Wow. I’m looking for a super 8 camera right now but 16mm looks way more amazing/ appealing wow. I’m scared to manually load film into the camera though

Buy a roll of cheap out of date film on eBay and practice with it. I felt the same way at first. Film is so much fun and magical, at least to me. You can do it!!

Hey there! How did u recenter your k3? I mean... What do i need to do to change to super 16mm my K3'?
@jordanshankman
@jordanshankman 4 жыл бұрын
Juan Martín Yépez Hey! I purchased mine already modified, but I believe the process basically consists of replacing the original lens ring mount with a super 16 recentering ring and replacing the original gate with a modified one for s16. imgur.com/CaKMVkw imgur.com/EkXsrjd

The registration on your K3 is really good. When you did the mod to super 16, Was it just the gate you changed? I’m noticing some vignetting on the right top and bottom, was that from not re-centering the lens? Great travel film!
@jordanshankman
@jordanshankman 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I purchased the camera already modified with an updated gate and re-centering ring. I can’t guarantee that this is accurate, but if I remember correctly you’ll get vignetting with the stock meteor lens even with a re-centering ring. It’s only an issue when shooting at its widest focal length, though.

How many rolls of film did this take?

And what was your method of metering for light?
@jordanshankman
@jordanshankman 4 жыл бұрын
Wild Fern Weddings I shot two rolls in total, but a around 30 seconds was cut for this film. And I used a incident light meter for close ups and a reflective meter for landscapes. Hope that helps!

Wild Fern Weddings Sure! I love your work by the way. And just a heads up - In the off chance that you’re considering shooting weddings on 16, save yourself the headache and consider a Bolex H16 or Canon Scoopic. I can tell you from experience, a K3 won’t cut it.

@@jordanshankman Thanks! I didn't plan on using it exclusively, just some shots here and there to mix in with the digital video. I'm curious as to why you say it won't cut it? What issues were you finding with it? Feel free to DM me on Instagram @wildfernweddings

Nice looking footage. Were the light leaks natural, or added in post?
@jordanshankman

Nate Brown Thanks Nate! The light leaks are natural. The K3 isn’t the most precise camera, but it’s charming none the less.

@jordanshankman
@jordanshankman 5 жыл бұрын
Frederick Sprinkle Nothing in particular really. The camera can be pretty imprecise, so just take care with every step, especially when pin pointing the focus.
