carb. Single jet, soft casting so they are prone to seeping but very simple I drilled the jet up 1 size and the afr was as close to perfect as one could ask for

Airsoft Philosophy I might be able to in the near future I'm actually building a new engine at the moment. If you can fabricate it's pretty simple mostly making sure everything is square I chose to build it hotrod style sticking out in the air like it is and could definitely build it so it is under the decklid. The supercharger can be found on Ebay for 180-300 bucks all day long. This motor was assembled with all my used junk parts and was a perfect test bed for my first time going forced inducted and with only 3 pounds of boost it made a huge difference in power. This motor is going to get a old 78mm cast stroker crank and some b pistons in the future and I'll crank up the boost and see what it will do:)

Thanks for the info what type of piston material Are you during with that boost level cast, Hypoeutectic , or forged ?

Airsoft Philosophy cheap cast pistons, a crank that needed to be turned, old mystery rods, mystery stock cam, cheap aa performance dual port heads with single high rev springs, used stock pushrods and rockers(og clip style) 034 dizzy w/ Saab vac. Adv/rtd canister, 7.5-1 comp. Ratio... for what it was n/a compared to 3 pounds of boost is a pretty impressive jump in power fully loaded it pulls hills like a train!

are you still running the s charger on your eng .& how dose it go on the top end driving

The top end was awesome as well as the low end "tractor" torque. I had a hill that was about 2 miles long and before I s/c'd the engine I would have it floored at the bottom of the hill doing 70 and by the top I'd be doing less than 50mph. After I supercharged it I could be mid hill doing 50 in 4th(.87 4th) and wind the speedo past 80 no problem(and that was just shy of 4lbs of boost) It's not in my car right now I built a stroker that's in it at the moment that I have in some of my latest videos. The s/c'd engine I literally slapped together with all my used JUNK parts that I was never going to use so it was an experiment/learning experience. I think one of the rod's started coming loose so I pulled it before it did any damage. It will get built again and go in my volksrod(which I also have video's on) and will be much better suited for that car:)

@@V8N8T i sized 1 & almost sized the second on . pulls good throw the gear but it dosent like to drive down the highway. stock pully got up to 6lb boost . where did you set your timing

@@miketruchon6525 what do you mean by sized one then sized the 2nd one? I ran 28 degrees total but I was also running a 034 svda distributor that I put a vacuum advance canister off of a turbo Saab or volvo(they are both pretty much the same from what I remember reading) that vacuum canister has boost retard. I tuned my carb with a wideband o2 gauge, if you don't have one I would highly recommend one otherwise you are asking for trouble. It could possibly be running lean or really rich causing it to run poorly on cruise. What distributor/ignition are you running?

@@V8N8T yes the first one sized up . when it got hot the impeller's inside sized the the outer casing .had just over 100 mil on it . still trying to get warranty on it .i ordered a norther one & it tried to do the same . but i got it before it locked up . so i spun it on a drill & ran sand paper over the impellers & at the same time i had the heat gun on it .& saved it . it has not bin a good experience . it runs real good thru the gears but bogs on the hi way . in running a1600 d port & 2 barrel carp . elc distributor with vacuum advance .

@@miketruchon6525 ah I get ya, I never had that happen, my s/c was used I have seen some "remanufactured" units for sale though. Be cautious with the vacuum advance if you don't know what you are advancing you can get into detonation really quick. You can bend the stop tab for your weights in the mechanical advance in your distributor to limit total timing to around 26 degrees to be safe and still retain your idle timing at 8-10 degrees. Do you have a o2 meter on your car?

The supercharger sucks the air and fuel and shoves it into the motor to make more power. Having the carburetor before the supercharger also helps cool the charge coming from the s/c

And what is the meaning of all this? I looked at the measurements on the dynamometric stand, there the power rose somewhat from the 60s to the 90s at a pressure of 0.8 bar. Well, that's funny. Many cars have more than 100 horsepower already from the factory.

It was an experiment, and it made a considerable amount of power for the cost and I had fun doing it, if your not having fun what's the point right:)
